Great Gym Software

Reviewed 5 months ago

We have been extremely pleased with all aspects of the system. We have used ABC and Club Automation and for our simple needs this rocks it on all levels: price, product features, easy set up and integration, with great support.

Pros

We don't use all the features, but what we use works great and connects seamlessly to each module.

Cons

When we started using it we were hoping to connect it to our access system, but knew that was unlikely. As a 24-7 facility unattended access is needed and they seem to focus more on access when staffed. That's on us but would love to see some form of standard integration for more door access systems.

So Happy We Made the Switch

Reviewed 4 years ago

I could not be happier with this software, and I recommend it to literally everyone. The team behind it includes gym owners, developers, and designers who all work together on it. So it's super easy to use, and does all the things I need it to do. The product owners actively work on improving the software and are very receptive to and involved in the community of people using it. The customer service is exceptional. It was very easy to make the transition from our old software (MindBody). I stayed with MindBody *way* too long. My only regret is not making the switch sooner.

Pros

It does everything I need it to do, is super clear and easy to use, and the pricing is unbeatable for the value delivered.

Cons

There's no time clock feature and payroll is in beta. We have a small staff and use a spreadsheet to track time, so it's not a big deal. It is 100% worth it to use PushPress and keep track of time with other methods.

Took us from looking mom and pop, to presenting like a well established business w/ a tech staff

Reviewed 5 years ago
Pros

We run an athletic performance facility. A big portion of our athletes are below the age of 18. Pushpress allows the athlete/parent to sign the athlete up easily on line from landing pages. We are able to attach digital documents to the plans so waivers are signed by parent and stored digitally. Parents can pay online prior to attending class. We spend our time coaching instead of doing administrative...

Cons

Emails...some time the system sends emails to clients when I wish I had a clearer way of indicating if I want an email to go or not. Sometimes our clients get bombarded with emails and the email I actually need them to read and act upon is lost in the mix. Also the inability to change pricing on the fly for a plan without creating a discount. End up comping plan and charging to invoice...just...

Build your business on a platform that cares about your success!

Reviewed 3 years ago

The best! Excellent software aside, Push Press has proven their value to me by adding priceless resources such as the support of mentors to get my business moving in the right direction. 100%; Push Press is the reason my gym became profitable.

Pros

It works consistently! No crashes during peak hours and immediate response from customer support.

Cons

There are a few features I would like to see added in the future, i.e. the ability to direct certain emails to specific individuals on my team only (by individual; not by role).

Vendor response

Thank you so much for your review Joe! Hearing feedback like this is what really pumps us up!!! Our mission is to help gym owners succeed in every way we can, we will always fight for that end goal. Communications upgrade is on the table. It's been designed and comped. Latest coronavirus craze has pushed back some development and product efforts as we shifted attention to things that matter with this new way we all need to do business.

Very Much Worth Giving it A Shot

Reviewed 3 years ago

It has been great. If I have a question I can ask the Facebook group and usually get an answer from another user quickly. I have also done zoom calls with a team member to sort out some set up issues when I first started. Super simple and easy fixes.

Pros

First, I use Push Press Free and as a fairly new business, it was a lifesaver. I was at point where most gym software was too expensive but I needed the platform to keep track of payments, members, payment plans etc. The Push Press free model of revenue sharing was exactly what I needed and they even told me how much I should make a month before it fiscally made sense to switch to their paid version. There is also SO much this platform does. It links to my Google calendar and shows me exactly what I have going on that day. It generates URL's for my different plans that I can embed right into my website. I am for sure not using it to it's full potential but I feel like I can responsibly scale my business with their help.

Cons

The only thing is that it wasn't created for personal trainers as much as for full scale gyms with classes and programs. With that being said, the team has been very helpful in giving me ways and ideas to make it usable for my circumstance.

I appreciate being able to manage the gym when I'm not there. Keeping track of memberships and payments

Pros

I like the ease of using it. Anytime I have an issue the crew is always quick to help and fix it. I appreciate the cost. I have a small affiliate and the cost is affordable.

Cons

I wish there was an app versus having to use the website. I would like to see ACH it has been promised for years with no follow-through. Cleaner landing page links During my busiest times I feel that my check-in process and the laptop is slow and it take a lot of time for it to load or it doesn't load and then I'm having people sign in on a piece of paper. This creates more work for me.

Vendor response

Thank you for the review, Jess! This type of feedback is always useful. We just spent some time working on a fix for the check-in app slowness, let the support team know if you're still experiencing difficulty. Also, ACH is currently live in beta...reach out to support to get into the next cohort. It will be open to everyone in the next 30 days. Thanks for your patience!

PushPress is the best value with the best service on the market

Reviewed 4 years ago
Pros

The value of the software is second to none, I think. The people who created it are gym owners who understand how gyms, especially CrossFit-style gyms operate. Their customer support has always been great, too. Quick to respond or offer an answer. I also like that there's a Facebook community so you can see how others who are using the software may have already solved a certain problem you're facing -- like two people who share an email address.

Cons

It's kind of cumbersome to setup new clients, especially drop-ins, with "special requests." I coach one class and will frequently get people who say they were given a buy 2, get 1 free deal, or are offered 50% off a punch card, etc. Special exceptions are difficult. I wish I could just open one screen and put in the persons name, how many classes they get, and how much I want to charge them, if anything at all.

