How we picked the 4 top rated products

We chose the high-performing solutions on this list based on verified user ratings on our site. Depending on available data, qualifying products either had to be among the most user-reviewed or the most searched-for products in the job costing software category. They also needed to have sufficient reviews about scheduling, have a minimum user rating of 3 out of 5 for that feature, and show evidence of U.S. market presence. We then added a distinction for the product with the highest rating for scheduling based on our proprietary ratings and reviews. Sponsorship or client status has no influence on the selection of these products, but it may impact the order in which products appear.

User insights about the scheduling feature

Reviewers find ClockShark's scheduling helpful for planning and notifying teams about their weekly work schedules. They appreciate the ease of setting up schedules and the push notifications for real-time updates. Users highlight the color-coding feature for easy job assignment visibility. However, some mention difficulties with adding multiple shifts and sites, and the need for better integration with other systems. Despite these challenges, they find the scheduling tool beneficial for managing personnel and ensuring efficient project turnaround.
“The scheduling feature works almost perfect. It is great that you can color code jobs, so it is easy to see how is assigned to what jobs, and where. The only reason this did not get five stars, is that if you schedule someone at a job, but they end up working at a different jobsite, if the schedule is not changed to remove the original assignment, there is a Zero hour posting automatically entered into the daily time sheet that has to be deleted and it shows as an error. I wish it was optional for it to automatically post or not, if no time was entered for scheduled time.”

User insights about the scheduling feature

Users report that Contractor Foreman's scheduling offers multiple options, including Gantt charts and monthly calendars, which they find useful for presenting schedules to clients. They appreciate the ease of creating and adjusting schedules, although some find the interface clunky and cumbersome. Reviewers mention that the scheduling is effective for larger projects but needs improvement for smaller jobs and service work. They value the ability to notify customers and staff of schedule updates in real-time, aiding in project management and team coordination.
“very pleased with the fact that you get 3 options on scheduling, not all customers are familiar with gantt schedules so the monthly calendar come in handy and makes it much easier to present your schedule to your home renovations clients.”
