Pros
  • This software is definitely easy to use and very easy to organize. I love that I can share documents with co-workers without giving them the ability to edit my document.Kerry M.Read the full review
  • It's very easy to use in general. Teams, OneDrive and sites work like a charm, but if you want to get the most out of it and is office integration you need to do some reading.Oscar Enrique P.Read the full review
  • I really liked the ability to create teams and groups within Sharepoint in order to manage sites on the fly. Having the ability to comment and or attach documents with complete ease.Larry R.Read the full review
Cons
  • Worst thing I see and it is more of a user problem than software problem, is that people can name files whatever they want and it can get dificult to find files.Scotty S.Read the full review
  • Because it has so many features, it can be confusing sometimes. Also, if someone delete something by mistake, there is no way to retrieve the data back.Verified ReviewerRead the full review
  • The only problem I can think of, is the lack of knowledge of users who might hinder the documents or create duplicates. This can then get cumbersome for admins to oversee and rectify.Nithya G.Read the full review

Pros
Good for the basics with a low cost price that reflects that. Helpful for team projects and file sharing.

Cons
Could be more robust. Would recommend it schools or businesses with minimal needs. Not an all in one solution.

Sharepoint is a never ending money hole...you'll eventually throw in the chips and take the loss of your investment.

The whole platform is a slippery slope to Office365...starts out cheap and then gradually gets more expensive

Pros
It's fully customizable. You can embed your own website inside of Sharepoint and use it as an intranet. Virtually any feature you want to add can be built into the site.

Cons
The problem is it's not functionally complete out of the box. You need to pay a developer to customize the site and make it do the things you want....but then MS will just update it, breaking all the things you've built...so you fork out more development money to fix it.... It breaks frequently, virtually no support form microsoft.

I would recommend but we are trying to go a different route and see it that works.

Pros
It works well and is easy to use. It has a good uptime and I don't think we have ever really had problems with it. End users don't have any problems either.

Cons
The biggest con is the cost. For a much cheaper costs you can get the same thing. We use it for our intranet but we are switching next year to a cheaper alternative.

We use Sharepoint daily on my organization to track projects progress and share ideas overall. A typical scenario may be as simple as form to track IT requests and as complex as setting up a temporary Intranet while formal one is under maintenance or being migrated.

Pros
- Sharepoint is widely available which means that you can be effective with this tool regardless of where you work - Included with many Microsoft services subs - Very well documented and a plethora of tutorials is available - Quite flexible and can be used for almost anything, from Intranet sites and forms to document repos.

Cons
- While pricing is competitive it is not the cheapest option - Not everything can be stored on Sharepoint

SharePoint is great for a team environment in that people are able to see everything in one place.

Pros
Ability to view shared documents Upload calendars such as PTO Direct employees to view company SOPs Have a functional company library

Cons
The cost is relatively high for what you get. There are some cheaper solutions out there with a better value-add. Also, there are almost too many features and things can get lost in the weeds if you don't keep an eye out.

We use to it to store all of our content and it makes it cheaper for us than having to purcahse an LMS.

Pros
the great thing with sharepoint is that it can serve as an LMS for organizations that don't have the funds to purchase one. It's a great place to organize content and to make it functional for multiple departments.

Cons
It can be hard to use and can get quite crowded if you don't optimize it correctly. It is best to use in conjunction with an admin to make sure that people don't just add random content as it can be hard to manage.

Easy online library for our employees. Also! It will link into CRM, so it frees up a lot of storage space there (for a lot cheaper).

Pros
It can help answer a lot of common questions that our employees have. We use it like an online library (internal only). So we've put all our training documents there as well as product info and employee handbook, etc.

Cons
We didn't have a firm plan when it was implemented and too many people had access so it turned into a massive info dump. So we have a lot of garbage data to clean up.

Being a sharepoint designer and developer for 3 years I have to say this is one of the worst products ever. The UI is counter intuitive and in typical microsoft fashion it ignores all the tested and proven standards out there and tries to make its own which means the software simply doesn't work with other browsers the way it should. Terrible terrible software. And extremely expensive.

Search for any file easily, we have thousands of files and sharepoint can help you get the file instantly. You can add permissions to any file in the drive.

If you just need to file share and have some basic collaboration between people within your company, it's way better then dropbox but if you need to build experiences for your teams, your customers and drive better engagement, this isn't what they push it to be..

Pros
cheap, well integrated into the Microsoft stack of servers and tools. Setting it up, creating folders and giving permissions to people to upload/share documents couldn't be easier.

Cons
It is difficult to really leverage it when compared to other CMS or portal platforms. Customzing the content models, workflows and delivery views are not really it's strong suit.

1. Better file distribution 2. Collaborative editing capabilities 3. File storage and sharing

Pros
To begin with, I like everything about SharePoint-from design all the way to interface. For that reason, SharePoint is a user-friendly software since it has a simple interface. That way, you only need to get the right tutorials or training in order to work like a pro with it. SharePoint is one of the best collaboration tool that we incorporate in our agency. With SharePoint it is easy to have slide shows and web sharing. That way, it is easy to share files within our corporation. Last but not least, I like SharePoint since it integrates with other vital platforms that we incorporate at workplace.

Cons
So far the only issue that I have is pricing. Microsoft should offer SharePoint at a favorable cost estimation to entice prospective customers.

Pros
The tool really serves as a collaborative in the business. It will promote different interactions with employees. There are several interesting features, namely the project sites, the wiki (which is used as a business software to record tips and tricks). There is still a dimension given to the wall (in the spirit facebook) that allows to interact on a newsfeed

Cons
The big brake of this tool is the price. It remains quite expensive, even if microsoft pushes the cloud version with office 365. The price is also felt to customize the outi. Moreover to solicit an integrator is an obligation to have a nice interface

Good features for internal business applications

It is better to look at more cost-effective solutions for hosting simple solutions, unless the cost is within your budget and you can afford dedicated admins.

Pros
This was a good solution for moving the team's internal communications and document storage onto, which made it accessible anywhere with internet. Moving things off the local server not only made access easier, but also more secure. With notifications for all the check-ins and check-outs, you have a clear record of who has made changes and when.

Cons
It is probably too costly for a small business that is only going to use its out-of-the-box features. Training for both the administrators and the users is definitely needed if implementing a Sharepoint solution
