Mavenlink just isn't the best project management software out there. I would recommend Trello way before recommending Mavenlink.
For the record, I'm writing from the perspective of a copywriter, rather than a project manager. Mavenlink acted as a hub for all of our projects. All of our assignments, assets, and time management lived there. Every time I asked my project manager for an asset, she would always tell me it's "somewhere" in Mavenlink. I knew our documents were safe with Mavenlink, but finding them could be a bit tricky.
I found this software to be more confusing as a non-project manager. The user experience was less-than-great and I often wasted time looking for documents that were hidden somewhere deep in the Mavenlink database. The design of the software is also not very appealing to me. It feels very stale.

Mavenlink is a wonderful software to use if you are looking for an easy-to-use project management tool.
Mavenlink is easy to use and fairly intuitive. We've had no problems with the software and they are making monthly updates to add new and useful features based on customer feedback. Project tracking is the primary reason we use Mavenlink and our workflow has never been better. I really don't know how we managed without Mavenlink before.
The main issue we are having with this software currently is when it comes to deadlines changing. At this time you can update the project deadline but non of the project related tasks will readjust to the updated deadline.

Mavenlink is pretty awesome! Though it can seem a bit pricey, the tool itself covers a wide array of what our company needs on a daily basis: from project management to billing integration with our Quickbooks. When it comes customer service, you can get ahold of chat service within seconds any day or time of the week.
Project Management Milestone Management Task Management Resource Management Invoicing Planning App integration
Mobile app still needs work Pricey, but not that much in the grand scheme of things. Needs better scheduling views such as calendar or kanban style options

It would be great if some fields were auto-populated. For example, as a recruiter, I need to manually type in my name, my Business Manager's name, and location every time I create a new resource record. It should automatically fill these fields out for me with the ability for me to override when needed.
Kimble does what our Management Consulting firm needs it to do. It tracks opportunities and resources, and has reporting functions.
This software tool could be much easier for users, it requires tons of manual data entry which is very administrative in nature.

-good training resources and support -great beginning to end project management -flexible -ability to select settings and setup in a way to optimize your business -analytics / canned reports are a great way to understand the business -connects with many other software allowing data flow back and forth
-custom reporting is complicated. Highly recommend the Mavenlink Business Intelligence solutions training for a good understanding of custom reporting capabilities.

It is great for project management and time tracking. We are still reviewing resource management to use that moving forward.
Being able to track time and allows you to hold project management of all your projects in one location.
The connections between the different levels: User, Project, and Tasks. When it comes to reporting, it would be a lot easier if these were all joined. Right now, we need to pull data out of Mavenlink and manipulate it in excel to see the metrics.

I've been using Mavenlink for over 2 years now and I've loved it from the beginning. Compared to other systems I've used, Mavenlink has been the easiest to use both as a PM as well as a contributor.
- The UI is fantastic and very intuitive - Collaborating at the project level has been helpful and productive - Having all key project information in one place is a huge plus - Timesheet management is so much more easier - Invoicing is easy now! - Assigning tasks and being able to see what's assigned to you is effective and efficient
The only Con I can think of is the inability to have the status of a project or the task drive accessibility. In other words, if a task is marked as complete (status), then resources wouldn't see it in their timesheet. The workaround of just removing the resources once a task or project is complete is a bit time consuming.

Mavenlink has a user-friendly, intuitive interface that enables our consultants to enter their time and expenses quickly and easily. It's integration with Quickbooks allows us to import data from Mavenlink into the appropriate income and cost categories saving time from doing it manually. We also love the Master Planning feature to get a better handle on our backlog and revenue forecasting as well as resource utilization. This ties into the Analytics reporting feature that gives us the information critical to decision-making. Lastly, the application is continually upgraded with new features based on user input including ours.
There's not much to dislike. I'd like to see a more robust file storage capability so our clients can access documents through a tiered folder structure. I'd like to see the Analytics reports and invoices have the added capability for customization.

Overall I'm comfortable with the software although I don't think its good for everything.
Good wide-ranging visibility on things across the agency. Very customizable.
A lot of complexities that get lost or are irrelevant to what we use it for. Other teams using the software have issues with reporting. There's plenty of features that are better suited for other disciplines or not used at all. The data syncing and lag is something we work around but not ideal

It's stable and reliable. Mavenlink has never been down. I also like that it has the capacity to store all the workflow information. A person may not know how to find it but it is in the system somewhere.
It's not easy to tell the deadline for tasks or the amount of hours that can be billed for the project. I also don't like how the messages are displayed. Maybe present them as speech bubbles. I don't like Slack but Mavenlink could be a bit more joyful. I also resent the constant pointless marketing emails from Mavenlink. Seriously what is the engagement on those? Zoom, Slack, Microsoft Teams, no other application sends me so much email. The color scheme is also boring. It's not very bold. The blues are light. The grays are light. Whenever I use Mavenlink, it reminds me that I'm a cog. I also don't like how one enters their timesheet. Workday is a better interface.

I spent a lot of time setting searching for a project management tool that worked well within our company, gave us all the information we were looking for, was easy to work with, looked good and didn't force us to change our existing processes and ways of doing things. Mavenlink was the only software that even came close to our needs and since we started using it, it has really changed things around for our company. Thanks to all the information & financial insights that Mavenlink delivers, we are finally able to make decisions that are based on facts instead of gut feeling.
Mavenlink is very user-friendly and made it really easy for us to introduce the software to our staff. All information is kept in one place, which makes information-sharing much easier and everyone on the project has a better and more realistic idea of timelines, deliverables, allocated time etc. The support and customer service has been excellent so far, so a big thank you to Vanessa! The live chat is very useful and I also love that Mavenlink listens to its clients' feedback and uses their experience to improve the functionality.
The integration with Quickbooks UK is still very basic so we can't really make use of it at the moment. The time tracking could also be simplified as it can get a bit confusing.

