I inherited our account three years ago and couldn't be happier. I've been able to add new records quickly, create specific pages, directories,and spaces for our alumni, and work with the Almabase team to refine the product.
We love that Almabase offers an easy to use contact directory and allows for event registrations. The customize pages also allow us to create content specific to our school.
I think networking is an essential function of the database, and there are a few bugs with Almabase. The industry/field section needs to be standardized/a drop-down so alumni can search quickly, like LinkedIn. Same is true for colleges and universities--the most annoying thing is when a user has misspelled "University" so there are several lists in the search feature.

Could not be happier. TO the overall look and ease of the site to the care that the staff offers... there is no better fit for us.
Almabase is extremely user friendly and easy to manage from a backend perspective. A lot of the site is customizable and the customer support team is always there to work with you through any issues you have. It is also extremely easy to integrate to our database at the school, which was super valuable.
There's honestly and truly nothin that I dislike. The team at Almabase is always on working on new ways to improve their site, and will even take suggestions when you'd like to see something happen.

Crowdfunding opportunities, email marketing and registration pages.
Onboarding process requires you to watch several webinars that were a bit difficult to follow. There are alot of capabilities and functions that help Almabase integrate with Raisers Edge NXT, however, there is room for improvements and adding better integrations.

Very positive. Almabase is very user-friendly. The onboarding process and training with Pranay and other team members was always a positive experience.
I love the alumni directory. It's very easy to search for an alum by class year, keyword, or by the mapping feature. I also am impressed by how easy the Events portion of the site it to use, register guests, communicate with guests, and run reports. Also, the members of the Almabase team are always very helpful and quick to respond to any and all of our questions.
It's hard to think of a con for Almabase.

This software help us consolidate our database, emailing and website saving us a lot of money. Tracking emails and engagement has been very helpful.
-It is a website, database platform, and bulk email service. -Payments can be taken through the website, including membership payments. -The developers are constantly making improvements to the software and any improvements are made available at no extra cost. -The customer service is very responsive.
-Administrator/backend usability could be improved. This is something we have mentioned to them and they are working on. -Website pages could do with a little more layout varieties and features. I believe they are working on this also.

I love that this software is able to integrate with LinkedIn and Facebook to automatically capture alumni updates. Also that mailing lists are dynamic and change accordingly when an update is made to the profiles. It automates so many things and that takes the hassle out of the administration of the alumni office so that we can focus on actually engaging with alumni. The event management module is especially helpful in managing RSVPs. The support team has also been very gracious and patient with a non-technical person such as myself and taken the trouble to explain each function thoroughly. They are always ready to help.
For a more technically proficient user, it may be good if more of the customization such as changing fields and even uploading new batches of alumni data could be left to the institution themselves to handle. But for those who may not be technical, the fact that the support team handles this can be a great relief, as it is to me.

The Almabase platform is a far more robust and interactive giving landing page than we could have ever created in-house. We have hosted two giving days on the platform so far and both surpassed our fundraising goals.
The Almabase team provides excellent Customer Support. The platform is pretty user friendly, and the team is there every step of the way to answer questions and solve problems. It also integrates with Blackbaud Raiser's edge, which makes uploading our transactions into the system very easy.
My marketing specialist wishes the visuals were more customizable. For instance, there is a black screen over the banner image at the top of the page that cannot be removed, and we would like to rearrange some elements in the templates. These issues are not a deal-breaker.

Overall, I would recommend Almabase. Our organization took about 12-18 months to cutover from our legacy alumni website to NetCommunity in 2020-2021. We didn't anticipate cutover again this soon, but we were able to pull it off within five months of making the commitment. A lot of that is testimony to the support the implementation team and helpdesk at Almabase provide.
We were looking for a solution that could deliver a modern and responsive website for a team that would need a less technical, day-to-day interface for management, data-synchronization, and low-code/no code page design and development. Our organization liked that Almabase integrated with Raiser's Edge NXT and that it could deliver on a number of key initiatives. During our website development and cutover process, we tested the platform's capabilities with Crowd Fundraising and a very complex Event. While there were some synchronization challenges, the Almabase support team was very responsive and helpful in making the process very successful.
The donation/gift synchronization is well-developed, but the event module and community module will require some additional work to better develop an engagement score methodology. These weren't the highest priorities at the time of cutting over, but they will require significant time/resource investment on the part of our team to utilize to the greatest advantage.

