Easy electronic signatures at a premium price

Used weekly for 1-2 years
Reviewed 2020-09-29
Review Source: Capterra

DocuSign is a great tool but definitely takes advantage of their market leading status by charging high prices for basic services, requiring multi-year commitments. Cheaper alternatives may be out there.

Pros
DocuSign has increased our ability to get signatures on proposal, quotes, and agreements much quicker. Being able to brand the communication and signature portals has increased the overall professionalism and security of our outreach and communication.

Cons
It's very expensive, almost prohibitively so for a small business. While it is a market-leading software, even for a small plan, the cost is high and requires a multi-year commitment. Also, customer support has been average, at best, including slow responses on billing issues and a revolving door of account managers.

My overall experience with DocuSign is great, I have been using it for many years both sending and recieving documents.

Pros
I like that Docusign is very easy for people to understand. Anyone can figure it out, regardless of technical skills.

Cons
There are cheaper tools out there that can do e-signatures. If price is the deciding factor, you could find a less expensive solution.

Works well but is costly and they attempt to trap your documents

It's a good product. It's no bargain at their price point though.

Pros
There are some very nice convenience features in the product. For example, it retains your signature fields when you upload new revisions of the same document. It also does a good job on forms that require multiple signatures.

Cons
Docusign makes it very hard to download your documents. So, if you need to get copies into a data room for due diligence, you're going to waste hours. They likely do this to make it very hard to leave Docusign. That's great for them and terrible for their customers.

DocuSign has saved me time, effort, and they even help save trees because you no longer need to use paper for legal documents.

Pros
I love that it has a fully functional mobile app for Android that I can use while on the go. I don't have to wait to go home, don't have to print, scan and sign physically. I also love that documents can be signed from across the globe within minutes.

Cons
I wish they made DocuSign more affordable because cost per month just to use the service and be able to use my own branding isn't cheap.

We have loved docusign. They are significantly more expensive that other companies. I do believe I could get the same features for cheaper. I will be looking into this once our contract is over.

Pros
Most basic features are user friendly. You do have to do some research and read the forums to figure out the more complicated things. However, we use this product every day and it helps efficiency and cut on paper costs and recycle cost. Plus we get to save trees. Win win to me

Cons
Some features are confusing if you are not tech savvy. I spent a lot of time trying to figure it the hyperlink feature.

Digital Transformation starts with electronic Signature.

It is good to very good. I think it is too expensive. The version I use does not have the full feature, which is even more expensive. I do respect the Value provided due to the time savings and ease of doing business but overall, it should have been at least been cheaper.

Pros
As the one who loads contract and documents for signoff in my organisation this has been easiest system to work with - Drag and drop my contract and other document. 2. Enter a name of party and if this name was already entered, then the address book pops in the email address. 3. Set the order for sign off, and wait for users to get their notifications. Docusign has moved my process from 3 week to 2 days in most cases. The user gets an email in their inbox, click and accepts then adopt and signs. A simple step wise process that take only 10 minutes to get a new user onboarded and into the process of full digital or a electronic signature. Users who does not like the electronic or digital signature can always download and wet in their signature, and email the document for administrator to complete the process.

Cons
The initial email goes to Junk. (BIG ISSUE) when I am dealing with a new client, who has never had a docusign email from me. In this case, I always have to call clients to take a look into their Junk mail. A challenge that I face with this platform is with the address book, if you user enters incorrect name or email for a signature party, the system does not have a way to correct this error, you just have to make a new duplicate contact, which sometime cause confusion when you are trying to find a specific user. The example John Public - email: Jpublic@hmc.net if this is entered as John Public email: Jpubli@hmcc.net - then both records are kept in the address book, which can causes confusion going forward.

Cons

Pros
DocuSign is one of those programs that has become the industry standard for electronic signatures just as PhotoShop is the industry standard for photo manipulation. The reason for this is because it can work with practically all browsers, operating systems, and can be used as an add-on in multiple different applications. The list goes on and on.

Cons
In terms of pricing options, it gets very expensive because they have different prices depending on how many envelopes you think you will send. If you go over that, there are additional charges, and so if your business fluctuates from year to year, it can be hard to guess how many you think you may send, and then pay more in overages. Or, you can choose a higher package to start, but they are not cheap to say the least. The product is very nice, but the price is still too high.

Great. I never thought I'd see the day when this industry would be paperless, but DocuSign allowed me to do just that.

Pros
Ease of use. The learning curve wasn't too bad. I'm technologically challenged but once I figured it out it was easy to use. Also easy to explain to a client how they were to respond at their end. Not too many emails showing up when the next person responded. Easy to pick up and save the final signed version in a usable format. You can still copy notes from the document once it's completed and saved. A great feature.

Cons
Price. It became too popular to use and the increased expense forced my company to look for a cheaper alternative. That's when I realized how good DocuSign was...when I had to try and deal with an inferior product. Would love to go back to DocuSign.

We work with vendors and client all over the country to sign contracts, memorandums of understanding, and other agreements. We've been using e-signature tools for a while, and we catch these. Not only do we need to be able to collect e-signatures, but we also want to be capable of storing all contracts in the Cloud storage for quick access and safe storage.

Pros
The most feature that I use is collecting signatures on contracts, memorandums of understanding, and other essential documents and verifying signatures on the form. The fact that the signature process can be completed by anyone using any computer makes it simple for all of our customers. The Cloud also allows document storage and retrieval quick and straightforward.

Cons
Compared to another service on the market, the price is a little high, and if we don't pay yearly, it's cost even more per quarter. I wish there were better options for the pricing scheme to differ. We don't even use it enough on a yearly basis, but the quarter plan ended up being more affordable than some other choices.

DocuSign has allowed me to send and receive signed contracts and other documents in a seamless, rapid way. I have concluded agreements in a more efficient way thanks to this tool. It has also allowed to sign things without the hassle of other applications, like pasting my signature into Adobe forms or otherwise inserting my signature from a saved image. This is a huge time and energy saver.

Pros
Using DocuSign allows me to sign and have others sign documents in a legal, efficient way with very little hassle. DocuSign means there is no printing involved, and no scanning in of signatures required, either. This means contracts get returned much faster than if DocuSign wasn't involved in the process and a pen and paper signature and mailing were involved. The interface is nicely done and it's easy to track who has signed what. It's also a very secure platform to use for sensitive information.

Cons
The pricing! It would be nice if there were a free version for people who don't have a regular use for it, and I think the prices could be more affordable. It does offer a lot of benefits, though, so if you regularly send out contracts the price is justified.

Pros

Cons
The free version is very good, but it will only suit those who move few documents, and only allows the signature if documents, it is not possible to integrate them with other programs. The price of paid versions varies, the cheapest has a monthly shipping limit. It is not a negative point, the values are fair for a competent service.

My overall experience with DocuSign has been positive. It has allowed me to streamline my business so I don't have to stress over getting documents signed. I also like the customer service. DocuSign is very popular so it's easy to get clients to use it. I would recommend this software to anyone who has to get documents signed on a regular basis.

Pros
I have been using DocuSign in my real estate business for a few years now and I am very happy with it. I have used Adobe and it doesn't match up to DocuSign. This software is easy to set up and use. Also, it is very common so it's easy to get clients to use it. If you need to get contracts, quotes, and proposals signed on a regular basis then you need to use DocuSign. It has streamlined my business so I don't have to stress about getting the signatures that I need. I would definitely recommend this software to anyone.

Cons
The only things that I don't like about DocuSign is the cost. I think it should be priced more competitively. Other than that, I really like the software. I will continue using it until another more affordable option is available that is of equal quality.
