I like the variety with access to different tabs and Mavenlink could be a great software with some tweaks.
A lot of the features and functionality are not built effectively. It takes so much time to create projects and edit projects. There are no easy way to mass create tasks and create projects in both a timely and effective manner.
We are sorry about your experience and appreciate your feedback. You can use templates to mass create repeatable tasks within a project, also, when creating projects, there is a Save and Clone button that will clone the information you put in to create a new project as well. If there is a need to create lots of projects and tasks all at once, you can use the API or some of the services tools that we have built to bulk upload data. Please feel free to call us at 800-860-9544 if there's anything else that we can assist you with or to connect you with your CSM and or email our support team at support@mavenlink.com. You can also find more information here at mavenlinktrainingcenter.com. Thank you and have a wonderful day.

Tasks were easy to manage and duplicate as templates once imported into the system once. I really liked the feature where you could update project managers/admins on how far things were completed - saved up a lot of time and unwanted "Where are you on this?" emails/Slacks/etc.
It was easy for tasks to get muddled together. User permissions could be improved to not let just anyone provide updates within the project.

Mavenlink is a project management tool that has help formalize our internal processes for project management. The real time project metrics are something that has helped us plan accordingly.
We wish the integration with Salesforce and email was more robust.

I am a new user to ML and I think it is a great software package. When you have multiple people updating a project, it is great that all notes are in one place. Being able to tag someone specific is huge. This not only coordinates communication, but it also tracks time on a project. It is so quick and easy to get updates. I also like that you can link your post to a specific job function. I did not receive any specific training on this software, but was able to basically pick it up right away and be able to be somewhat efficient with it right away. Great product.
I like that you can be "tagged" so that when a message is posted, it can be directed to the right person and you don't have to read through the entire message to know if it pertains to you or not.
I find it a little difficult when you need to go back to try and find a previous post, I find that the thread gets buried and I have a hard time finding what I'm looking for. This actually happened to me yesterday and I probably spent 15 minutes trying to find the right post.

It goes deeper than some of the competitors but is not very user-friendly when creating projects. Not very intuitive at all. Inability to create "placeholder" tasks within a project and run scenarios. Time tracking is extensive but very confusing. Onboarding fee very high compared to competitors and is very cookie cutter.
Very deep and detailed project planning. Excellent analytics capabilities. Multiple view options. Solid Mobile implementation.
Display and printing options very limited. No dedicated Mobile App. Setup and support are pricey for the level and detail of training they deliver. Very difficult to create planning scenario projects. If you want to "spec" out a project plan and not include actual team members receiving e-mails, etc. you can't do that in any meaningful way. Certain actions are "forced" so you can't override certain functions in order to create "what if" scenarios. Additional licenses are required even for creating users who will barely interact with the system. It gets expensive quickly.

Overall it had been good so far. Working had been flawless and as expected.
Application is user friendly with some key features available not commonly available in other counterparts
Reporting basis the data captured at backend is very limited. User is still required to download data and run analytics. There should be some basic flexibility over creating some frequently used/reffered views on data

When I started my new job as Project Director at Primitive Spark, we had a variety of systems for managing our clients and operations, but most were not connected. After researching a ton of project management tools, we found Mavenlink to be as robust as we needed it to be without being overwhelming. The quick snapshots of the Analytics reports let you know if you're on track while the trends that are pulled from the Insights are very powerful to help us manage and course correct our estimate, resourcing and burn rate. Onboarding was easy and I always felt I had the support needed. So happy to have a single tool to help me do my job successfully.
Resourcing, Scheduling for projections, the ability to compare actuals vs. scheduled/estimates, timetracking with a timer/timesheet or in the weekly timesheet tool - flexibility to do it however works best for you. Easy onboarding of team...
The Gantt chart is slow to load when you have a large project plan, there is no in tool estimate feature really that is comprehensive, there are workarounds, but would love to see that added.

Mavenlink allows our leadership to get a current view of what is happening in our business. As updates are made to schedules, the reporting is dynamic to show that change!
I wish there were a little more Microsoft Project functionality when managing your projects. I also wish there was a way you could "publish" your schedule to a web server so others could see your schedule without logging in to the tool.

Much better than other systems I've used in the past. A lot of the tasks I perform regularly are deeply nested in various screens. Would be great to have a 'favorite' or 'bookmark' feature.
It's easier than most products I've used at other agencies.
Lack of a 'favorites' feature. Different users of course have different regular tasks. Would be nice if the few things I do most often I could 'favorite' and have on the home screen or nav.

Easy to use and has useful features. Efficient to use.
It's not completely accessible to people with disabilities and they need some help in accessing some of the features such as adding or removing values from the timesheet.

We use the tool to track the production of all projects our department receives. We rely on the Timeline tab to track our deliverables to be sent to clients so they understand the length of a project and when they are responsible for feedback.
A better reporting functionality. No way for someone not on every project to see the big picture. Would also like to see a cleaner section for communication.

Best detailed resource scheduling tool on the market. The ability to see capacity by person and by team has been life changing.
Slow to release new features. Online chat support is a nice feature, but knowledge of chat assistants could be greater.

The platform is very easy to understand and manage all your project management activities at one glance. Its robust features like resource planning and fund management are simply cool to plan and make it go live.
If you have to jump start and join a project meeting i dont think mavenk tool will help you easy navigate. the best way is to click on the link which you will recieve an email.

We like the ability to share a work space with clients
It is cumbersome and tough to get reporting out of. Also just the general space used for reporting leads to scroll bars inside of scroll bars.

The software is easy to use and intuitive. It has all features easily accessible and provides a one stop shop to manage projects. Linking all project workspaces together and providing views to portfolios gives a decent understanding of the projects across the organization.
Reporting on projects is not well embedded especially status reports and project Gantts. The dependency management can be improved on the Gantt view. Columns need to be made customizable on the task and the Gantt view.

Mavanlink is good for managing projects WHEN it works. Initially when I purchased the software I was expecting a smooth sync between Quickbooks and Mavenlink- not the case. I ended up having to convert from Enterprise on my desktop to QB online in order for the sync to happen. That was not an additional task that I signed up for when I purchased the software. Even with the QB online, many times I am unable to create a project from a QB estimate which was the entire reason I purchased the software
Great for managing projects
Doesn't always sync with quickbooks. Customer service sucks unless you pay for it. Does not have a to-do area, only projects
Thank you Barry for your review. We are happy that you feel Mavenlink is great for managing projects. We are sorry to hear that the Quickbooks sync was not to your standards. Your CSM has reached out to you this week to further assist you and better service you moving forward. We will strive to do better. Great for consulting firms with consultants in house, and freelancers. Helps hit budget targets for profitability and resource utilization. Monthly or recurring expenses and one-off expenses are wonderfully managed, and future planning is realistic and tracking tasks and issues through GANTT charts is decent.
Mavenlink helps my team to manage resources, tasks, clients and budget in an extremely efficient and streamlined manner. Profitability for projects and related reports are easily generated, resources (team members) can be assigned to projects and utilization prediction also helps in future planning for projects.
Considering to switch from a renowned PM software, we are considering Mavenlink throughout our operations, however the software does need a bit of tweaking here and there, e.g. search feature. It does do the job effectively, however not really the software to pay for when in a construction based consultancy.

Robust project plans & tracking. Meets the needs of our whole team (not just professional services)
Small nuances (ability to make fields mandatory), Allowing client collaboration, easy ways to simplify or remove "noise" on the site. Many clients don't need all the options given.