We have been able to drastically reduce our overall printing and marketing costs related to alumni activities and events and rely now most heavily on communications and registrations through Almabase. This has helped us offset the annualized cost of the contract. By streamlining processes our team has been more efficient and been able to focus more on driving and encouraging attendance at events, overall engagement of our active alumni and more frequent communications from our campus.
We needed to provide a platform that would enable us to leverage our alumni network globally, and one that we felt would be the best fit for our users. Almabase seemed to be the best fit for our needs and we have been very successful with all models but most specifically with the Events Platform. It has provided real time tracking, registration and communications for our alumni engagement events.
As with all new databases and platforms, synchronization between our existing database and Almabase has presented a few challenges. Uploading our initial data took a few tweaks. Nothing that cannot be solved, just learning the best method and techniques to be the most efficient in this process is important.

We have had a wonderful relationship with Almabase and have our own personal account support manager that I touch base with twice per month to ensure high engagement and using the latest features.
Almabase provides a robust platform for engagement and interaction with our graduates. We currently have over 14,000 alums using Classmates.com and are starting to migrate to our platform. The ability to create "Pali Helping Pali" by promoting mentorship, job board, internships opportunities, and a business directory helps connect our alums with each other and with their alma mater.
I would prefer a better dashboard when people land on our site. Everything is aligned vertically which makes scrolling down necessary to be able to see all the information. I would like to see each section bigger and aligned vertically so that optically it is more engaging.

Overall, we have had a very good experience with Almabase. We found Almabase provided the features we were looking for at a much more reasonable price compared to other platforms. The social influencer piece has been really helpful in advertising and growing our donor base. The use of social media helps us cast a wider net and we have had year-over-year growth. We also like the integration with Blackbaud as the donor information flows into the donor record once we sync our systems. This was a really helpful attribute and produced a much cleaner tracking system for our database manager.
We really like the Almabase platform and have used it for three consecutive years. Our office is limited in size as we are a relatively small fundraising unit but the Almabase platform has given us a robust system for online fundraising within our community. We use the software primarily for an online giving day. This year, we generated nearly $700,000 with 650 gifts. The platform helped us show real-time...
Although we are very happy with the Almabase software we wish there was a way to securely use Venmo during a campaign. This is likely a function of using BBMS as our payment processor and integrating the two systems. We also tried using Paypal but the functionality with BBMS was not there. Hopefully, that will be corrected in the future. We also had a few gifts that were missed even though the constituents were mapped ahead of time. This is an issue we are working through with Almabase. Finally, it is worth noting that at times, we were limited on the template and form customization options.

The alumni community platform provided by Almabase is helping us connect with alumni who have fallen off our radar. The system facilitates the communication of alumni with one another and encourages alumni to invite their classmates to join the system. Our alumni are able to update their information on the community profile page and then Almabase integrates with our CRM (Raiser's Edge NXT) to update our local alumni records. It has been a wonderful partnership so far and I look forward to seeing where the next several years leads us as we continue to develop this partnership.
Almabase is a very intuitive platform for alumni community management. The system is easy to use no matter whether you are an end-user or a platform administrator. Creating content pages, events, campaigns, and job postings is a snap as the system leads you through providing the details you need to complete each task. As a former webmaster, I appreciate the ability to go into the code view for content pages so that I can manipulate pages to display according to my personal preferences.
There is very little to dislike. Being pickey, I can say that the back-end of the platform does not always work the way I would want it to work. However, that is based on my own personal preferences for how I use the system and is not based on how the system was designed to function. From the first demo throughout our selection process and onboarding, I found Almabase customer service to be a great asset every step of the way. I love the feature requests that are actually voted on by their users and implemented!
Our Alumni group is from a smaller high school. So it's been a lot of learning on Almabase's part as well...getting to know our culture better and finding ways to help uniquely serve us. It's not really negative...it's just taken some time.

