I love Resource Guru. It's the only thing that's shifted our capacity management into a new gear. By which I mean: No more trying to manage everything from a single calendar, complete visibility over workflow and appointments, and the ability to see at a glance how much time is available on any given day.
1. It doesn't try to do anything other than what it's best for 2. Calendar sync 3. Cost-effectiveness 4. Responsiveness of the support team (including on UX suggestions! Amazing.) 5. The little guru on the dashboard. Yeah it's cosmetic but it makes me feel good every time I log in. 6. Easy to set up and use.
The only things I really dislike a cosmetic and non-fatal. They are: 1. The inability to hit a "today" button to go back to today's date, and the thin scrollbars right and left 2. The fact that I have to literally click and drag events to create instances on non-consecutive days, rather than selecting dates.

The best part about Resource Guru is the reporting system. Given how fuss-free the management tools are to use, the reporting system is the proverbial icing on the cake, as it aggregates all your available data in one easy to use panel. Not to mention, it is so intuitive to use and has such a remarkably low barrier to entry, that I onboarded all my team managers in a single day, and have never looked back.
Some parts of the UI look a bit dated, like the "adding resources" panel, but it's honestly not a big deal because you only use it once when adding your resources, and hardly touch it ever again. Other than that, changing the default working hours is a bit tedious, but again - do it once and you never need to adjust it again.

We as a team absloutely love using RG, we use it on a daily basis and it really has transformed the way in which we work as a team, making us more collaborative and organised.
Can't believe how cheap this software is and all the built in capabilities! It's great, we are a team of 7 and this has helped us with our project management bookings. You can clearly see what work is booked in over the weeks/months and allows you easily to move stuff round.
I would like there to be an option to have specific colours per clients. It would also be good if it retained hours per project. For example we have big animation projects in that are broken down into sketches, moodboard, animation etc and would be good to have some sort of log if the time gets moved.

We have a team of 15+ individuals who all have different work/ vacation schedules, commitment levels, and weekly to daily workloads. We use ResourceGuru to organize all of this information into a simple, clean format that is easy to read and quick to update. The main component that we use every week is tracking team member's availability to take on more work (or if they're overloaded and need help)....
The user interface is very intuitive and it is easy to scroll through the entire team's schedule for the week.
The cost is considerable, but if your team needs something beyond Outlook calendar to view everyone's schedules in one place, it's a great option for that. I wish there was more compatibility between our Outlook calendars and RG though. Often it feels like we need to have duplicate information in both places.

This has saved us countless hours of email writing and phone calls as our trainers can see their bookings without us having to call or write to them each time something changes. All of our sales and booking team can immediately see who is available for times requested by a client. Our Marketing and Finance departments love the reports and they are so easy to customise.
Colour-coded projects, ability to mark projects as confirmed or tentative, able to sync the software to individual calendars, easy to customise reports, everything on one screen, easy to add and customise new resources. I could go on but, this software has grown with our company over the past 4 years and we are all very happy with it.
The new features that are added are not always in the order we want. For example, it took 4 years for the confirmed/tentative option to be added - a very useful feature for us but I understand that the Resource Guru Team needs to prioritise features based on the overall needs of their customers.

I have been using for a few years now and Resource Guru is a really good software with easy and friendly interface. Since it was updated it got even better. The whole team likes it and we've never had any sort of doubts or problems with this software. It naturally became part of workflow.
You can add clients and project and move things around very easily with drag and drop functionality. The look and feel and their calendar is extremely helpful and clear. With RG you can schedule people and easily manage annual leave, sick leave, and hours dedicated to each task, client or project. We never required any sort of training and the whole team was able to start using straightaway.
It would be nice to have a Project view. To make it easier on the hours management on a project basis.

As mentioned I have implement RG to both my previous and current working places. Its easy and simple, no complications, not clumpy. I use RG on a daily basis to book my whole team's daily tasks.
Easy to use, simple for all team members. Looks visibly pleasing. I have implemented Resource Guru to my previous and current working places. Very good value for money.
Needs to have an action for users to click once they have completed the task. I have been waiting for this for a few years now. Still not very mobile friendly.

Generally no issue if the scope is small to medium. larger scope requiring links to many other apps may take time to sync.
Intuitively easy to use, good usage of colors to present a quick glance of resource versus objectives deliverables
Integration with existing calendars, tools may not be smooth and sometimes not synced.

it have been very positive. I implemented this across or company to get some visibility on our resource allocation. it have worked well and is not very expensive.
very easy to use and the calander view is great give me a sense of what is going on 2, 3, 4 weeks out.
would like to have a feature that allows the employee to be able to mark a task or a project complete, which would than send a notification back to me or the PM that they are available to do additional works.

Provided visibility and allowed tracking of the team members, contract end dates and the ability to generate accurate invoices for the customer
The product is easy to use and allows the administrator to manage teams, plan and review previous activities. It can be used for recording or planning and gives a level of visibility that is lacking in a number of products. Although the team are constantly looking at ways to improve the product, it never strays away from its core and prime functionality. Many products try to grow into a bigger, wider space and lose the key elements that attracted customers to the product in the first place. A customer of ours was so impressed with the product that they too purchased it after seeing the value it afforded us.
It would be great if there was an App which could be opened rather than a web browser, although this is only a minor consideration with the number of browsers out there.

