very pleasant. hardware has its drawbacks, but overall the back office of lavu is user friendly, support team is competent with a high sense of urgency and the processing fee is perfect for organizations watching their bottom line.
No costs for hardware, ease of use once set up, availability of [sensitive content hidden] and his team during the launch. [sensitive content hidden] has also been very accessible after the set up with follow up questions and concerns.
hardware. cash register is bulky, credit card reader requires an actual port to work. i would prefer an all in one, wifi unit with a display screen for the customer.

Ability to utilize Tab Order as location default during initial deployment in 2014.
Level of customization in front end user configuration. Scheduling and management notes are undeveloped in reports

Overall im pleasantly ok with the service. I did receive some back and forth on communication mishaps on what I was getting for going with Lavu. Other than that Im ok.
The ease of the customer service being able to add any options or changes I need on my POS system in real time. Also the fuctionality is pretty simple and easy to use.
Im noticing the system sometimes disconnects from the wifi, the POS cash terminal opens up when a customer is paying the entire order with a debit/credit card. Also sometime the cash resgister doesnt open on a cash transaction so we have had to use or register key to manually open the register.

It was a brutal set up that started Sept 20th and was not completed until yesterday. Took hours of work daily since day 1 to put out fires and get everything ironed out the way it should have been done initially. [sensitive content hidden] pent countless hours on the phone with me and ultimately saved the day and now we are up and running. She went above and beyond!!! If it wasn't for her we would have lost this deal.
How simple and easy to use it is. How you can use if you are a brand new start up or a thriving business who is scaling.
Onboarding process in regards to 3rd party delivery was incomplete which created total chaos for the business owner. [sensitive content hidden] saved the day!

Overall our experience with Lavu is great, the onboarding team made sure everything was set up correctly and functioning. The ease of use and flow of the system makes using Lavu a wonderful experience.
The best thing about Lavu is the inventory and pricing down to the ingredients.
Lavu still needs more available features and be more open to customizing.

Had issues with the credit card machine, as it doesn't exit sleep mode efficiently
24/7 support, ease of adding and modifying menu items.
Had issues with the credit card machine, as it doesn't exit sleep mode efficiently, and completely bugged out and had to spend nearly an hour on the phone with support. However 24/7 support is a bonus. modifier groups could be better set up so that option modifiers can be grouped, instead of having to be put into forced modifiers.

Wow! What a great experience switching to Lavu. After an eight year relationship with Toast we have upgraded to Lavu. As a very busy restaurant and bar we were nervous to make such a big change, especially in the beginning of "our season." We can't say enough wonderful things about our experience with Lavu and their incredible support staff. We got to spend the week with [sensitive content hidden] ...
Since we have to say something here, we don't like that they outsource the KDS screens and networking. But they make up for it for sure so it's really not an issue.

We had been using a regional POS system for years, and struggling not only with features, but also with reports, analytics, and their customer support. Lavu has stepped in to improve, full the gaps, and take the lead for us in terms of setup and deployment.
We're a small restaurant operating outside the US, and Lavu is a great option for us. Easy to use, with lots of customer support in setting up and deploying the system in multiple langauges!
So far, we have no complaints and are really satisfied with the system and the support.

We have been using it for 6 years and think it is great. When we have new employees, most of them have never heard of Lavu, but after using it they typically remark at how easy it is to update and how easy it is to use
It is very intuitive with a simple and easy to use layout. Pretty much everything is easy to find and easy to customize. It feels light and responsive where other, more expensive options often feel cumbersome. The chat and phone based service have also proven very useful at times
The online ordering platform didn't work very well for us, unfortunately, so we abandoned that. We love the everything else, though

Using Lavu has made it easier to do online ordering and takeout meals. Reports are much better than our last POS.
Easy to use and train staff on. Customer service is always nice and helpful, stays on the phone, and then follows up afterward. Like the control panel and reporting.
Price point - it can be more pricey than expected.

overall Lavu is great. The staff is always looking for ways to improve the system & takes events when they come up and handles them to the best of their ability
Integration from our old Pos was simple. Being able to add pictures of products or change color of box to help locate the items faster Ability to change prices, product name, add new product with ease. Ability to check/change anything from anywhere is a plus
When the internet is out, tickets don't print to the kitchen or credit cards aren't able to be run. When happy hour times are up, you can still increase product quantity. Having a large food menu, along with a large bar selection has us set up with several tabs & it makes it hard to be fast entering in orders.

I purchased a complete system from LAVU on April 2019 with the intent to upgrade my existing POS from CAKE which served me well the first 4 years of running my restaurant, but being somewhat of a basic system I started feeling like it was holding me back. There are no Pros, this is an awful system and the worst customer service / sales team in the industry
Be very careful when they offer you interest free financing for the hardware, that's how they trick you into paying the software fee for 3 years in advance with NO way out

Overall, for the two years the system was satisfacotry. Until recenlty it was for the current management at the restaurant. The dealer is helpful - he is our first line of tech support before we go to KLAvu for support.
I liked using Lavu because it was the first POS for the restaurant where I worked. While I was employed there I used the system for 2 years. The set up was easy as the dealer came to the restaurant and set it up and did a one day training for the staff.
They system seems to have alot of glitches. Recently, the restaurant reported to me that they had a glitch and lost printers. Tech support finally helped and got the printers up but somehow lost half the menu. Also, I have witnessed personally that the sales tax is charging out properly.

Feeling frustrated and unheard
I like the iPads to send tickets to the cook and track sales
After two years of using the POS system, they still have not corrected the payroll setting s for OT as per Alaska Law. It has been reported over and over again for 2 years, yet we continue to receive automated msgs that they are working to resolve the issue. If you own a business in Alaska, I can guarantee that you are paying too much in OT . If you are an Alaskan owner relying on a manager to trust your payroll settings you had better check this yourself.

I like the simple interface, it is easy to use and simple to implement
99% of the time the software works well however we have had consistent problems with the system going offline in the middle of very busy nights. Everything else! Whenever we have a issue they send it to the "developmental team" also known as the black hole. When we signed up they said "offline processing was in the works" that was 2 years ago. Reports are literally ALWAYS wrong. If you look at sales on two different reports they never are the same. For a span of about three months they miscalculated sales tax, having us over pay hundreds...

about the sistem we are of course happy after one year of lavu at our restaurant, our job is helping from lavu, accouting administration kitchen and all is going in perfect harmonies
fraud by billing request or shut down lavu. Yes that happen two times , last time few days ago I get a message on a strange open windows of lavu account, was about to pay or shutdown the system but we always pay, so I was worry what happen if shotdown lavu at my place then they ask the min payment, so I used my credit card for pay it but at end they took more for Hosting PAID without any consense from me. we used to pay an agent of lavu so he doesn't answer fast half and that can happen. Now he said like last time they will refund to me but of course after some month... so disappointed about it. Hope to try back faster my money because the agent he asks me to pay him to because isn't his fault. hope someone tries to explain and solve my problem.

Nothing to come close to outweighing the cons
About the only thing that is positive about this system is that it is internet based and we can move freely about the restaurant to serve our guests.
Billing is constantly inaccurate and the system shuts down during service because of this. If you're ok with the system going offline with no warning due to inaccurate automated billing issues and 3 hours on the phone with inept customer service reps while having zero access to input orders, print tickets to your kitchen, bills for the customers and not being able to process credit cards than this...
