Overall, Microsoft PowerBI is a well-known business intelligence application that is extensively utilised by businesses of all kinds. Its robust data visualisation features, data connection choices, and capacity to find insights using AI and machine learning make it a useful tool for organisations looking to extract more value from their data. However, for certain users, the steep learning curve, restricted...
PowerBI enables users to connect to a wide range of data sources and generate visually beautiful visuals that bring data to life and make it easier to comprehend. The programme is also extremely customisable, allowing customers to design dashboards and reports that are tailored to their individual requirements. PowerBI's mobile capability and connection with Microsoft products like as Excel make it an excellent alternative for enterprises that require on-the-go data access and interaction. Furthermore, PowerBI's AI and machine learning features enable users to quickly uncover insights and trends in their data, making it a useful tool for businesses of all sizes.
PowerBI has a steep learning curve, making it difficult for new users to rapidly become acquainted with the product. For some users, particularly those new to business intelligence and data analysis, this might be a barrier to entrance. Because PowerBI lacks a powerful data preparation tool, users may find it difficult to clean, process, and prepare their data for analysis. This might be a disadvantage for those that require more complex data preparation operations.

Microsoft Power BI is a powerful tool for business analytics, offering a diverse range of features such as data visualization, modeling, and analysis. Its user-friendly interface, wide selection of data connectors, and ability to handle large volumes of data are some of the reasons why I appreciate it. Additionally, value its flexibility in terms of customization and integration with other Microsoft products

despite the price, in general I like the tool and I see several possibilities to use it even as a statistical tool
Powerbi has many possibilities for visualizing data and making reports. it is possible to connect with simple databases and with more complex ones as well. the range of visuals and features make it the ideal tool for a company's kPIs team. the mobile option helps with routines and saves time
it is not easy to create the metrics and what is needed is a deeper training so that the Dashboards are smart, fast and functional. the premium license is very expensive and an intermediate license could be made, with fewer features, but which is more affordable for small businesses

Although Microsoft Power BI provides a wide range of features, some users believe that some of them could be improved. My overall experience is great, using it to compile, perform ETL, prepare reports and create Dashboards is simply powerful.
This is a great tool that integrates perfectly with Microsoft Excel (they are from the same family) it really makes life easy. Another great feature is the possibility to connect with a wide variety of sources such as Google Analytics, Facebook, SQL, data files, cloud files, and the list goes on. Free to use and very affordable price. Finally their visualization features are also impressive.
Like any other tool, we found a high amount of the time required to train and master it, when you try to go beyond create reports, you would need to learn about additional tools like Gateways and Report Server. In addition, their language DAX is not the easiest language to work with, but nothing some training and research can't solve.

It is an affordable software that enables us to consolidate our data, generate reports while keeping track of all the key performance indicators.
It is a good data analytics and visualization software and its ability to import data from multiples sources is a great feature. What I like about Power BI is that from the dashboard, we are able to get a great overview of the organization including the market analysis, the status of our current deals, track the performance of each team member, view the gross income and company financials. The ability...
It can be a bit complex due to the fact that it is a collection of various tools and you have to learn what each component does and how it relates to the rest of the structure. Working with large data sets causes lags especially when on the free version. The free version has very limited features and doesn't give you the true performance capability of the software. This can however be solved by upgrading to Pro or Premium. The user interface is a bit crowded with too many icons which hinders a clear view of the dashboard.

So so. The dashboards and reports are limited in visual design, so they all look the same and quite ugly. Because of the difficulty sharing reports/dashboards to external individuals and the lack of a Google sheets connector I couldn't use PowerBI for most of the solutions we need, but will use it for some since it integrates well with the rest of the MS office ecosystem.
The thing that most sets PowerBI apart from comparable business intelligence solutions is the lower cost of multi-user deployment within an organization. PowerBI is part of a Microsoft Office 365 subscription package for businesses and you only need to pay an additional 15USD/month for each additional admin/analyst account you add. This is a stark contrast to similar solutions like Tableau, which charge a monthly fee for each user and has a minimum user count that equates to roughly a 15,000USD/year license cost as minimum. If your organisation is already invested in the Microsoft Office ecosystem this could be the ideal solution for you if you need to keep costs down.
It can't connect to google sheets and every other business intelligence platform can. This can be really limiting if your business uses a variety of SaaS solutions since many offer the simplest data integration options via Google sheets. PowerBI also has real issues with external sharing of dashboards/reports. You only have the option of publishing internally (visible to your organization's users)...