I am very happy with the product and the service. Do wish it was a bit cheaper as we are on south africa so it works out a bit more than finance likes to pay.
I love how eay it is to book. The reperating of project work and consulntans has made it so much easier.
It needs mor colurs to choose from, as I sometimes end up with duplicates. Extracting of reports, would prefer to just extract one specifc report at a time.

The program solves our equipment and people scheduling issues. Our staff can book and pre-book. From a business stand point I can quickly see ahead at how busy we are. I can run reports to see the utilization of our equipment and staff. This gives me some data I can use to see if more equipment or staff are required.
Cost. We don't have to limit how much we add to the schedule (people or equipment) because of the licensing cost. Because of that we use it more extensively and therefore get even more value from it.
The pictorial Guru and daily saying I like personally, but I have heard the comments from the [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN] and [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN] that it takes away from the professional feel of the program.

Good software and with a few tweaks/improvements it would be great but works out to be too expensive for large groups of resources.
Really easy to use and makes all resource planning very visible. Highlights the problem areas and upcoming projects really well
It turned out to be far too expensive for a fairly small company to justify. There was limited functionality around moving/altering/copying lines and resources input although the team are looking into this. The colours are limited for the lines also, which may seem like a small thing but the colours help to show visually what is planned. It would also be handy to be able to zoom in and out more to see full years as well as weeks.

It provides a birds eye view of our capabilities, quickly proving our team with the information required to manage the bookings for everyone of our 60 Devs.
That it does exactly what it should. No complex features such as budgets or projects.
We were hesitant at first because of the pricing but after using it for a few months we realized that it became a most for our Staff Augmentation business model. Our Capabilities team couldn’t survive a day without it.

Our use of Resource Guru is sort of out of the box. We use it for scheduling barn space in the Agriculture Industry. The support team has always stepped up to find ways to enable Resource Guru to fit with our unique needs. If it works this well for our out of the box use, imagine how well it works for it's intended purpose. For us, the reasonable price has been worth the gamble of using a software not meant for our intended use.
In our out of the box use, the biggest con - is the speed at which the software moves from page to page. However, this might not be Resource Guru's fault. It could be our internet capabilities, or the amount of data we plug in for our purpose. For our use, I'm looking a 15-17 week time frame, like most people look at a 8-10 hour work day. If you use the software as it's intended, this probably wouldn't be a problem.

So far, Resource Guru has saved us a great deal of hassle with just the equipment booking time alone. The reporting features were just frosting on the cake.
As our company grew, we needed a better way for people to get organized access to equipment. We needed to be able to request help from our support staff. Resource Guru was our solution and it was very well received. It has surpassed it's intended use because of how great the reporting and analytics are. We have since incorporated Resource Guru's easy-to-pull reports in our quarterly project accounting.
I would love to see Resource Guru support the ability to upload documents. It would be wonderful to have a single place for our employees to go to find the manuals or protocols they need for the equipment they are booking. It would be great to have our quotes able to be uploaded into the projects. Especially for the price. We have a good amount of Resources, and since you are charged per Resource, it would be great if the software was less of a "uni-tasker".

Works very well. New features are directed to the user and have been thoroughly thought through.
Easy to record time against different projects/customers.
Reporting is powerful but misses some core details like how much time is remaining on a certain customer (for fixed price, or limited POs)

Whilst it Guru is a promising, flexible and easy to use product it really is just bare bones at the moment and they have failed to deliver any additional functionality since launch despite increasing pricing. The forums are filled with requests and suggestions for highly useful add-ons and improvements that always receive the same answer "It's on the road map but we are working on other aspects...

It's very easy and intuitive to use. Although they don't do much the Project Code and Skill was something that the closest competitor did not offer and made resource guru more desirable
The closest competitor had 2 features that I would like to have seen, to be able to have the project marked as tentative. And to add a budget to the project - Other competitors had the budget and you could define a price per resource - however, for me a bucket of hours per project would be enough

Easy to add, administer and record time. We can also integrate to the API to easily see who has free time and surface this through other channels. It also allows the whole company to get a view on who is free and when
It's quite expensive for what we use it for, so this makes it a decision point as the company grows.

Transparency of our bookings, and the will from our employees to use it actively
Resource GURU focus on resource management . It doesn't provide a ton of unnecessary gadgets just driving the cost and complexity up. In a small company of app. 20 engineers, the GURU makes an excellent overview for the daily and weekly planning, provides a good forecasts of utilization looking ahead, and the ability of synchronizing with outlook makes it very easy to inform about our expectations to our colleagues.
A nice feature to work on, would be an 'autofit' function, where a new project could be thrown into the bunch of existing projects and let GURU do the initial planning. A smooth looking app as other software provide would also be nice.

I enjoyed the time needed at the early phase to understand the benefit of combining the added values of Resource Guru and the added values of our traditional individual and team calendars. It took a bit of time to some of us but now it is fully adopted!
As we are mostly working remotely, we mainly value Resource Guru as a resource tracker tool. Who is doing what next week? Who is where next week? Who is available when next week? We like the very user-friendly interface.
Even if the user interface for mobile devices has been recently improved, there is no Android/IOS App. Not yet?
