User Friendly but not Payroll/ PTO Tracking / Time-Keeping Friendly. Bad Implementation Team.

On-boarding process is much more automated as you can upload all required documents into a template and have new employees complete them using e-signature. Performance Management feature makes it very easy to keep track of everyone¿s progress and manage from the administrative side.

Pros

We are also utilizing their on-boarding, performance management and benefits enrollment features to save the company time as well as to reduce paperwork.

Cons

We ended up purchasing their Namely Time module because the web-clock and PTO Tracking in their HRIS module is very limited; the web-clock is unable to round worked hours as we track employee hours worked in 15 minute increments and PTO Tracking was not accruing the correct amount of sick and vacation balance for the employees which caused us to manually track PTO for 6 months on a spreadsheet.

We also started using the Onboarding feature and it has saved employees and HR so much time.

Pros

I love how customizable Namely is.

Cons

They haven't rolled it out yet but, I'm excited to be able to report on any and every field in Namely in one report and I'm hopeful that we'll be able to do document signing for current employees one day.

Not your typical Payroll software, so no more dreading the use of it!

I do not dread doing payroll, because if I have to fix something in an employee's profile, deductions, taxes, etc... it's only a click away, and then I can get right back to completing payroll.

Pros

The ease of use, customizable reports in format pdf or Excel, and it even looks appealing to work in.

Cons

The numerous email alerts you get for any employee change request (ie: address; title change; Raise, etc...) gets annoying, yet to confirm that I sent off the payroll submission, I don't receive any.

This product is great because i'm able to keep track of all employees time off requests, performance reviews, and you can check your benefits as well!

Cons

The platform runs a little bit slow and when that happens it becomes an inconvenience to be able to view the items needed.

The best part about this platform is the fact that it combines Performance Reviews, PTO Management, Payroll, Benefits, all into one system that works seamlessly with each other.

Pros

I have worked with companies who hand you off to any available account manager not the case with Namely, it's so comforting to always talk to an advocate who you trust.

Cons

Currently the employees have to be set by associating to who they directly report to which is important, but it also would be nice to quickly move employees if they were to change a position or if you wanted to put your Organizational chart in a particular sequence.

Our company uses Namely HRIS and Payroll. So far I am underwhelmed with Namely Payroll.

Performance review, employee management on the HR side, and payroll functions on the payroll side.

Pros

What I like most is that Namely allows users to access their payroll and HR information easily. Users can update their own bank accounts if they have direct deposit.

Cons

What I like least about Namely is there are a lot of limitations. Every time we ask about some features, the answer is usually that it's not available.

Pros

Some of the functions are fantastic - the onboarding, the performance tool, the time off function, and its very easy to customise some of the profile fields to your own requirements.

Cons

There are limitations in terms of some of the functions for non-US employees. For example, we can't track UK or Canadian expenses through Namely.

Pros

Most employees have not needed much in the way of training or tutorials and they like the eases of use and the user interface.

Cons

One minor drawbacks on time off reports is you cannot run a report to see vacation balances as of a certain day in the past (or future) - it is only current.

Hi, we've been using Namely for the past year and it's been fun implementing the system and building out our new processes within the system. There have been a couple of challenges, but I think it's because the company is still growing. I believe they are aware of the issues and are trying their best to fix them. I like that they seem to be transparent, they continuously keep us clients informed about releases and updates. They know that they must get payroll running smoothly (which is where we have the most issues). Payroll still needs work but it's not bad or a deal breaker. I'm confident that they will make payroll better within the next couple of months.

Pros

The team/org. charts, reporting, time off management and performance platform.

Payroll needs more work.

Namely is great all in one HRIS tool that has really benefited our team with it's time off features, performance management tool, benefit wizard and reporting of employee data.

Pros

Not only has their benefit wizard been a great tool for us, their performance management tool has been very beneficial with their annual, 360 and peer review functions.

Cons

Only an on-boarding e-signature function and restricted company calendar functions. Some functions within Namely take a little "learn by doing" but overall has been a great tool!

Pros

The clean and easy-to-use interface helps me in onboarding, payroll, etc. and reduces the need to always work through software with employees (plus, there are training resources for basic tasks).

Cons

The performance management module is very customizable and is included - but still could use a little work to be on par with stand-alone performance management products (but is still an excellent product!).

Namely makes it easy for me to store all sensitive employee information as well as employee bios, PTO requests, calendars all in one database. I also like that i'm able to limit visibility on certain documents ensuring that other employees are not able to view the private information that is stores but can still view each others bios that each employee sets up this includes position, team, who they report to and other interesting position related facts.

Namely may be missing some features or some may need to be updated, but the interfaces and the support plus the fact that they are dedicated to releasing features that are requested really make it a top HRIS system.

Pros

The ability to use the Open API allowed us to automate our employee data flow out to different parts of the company and keep our systems all in sync.

Cons

While the time feature allows a lot of customization, it can be burdensome to use and navigate.

Would choose Namely if evaluating vendors again

We selected them due to the ease of use of the platform for the site administrators as well as our employees and felt they would be able to meet the needs of our growing company.

Pros

It promotes self-service so employees can update their personal information, with an easy click they can request and their manager can approve PTO, they can easy view important company information (employee handbook, their w2, summary plan descriptions, etc).

Cons

They are still working to auto-sync some remaining fields from the HRIS to payroll side of the platform (like EEOC/Job Category and Ethnicity info) for easy EEO-1 reporting.