1. Dax query is highly reliable when comes to slice and dice the granular level data based on time trend. 2. Embedded report and dashboard in any kind of business applications easily and it becomes part of it.
1. Free desktop tool for development(Power BI Desktop) and simple installation process. 2. Almost, we can connect many source to fetch the data. Ex csv, web, excel, sql, odbc etc.., 3. Specialized ETL(Extract, transform, load) to clean the raw unstructured data into structured data with help of Power Query. 4. Powerful DAX query to customized measure and calculated column to get desirable business metrics and KPIs. 5. Top standard visuals, Custom visuals(visual market) and also we can create our own visuals using reactjs. 6. Publish in cloud(azure) to view report anywhere in the world with help Power BI service. 7. High availability and low latency to view report and dashboard with help of xVelocity engine. 8. Anyone can easily create basic charts with structured data.
1. Power BI Desktop consumes a huge amount of resource in system. 2. Service monitoring increases for larger report consumers. 3. While dealing with an enormous volume of data, constant optimization takes place.

Overall good software for beginners and can be explored to get the best efficiency from the software
below are a few pros • Sharing dashboard in a group a. Sharing can be done once you have the Pro version of Power BI. Dashboard can be shared with the respective department members or your own team members. b. Since you have prepared the dashboard you will be the owner and you can decide whether you want to give the other members only viewing rights or editing rights as well. c. With this feature...
• One of the important features of exporting report in PowerPoint does not allow custom visual to be exported. Hence if there are custom visuals in your report then the same will show error once exported. • Arranging dashboard is a bit tedious and takes a lot of time • To share reports, we need to publish to MS Cloud. We cannot share report from Power BI Desktop • For sharing a report even members to who report needs to be shared have to get Power BI Pro. Since the department to whom report is shared is just to view giving them a Pro license might not be useful.

It's easily the most feature rich overall. Other products like Tableau and Qlik have their advantages, but I'm hard pressed to find much fault with Power BI, other than the premium licenses being ridiculously expensive. The word is Microsoft is addressing that issue later in 2020/2021.
The features and ease of creating visualizations are top notch. Also integration with all other Microsoft products as well as pre-built connectors to many of the most popular software is hard to beat.
There are many features not available unless you pay for expensive premium capacity.

All in all, for the price, this is an excellent tool for helping your organization turn mounds of data into useful insights.
Power BI simplifies the process of combining different types of data sources to create a single data model. There are also many built-in Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) functions that help reduce the time required to prepare data. Creating reports and dashboards is as easy as drag and drop. The Power BI User Groups are strong and plentiful, so you can always read through blogs to get answers to...
It's not always easy to speak directly with a MS Power BI expert, so that is a bummer. Also, you have to sign up to the Power BI service using an email address in order to share and view Power BI reports and dashboards, but Microsoft doesn't yet support personal (.cox, .gmail, et.) or government (.gov, .mil, etc.) email addresses which is a real bummer.

I am generally satisficed with the product, price and ease of learning with lots of YouTube video and the Power BI community, there is always something new to learn and implemented to improve or help meet your reporting requirements.
Easy to get started with Power BI if you are on the Microsoft 365 platform. The ease of connecting with SharePoint is the strong point for my review. Having the Power Bi connected to the SharePoint system provides the opportunity to...

Power BI allows me to manipulate data and present it in visually appealing and flexible formats.
I have used Tableau and Google Data Studio - among other alternatives. Nothing has seemed to compare to the functionality that Power BI offers. Everything about the program is made with the full spectrum of analysis in mind - from the designer to the data 'wrangler' to the end consumer (ie. others within the enterprise). In this way, Power BI is extremely powerful because it can be used for so many different types of projects; the data-analysis intensive to the more visual 'data-presentation' dashboards.
Sharing dashboards and reports in Power BI is easy and it has a lot of options for doing so. However, the requirement that all users must have a Pro Account to view dashboards created in Pro is a bit of a hindrance in a global organization where it does not make economical sense for every employee to have a Pro account. It seems like it would be a great addition to allow limited sharing to everyone - even those without a Pro account, as most of my internal team does not have an account.

