Lots and lots of features, flexible for many industries.

Pros

Comprehensive & quick tech support via chat or email, extensive knowledge base for questions. The software allows for extensive customization. I really like the ability to track the labor hours on each job, allowing for better job costing than some other software packages. There are so many features, we haven't even begun to take advantage of all of them!

Cons

If one user is invoicing a service dispatch and another user opens the same dispatch, the user doing the invoicing will lose all changes they have made, which can be quite frustrating. There is no warning to either user until it is already too late.

FieldEdge is the best field service, dispatching, and work order management software on the market.

I would recommend this software to any other company in plumbing or HVAC fields. FieldEdge has brought us a long way from paper invoicing early last year. The staff gets to know you on a personal level and that makes the customer support that much better.

Pros

Fast, reliable, has quick and knowledgeable customer support, very customer service oriented. Easy to use and train employees.

Cons

No cons that they aren't right on top of when brought up. Like any software, they have some bugs from time to time, but those get worked out very quickly and mostly go unnoticed.

Great. Again only thing I disliked was crashing during mobile.

Pros

Easy to use. Efficient and foreman’s seemed to like a lot. Only reason I changed software is due to company growth

Cons

Freezes up a lot of crashes in middle of using without WiFi connections. Seems better for smaller companies

ESC Keeps Us On Track

I am only now figuring out the full functionality of ESC, from managing our fleet schedules and inventory to keeping up with our service agreements. As a fairly new user, I was pleasantly surprised how user-friendly the Dispatch Dashboard is. I was able to get up and running with little training, resulting in zero downtime for my employer, and I always get a quick response from the Desco Support team whenever a question comes up.

Pros

I am most impressed with how common-sense the program is. While there is always room for improvement, and I am new to the dispatcher game, I can follow the service from the initial call to payment of invoices and easily sync it to QuickBooks for handling. Also, the app that has been downloaded on our phones make it easier to manage and track everything from off-site.

Cons

The version I have is not cloud-based, but that is easily fixable with an upgrade if we need it bad enough. However, we have found that so far the app works great for off-site management.

Lack of onboarding training. Not a lot of help from office. Most of the training and learning of the system has been done by me on my own.

Pros

Ability to use from anywhere and dispatch from anywhere.

Cons

not able to easily move old history to the software.

The best part of Fieldedge is the customer support. Everyone is always helpful and friendly!

Pros

I really like the scheduling features, and how it works seamlessly with Quickbooks online. We have used other systems that did not work like this.

Cons

I wish it had a feature that would send a notification to the customer when the Tech was headed their way.

The cost for our customers, and the true cost for the company was the first thing I realized, and it has helped completely . Being able to run the different reports has been a huge help.

Pros

I like the tracking abilities of the software, the invoices, work orders, technician time, parts tracking. This has made us more aware of our cost, and better for our customers.

Cons

Some of our techs are not tech savvy, and the mobile part explaining to our guys was the hardest for me. Getting them to use it to the full potential

Great customer support, they are always enhancing the software, very reliable.

Pros

The software is very user friendly and integrates with Quickbooks very well.

Cons

Transitioning to new software is always a challenge. I am not a fan of the mobile application.

Very happy so far, excited for the future!

Pros

ESC has given us great support. From onsite, to their regional training to the personal assistance as we have needed it. We chose to implement at the worst time, or should I say the busiest time of the year for us. They have still been there, helped us through and every day we get a little excited about what it can do and what the future will hold as we progress and learn more and more about how it can help make our company more efficient.

Cons

The biggest quirk has been the accounting portion that we started using as well. I do love the fact that it is all together and does not have to "integrate" with another program, although it will. Its just requires learning something new, more like the old peach tree and not like quickbooks at all. That is not all bad, there are so many other things that it will do that the other cant so just learning something new was the initial challenge.

Lots of information at your disposal, and always making improvements based on client feedback. Techs seem to be able to use the system and like it.

Cons

Some functions could use improvement such as payments to invoices not finalized. I did also like to see a little better phone support rather than the chat.

Oversold and Under Delivered

I was excited about the potential good F.E. could do for us, but we had a bad customer service experience at every turn. Their product may work great, but I wasn't willing to deal with the people and processes in order to get through the on-boarding. The first issue we had was over something simple. We asked to wait to on-board for one month, but they started calling and emailing us the day after...

Dont do it! The software is so slow and not very good. Lots of complaints from owners and employees.

Pros

The salesman. The rest is not worthy of installation in the HVAC industry. So slow.

Cons

To much to list! Slow, difficult to use, no response when we needed help. Biggest complaint from techs, they could never gain access and when they did it would delete all there notes causing delays with paperwork being done over several times, most of the time they could not complete paperwork at all so it would clog up the office the next morning with techs doing paperwork in the office!! The complete opposite of what we were trying to accomplish. I felt like we stepped back 8 years in time when we installed this crap program. Cost alot of money and time huge loss to our company financially. We wound up going back to our original software field service manager faster, cheaper and much better support by far!

Pros

I love having everything in one place. I don't have to use several different programs to get the information. Also, having the profitability of each work order is amazing and easily monitored.

Cons

The only thing that I would like to see some improvement on is the job section. We have a lot of construction jobs and there are some items that could be added and modified that would make this section much more efficient.

The product has been phenomenal asset to my growing company and as I change the product evolves as well to suit my needs. Support system is nothing like I have ever experienced before. It has been a great experience thus far and we've seen the wisdom and potential with growing our business with the FieldEdge System.

Pros

1. FieldEdge is a very intuitive tool that has streamlined Pohlman Plumbing & Home Services daily operational processes. 2. The dispatching drag & drop, creation of works orders, assigning multiple techs for multiple days is super easy. 3. Ability to generate detailed reporting for more granular Business Intelligence.

Cons

1. Google Map for the dispatching could be bigger. 2. Viewing multiple unassigned work order on the map at the same time. -When a technician arrives at a work order early, it does not move it on the dispatch board. Suggestion; it should move to show the office that they now have more time available on the board.

We have used Desco software for approximately 16 months now and it seems everyday we learn new things about it and new ways to use it to make our work day easier. From an office administrator point of view it has cut my billing/invoicing times in less than half. Billing that took me 6-8hrs now takes me less than two hours and I feel confident I did not miss anything. Dispatching is a breeze and reports...

Pros

ESC is the perfect blend of easy to use for new employees and customizable enough for our more experienced users. After watching the "How to Webinars" our new hires are able to hit the ground running. We also have a bunch of customers that want their dispatches / invoices done in really specific ways and ESC allows us to customize everything for them.

Cons

ESC is only compatible with limited accounting software packages. We love ESC but want to switch our accounting software but are unable to.

We are trying to be faster and more efficient with our billing and payments received. We can see instantly that the tech has done their job and can show the customer pictures right away.

Pros

The ease and user friendly it is. How the staff is constantly working on making new changes to it. The customer service I get from them if I have any questions.

Cons

Working on online, if my internet goes out then we go out!

I would highly recommend anyone looking into new software use their competitor Service Titan

Pros

Hard to say anything nice about the software when I have been working on getting flat rate items to work for over a month now.

Cons

Implementation of Callahan & Roach flat rate into FieldEdge has been an absolute nightmare. What should have been simple has not only taken way to long in my opinion but it has officially lost me money on a few service calls.