Pushing PushPress

Reviewed 4 years ago

Overall, PushPress makes running a gym significantly easier. Automated memberships alone are worth the time saved to run memberships.

Pros

-automation -customer service -cyber security This software allows for quick charges on items, event setup, attendance tracking, and member communication among other things. I appreciate the automatic drafting of memberships which takes the thinking out of the equation so I can focus on my actual business.

Cons

-membership cancellations -could use a point of sale device -cost per transaction Memberships cancelling is tough to navigate at times. It would be convenient to have a device for sales similar to the Square System. Personally looking forward to a less expensive option for transactions.

Great service

Reviewed 3 years ago

Pushpress makes it easy to process all kinds of payments, keep track of memebers, track inventory and more.

Pros

The customer service you get from PP is great. I truly feel like a value customer not just a easy payment. I get more help than i could ask for. They truly care about the success of their customers.

Cons

Sometimes it can be a bit confusing to navigate but not really that bad. The signing of memebrship could be a little more involved but you can work around it.

Vendor response

We 100% agree! Our customer success team is full of people who really care about gym owners. Thanks for taking the time to leave us a review, Matt, we appreciate it!

One of the most customer centered options for gym software

Reviewed 4 years ago

The cost of PushPress is phenomenal compared to other platforms, and they truly focus on and care about each individual customer in making a product that fits their clients needs.

Pros

I love the team behind PushPress and the ease of use the product they put out! PushPress is dedicated to making a top tier product that is both easy to use and easy to customize with their integrations.

Cons

As they are a growing company, there can be some features that you have to wait on or you may need to do a workaround to accomplish your goal, but it at least can be done and it can be done without the complexity of other softwares.

PushPress - Free version - Great at the basics

Reviewed a year ago

For me, the free version solved the issue of requiring members to register for classes to limit attendance to 10 or fewer clients per session

Pros

Free version is free. It does a good job of handling session reservations and attendance tracking. Customer support is very good

Cons

The paid version is expensive and they take a fee from any billing done through the system. You have to use the paid system to integrate with Zapier

Above and beyond service

Reviewed 4 years ago

Had a hard time getting hardware at one point that would allow me to better take advantage of the system. They offered a month at no cost to give me the opportunity to get the hardware I needed! It was fantastic!

Pros

It is pretty simple to use and they are always working to make it better and easier.

Cons

As I grew it was difficult to understand how much more I could get out of it. But they always scheduled a meeting or two to make sure I could take advantage of everything at no extra cost.

Love the soul and bones of pushpress but needs user refinement

Reviewed 3 years ago

I can't say enough how the amazing the free version is and really has been invaluable for our growth.

Pros

As a new strength and conditioning studio, I needed a low cost gym management software that was familiar with the fitness segment I'm a part of. All of the features I needed were there.

Cons

I love PP, but the ease of use and ability to edit both what my members see and scheduling is tricky and has a severe learning curve. All the features I need are present, but there are many small details in several areas of the app that if they were developed for end user purposes would make this software truly exceptional.

Genuinely unbelievable

Reviewed 3 years ago

Best purchase I have ever made. I know people say this, but honestly it’s so true. Mine is a start-up business and push press made me feel like a professional company and made my members think it too! Genuinely can’t say enough good things about it. I’ve told loads of people and shared the link in lots of fitness groups. I’m happy to put my name to it for sure

Pros

The ease of setting everything up was incredible. I don’t like the idea of writing or copy/pasting code so this was a dream. It does everything I wanted plus loads more for an incredibly good price. The online help is ‘actual’ people who reply actually help! They understand your business too, which is excellent.

Cons

If I have to put something, it’s that it uses American dates which always confuse me!

Vendor response

We love to hear this, Pete! We know how hard it can be starting out and running a business, so we're genuinely happy to help. Thanks for choosing us!

Fantastic Value

Reviewed 3 years ago

The platform is solid as a rock and the free version is very well featured. It's very easy to use and the support is phenomenal.

Pros

It's very easy to use and I was able to migrate from my old platform in a matter of hours.

Cons

The web UI can be a bit klunky at times and there's a bit of a disconnect between the check in portal app and the web console when a member cancels a reservation.

Vendor response

Thanks, Karen! We know how stressful transitions can be, so we're happy that we were able to make yours a little easier. As always, please reach out to the success team if you're having any issues with the check-in app, they'll be happy to help!

Pros

The ease. I can run my CrossFit box from afar. I can view member activity, income coming in and my members have an easy tool to reserve and check in. It also runs my product sales - easily. Service is top notch.

Cons

Not much to Not like. I gave 4 stars because I have only been using the system for a couple months and would not feel right to rank those categories any higher. But Support and Value - I have already experienced a 5 star value.

Easy to use but no robust

Reviewed 4 years ago

We went with push press because they showed us how easy it was to use and build your membership accounts. What they didn't say was that certain feature for billing and other aspects of the system are still in the works and don't ever seem to get moved forward.

Pros

Easy to use. Has some really great features and options for admins on the back end. Pretty user friendly and at a good price.

Cons

There always seems to be something wrong (missing dates on payroll, birthdays not showing up for members, unable to resume paused accounts, etc.) and the integration of optional apps does not work the best.