The greatest business intelligence and data analytics software is Microsoft Power Bi Desktop, which guarantees that accurate data-driven insights are retrieved for corporate decision-making and smooth implementation. We can analyze, analyze, and even build dashboards using data in a variety of formats that have greater processing capability for rows and columns than Excel. Additionally, the visuals are considerably more exquisite and diversified. When I get stuck with DAX code, Power BI community articles and the DAX language's simplicity come in handy. Power BI is far more user-friendly and intuitive, in my opinion. I would strongly advise any organization seeking a BI solution to use this.
Power BI's inability to produce bespoke infographics as quickly as Tableau is its main drawback. Direct connections may be made between Power BI Desktop and PostgreSQL DB. However, we are unable to directly link PostgreSQL DB with the Power BI service. Additionally, the cost of the program has to be drastically reduced so that more small and underutilized enterprises may benefit from it and use its features to their best potential.

If you have worked with Office tools, you would grasp the basic functionality very quickly. It's very user-friendly. The power comes from a plethora of data source connectors that it provides out of the box. I am also impressed by its data visualization capabilities. It also integrates well with other Microsoft products. Best of all - it's free for most use cases. The cloud version offers a lot more options for storage and collaboration at a modest price. It's also easy to switch between the desktop and cloud versions.
The desktop app can be sluggish at times, especially if you are dealing with large and varied data sets. Also, to utilize its more powerful features, you need to have a greater learning curve than competing products. Cloud integrations are also not very easy to configure and connections to on-prem and SaaS data sources can be challenging.

We use it for some reporting however have moved to Tableau mainly because the buy in towards Tableau is greater.
It is fairly easy to use and allows for a great variety in visualizations. Fairly cheap compared to other competitors and the free option is a bonus. The community providing new visualizations is a great bonus as well.
Other platforms like Tableau are much easier to use in terms of self-service BI and seem to do better performance wise

Overall it's great software which summarize your all data in reporting and dashboard forms without any errors. Further it's also provide multiple data visualization report and format.
The best I like about Power BI that's it's desktop version is free and you can create your data and prepare different reporting dashboard and data reports without any cost. Further this can easily integrated with Excel and you can view all power BI report in excel as well. Also Microsoft update this software on monthly basis and user can suggest thier recommendation for further improvement in any features.
The least I like I in power BI that's it's interface view which is too bulky and mess. And it's complicated formula which is difficult to understand. Further if you want to handle big data in Power Bi you can't do this in free version. You have to purchase this for advanced feature and space.

Really good tool that visualize and provide comprehensive reports based on the analysis carried out. Primarily used with the integration to Security Operations Centre for reporting and data visualizing with ease of implementation and creation of data models.
Simple to use solution that can be easily implemented through the utilisation of data models in a faster manner. The ease of learning and mastering the solution compared to competing products has made it easier to get IT professionals in other domains to master the product. The drag and drop interfaces enables easier creation of reports and dashboards by users with limited expertise in the product.
We are having challenges when importing larger volumes of data into the platform in the free version where subscriptions are required. The export of reports to standard formats a bit challenging in the perspective of designing specially with the addition of visuals, animations and or customisations. Challenges can pop-up in the integrations with SaaS solutions.

Power BI is awesome for companies which use Microsoft products on daily basis and for experienced excel users. if you got both things this is the low price answer to handle the data of the company.
To start it is important to tell that Power BI, as is part of Microsoft business suite, is linked to other tools as Excel and SQL Server. Therefore the integration of the data of the company in one place is very easy. Power BI has a very good capabilities for report visualization, having more than 10 different kinds of charts you are able to represent the data of the company in a huge variety of formats making analysis pretty fast and easy. Let me tell you the database connectivity capabilities are outstanding with excellent cloud based connections as well.
Using Power BI will be challenging if you are not a powerful Excel user. It has no way to clean up wrong data. The system assumes the data you are pulling in has good quality. Power BI sometimes is too complex to use because has many options to handle data and setting it for the first time becomes hard.

very powerful, easy to use and deployment. It works best with other Microsoft product, such as Teams.
It becomes costly when you want to share a report or a dashboard to a wide range of users. Because it requires the viewer to have a Pro license, it could be as expensive as Tableau.

Analytics world is the future, and Power BI is the master of all that Glob...!
As my experience as MIS Specialist in one of the most famous Fragrances Company in the Middle East, we see that in any company there's the accounting department that provide all reports and analytics that's demanded by other departments, according to that those guys have to do all there outcomes reports manually, and this process will cost time, efforts, stuffs,... for that one of great benefit from MS Power BI, is that he save me money, save me time, save me my the cost of wages for the accountants, my stuff in the accounting department is just about 5 great guys. All the mater is just I have to design the report and working on the Data Warehousing a little bit, then I can get my report in the target template that provide me all what I want, and furthermore, all reports up-to-date 7/24.
We still need the integration with other services, like Vend POS, Shopify directly without any intermediate programs.