Mavenlink is a tool that definitely helps with project management, time tracking, and resource management. I would like to see it become a bit more colorful and implement some of the features that other project management and agile tools have as standard such as: color coding and duplication of entire projects.
I like the ease of adding tasks, making templates for projects, logging time for tasks, and scheduling shared resources.
I would like to be able to color-code things (tasks and projects) to more easily tag similar items. I would prefer to see when posts were added to the activity feed and not just which day. I would like to be able to see a resource's task list from their perspective. It would save a lot of time if you could duplicate a project if all but a few details were going to be identical.

Mavenlink is a good project management tool and I enjoyed using it for several years. It's great at keeping track of tasks for just about any business. You can have multiple sub-layers of tasks. There is built-in time-tracking available. You can invoice from the program when tied to 3rd-party invoicing tools (like QuickBooks)
The main con is that it's very expensive compared to very similar tools (that are arguably better performing). You have to pay for every user (even freelancers), which doesn't make sense in today's market. The design is a bit behind many competitors like Teamwork and Asana.

They started out good for the price. Now their customer service is subpar, their product has not evolved well, and they are charging more. Non-responsive, non-customizable dashboard. They lock you into a contract and quote user agreement when you question their changes and usability. Would never recommend to anyone.

poor service, poorly evolved product, locked into a contract, no custom dashboard, raised their prices, non responsive site

This has streamlined project management within our agency, and made us more efficient with our time dedicated to project planning.
I like that I can create templates for projects and groupings of tasks. I also like that I can export just about any information I need to an Excel spreadsheet/CSV file.
I don't like the automatic update to move a date out in Gantt view when I'm trying to create a dependency for a task following a task before it that occurs on the same day. It's pretty annoying.

Overall, Mavenlink is a very valuable tool in the workplace that allows for collaboration and a lot of organization.
Mavenlink is a great place to keep all files, conversations, and time tracking in one interface. I enjoy collaborating with team members within the tool, while also being able to reference relevant files and attachments.
Mavenlink could have a calendar view for more visual people. I also don't like that the hours allocated to a project aren't reflecting the hours you have for yourself, but for anyone assigned on the task - this is confusing since one can just assume all those hours are for themselves.

Long story short, there are better project management tools out there. I would recommend using Trello and AirTable well before Mavenlink if you want a better experience for your team.
Mavenlink works as project management software. You can create tasks, track time, and attach essential info. But it feels bare-bones and doesn't have as friendly of an interface as other project management software.
I've used Mavenlink, Trello, and AirTable, and Mavenlink is easily my least favorite. It's less user-friendly and more difficult to track a project from start to finish. The interface is more convoluted and for lack of a better term, ugly.

Mavenlink is not a bad product and it's intuitive with the features that are built out. Would be helpful if there was more functionality added to track budgeting within the tool without having to rely on reporting solely.
I really love the ease of tracking time and the multiple options you have as a user of the system. The system is intuitive and there are great resources for reporting.
Master planning and PM tasks are very difficult from a budget perspective. It is hard to view budgets and manage a project for multiple users in the UI. Forces you to use exports and reporting to get the information you need.

Certain tasks including time keeping and overall project organization are assisted by Mavenlink. Document uploads are easy and conversation threads are intuitive for the most part. The search feature works well.
In the face of so many more streamlined solutions, it feels like Mavenlink hasn't kept up. It's a little clunky in that there are so many places to put information, and too many ways to do it that make things more disorganized than not.
Thank you for your feedback. We will forward this onto our product team and strive to do better. We are happy to have your Client Success Manager reach out to you to learn more about your use case and help you better streamline a process that could help you keep things more organized. Mavenlink solves a common workplace problem: too many tools and platforms to worry about. Its integration is great.
By far the best part of Mavenlink is its all-in-one nature. Having time tracking, financial reporting, task assignment/management all in one place is beautiful!
It definitely took a little getting used to. As a project manager, I found it fairly intuitive, yet my colleagues in Creative and Development found it hard to adjust to.

It is easy to use for clients as all they need to do is check the dates and post questions. Files tab is good as a centralised place to store documents, photos etc.
Hard to poinpoint one feature. Very clunky and unintuitive. Ganntt chart is not worth the time - cannot be intuitively exported as a PDF or excel spreadsheet and the task tracker also cannot be intuitively exported. Very clunky to edit each module. Not being able to insert pictures into text in comments makes complex solutions difficult to post on the activity feed.

It was a great software for my timesheets and project management. It was great for inputting time, managing project due dates and milestones, storing calendars and uploading images if needed to share as well. I would recommend for small to medium sized businesses.
I used Mavenlink for 2 years for my timesheets and project management. It was great for inputting time, managing project due dates and milestones, storing calendars and more. It also stores pdfs for storyboards and other image sharing.
It could be a little cleaner interface for navigating to different categories. But it was mostly pretty user friendly for my needs.

Mavenlink is a great tool if it makes sense for your company's budget. I'm not part of the decision making about purchases so I can't speak to the cost, but it seems mid level compared to some other PM tools.
Mavenlink is great for collaborative work and is very easy to use. I picked it up right away as a new hire and rely on it to communicate with members of my team at all stages of project management from initial concepting through the review and launch process. I absolutely love it for time tracking so I can see which projects I spend the most time on.
It would be nice if Mavenlink had a mobile app with push notifications. As far as I know, it has a mobile optimized version of the web for use on the go, but a dedicated app would be great.