Almabase has been a necessary addition to our alumni association as we seek increased engagement, especially during the COVID-19 era. The ability to bring alumni together on a platform has been ideal and allows for an "exclusive" benefit for our membership. The team, specifically [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN] have been a great help customizing the site to our needs. Our team is small and volunteer, and as someone who is tech-challenged, I was still able to "create" the site with their continued help. The giving pages, recurring donation option, event management and map are some of my favorite features that add tremendous value. Overall we look forward to using this platform as our one-stop-shop for alum and supporters of our Academy.
-The salesforece integration is not an integration at all. It only communicates basic details, like name and contact info. This was not communicated clearly during our initial conversation regarding our needs. However, the team is in the process of expanding that integration. Our institution successfully leveraged the Almabase platform to execute our seventh annual spring giving event, and our experience was overwhelmingly positive. Overall, we would highly recommend Almabase, especially for Raisers Edge customers who have struggled in the past with settling giving day data.
-The interface was very easy to use to build our giving event site -Our donors enjoyed the giving experience, including the functionality to share the campaign, the tribute wall, the page layout, and the ease of giving -Reconciling the gifts in Raiser’s Edge was as easy as it’s ever been for us - the process of matching the gifts to the appropriate records made this a very smooth process for our gift processing team. -The clear and supportive customer experience was unmatched. We had regular meetings to discuss our project; and questions were resolved quickly. -We were impressed with the go-live support - the Almabase team was very responsive when issues arose during our three-day event.

For a small shop like ours, a product that could do it all for online alumni engagement and giving and at an affordable price was critical and Almabase provided that. The customer service team has been helpful and the organization seems well run and communicative between the sales team, client success managers, and engineers/product team.
Out team appreciates the diversity of the features of Almabase - it includes alumni communities, alumni database, a mentoring platform, giving platform, event management, and much more. Many other products just did one or two of these well, but almabase has it all.
Since we are trying to get the product to work for us in multiple ways and Almabase seems to be adding features frequently, there have been some growing pains with the product such as outages or bugs, but these have been minimal and the benefits outweigh the costs.

The platform is easy to use and customizable for our needs. We use the platform extensively for creating events, fundraising pages, creating alumni directory and posting news and updates for alumni. Almabase team provides great service and is always available to answer our queries and helps us navigate through the best options for solving our requirements.
We have most of the features we look for in an alumni engagement platform. A mobile app would have been a nice addition so members have easy access on their phones.

Overall, I enjoy this platform. It allows us the opportunity to engage alumni inside of the area and in states and regions outside of the DC Metro area. [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN] is a guru when it comes to customer service and he makes everyone's day a bit easier when he's involved.
I really enjoy the communities feature on the platform and the fact that it is customizable to the needs of the client. We opt for a lot of mentorship and this platform makes that easy.
There isn't much to dislike about the feature. Sometimes I can forget how to do things, but that's more of a personal issue

Great product overall, that helps us to connect with and engage with our alumni. Also, very responsive customer service provided by [SENSITIVE CONTENT] and the rest of their team.
The map search feature is a big hit with our alumni. We also enjoy the event management module and the ability to have multiple communication touchpoints with attendees before, during and after the event. In terms of building emails, the drag and drop feature makes it easy for anyone who doesn't have design or HTML experience.
When building directories, it would be great to be able to re-arrange/reorder/sort entries after the fact, as opposed to having to enter info in specific orders, i.e. alphabetical, etc.

The platform has been helpful in connecting with alumni, and the customer service team is helpful and responsive.
Features like a directory with a search by map feature, event registration and giving forms with clean design. We can add pages and create content easily. With Facebook/LinkedIn signups, integration with Raiser's Edge, and alumni able to update contact information on their profile, collecting contact data is more efficient. The team at Almabase is responsive with our questions, and helpful in making sure we are making the most of the product.
We would like the pages on Almabase to be more customizable and a news feed would be a great addition.

Like I said above, we are saving a lot of time filtering out groups and specific people for mailings and emails. The communication has improved greatly and we are excited to bring more alumni to the platform so that they can start benefiting from Almabase.
The ability to communicate and filter specific groups or people is literally as easy as a few clicks of a button. The amount of time we are saving by using Almabase to reach out to our alumni is immeasurable. We are still new to Almabase and are learning new things all of the time. As we learn more, we are more impressed and excited about our decision to use Almabase.
This software does not "talk to" Senior Systems, so it does make it difficult when information is updated on one platform. However, Almabase made a point to visit our school to see how we use Senior Systems and is going to try to find a way to communicate with it. They may not succeed, but they care enough to try.
