Priceless Tool for Streamlining and Growth

Extremely positive. The tool flat out works. It's something that you get out what you put in. My recommendation for anyone looking into it is to have a strong plan and a devoted 'Trainual Champion' devoted to the buildout and implantation of the platform.

Pros

Trainual is far and away the best value for any platform we have used. It's hard to determine what's more impactful, the cost savings or the added revenue generated from staying organized and properly training our people. I strongly recommend this tool to anyone wanting to scale their business in a healthy and sustainable way.

Cons

The cons I experience are items the Trainual team is working on developing. Not many negatives to this technology.

Great system

Trainual solves almost all of our onboarding dilemmas, and the library of templates gets you going quickly.

Pros

The system looks utterly professional and modern with a clean, uncluttered UI, its the main reason we are selecting this product. Once customised with our branding it looked and felt like our own platform. The website is responsive and its great that its available as a downloadable app and mobi site. The price is reasonable and flexible according to user numbers, and has a monthly payment option as opposed to a lot of other LMS systems requiring annual upfront payment.

Cons

Its disappointing that the LMS is not SCORM compliant or supportive of adding external course material. The content tools require expanding, colour fonts and custom backgrounds etc. If you are going to limit the instructor to compiling courses to using your own content tools only it has to sufficiently expansive to make your courses appealing. Gifs are not totally appropriate for a lot of courses while obviously a nice differentiator. Creativity is therefore limiting. I would like to also see that you are able to upload videos directly from your device, as opposed to being forced to using YouTube videos which looks less than professional.

Training Make-over

Overall it is great. Our business is set up with multiple locations across 4 states and it is has allowed the training to happen without the cost of long business trips. I would honestly say that Trainual helps me accomplish 80-90% of my goals with training and that really cuts down on the time and expenses spent traveling and training.

Pros

I love that I can add screenshots into the quizzes - it allows me to ensure that employees I have never met (due to hiring in a region I don't live in) understand what they are looking at. I love that in general I can have the benefit of a "hands-on" approach and thoroughly teach concepts and in actuality use up very little time to do so. Overall, Trainual is very helpful.

Cons

If I could change one thing - it would be Trainual creating the ability for us to upload videos directly to the website as opposed to having to go through youtube or Vimeo. Either the quality of the video is reduced by the time it gets to Trainual to the point where it's blurry and not really useful, or we have to pay a separate vendor to upload the videos, or we have to upload slowly over time. If that aspect were changed, I would give this software an 11/10.

The answer to what I was looking for

Overall it has been great. It is easy to use and figure out and it is helping me go deep in systemizing my business.

Pros

We have high turnover and being able to make initial training part of the hiring process have helped us weed out applicants who are not serious. It also provides a great way to get people to complete training before being eligible for raises and promotions. I like how I can track the progress of my team, and quiz them to ensure comprehension, as well as the different media I can implement to help drive home certain points.

Cons

The pricing model that does not include all of the features unless you pay the premium right off the bat. It takes a long time to get all of the systems into Trainual, and I am not able to release it right away to my team so I didnt want to pay the premium if they were not going to be able to access the features right away. I will probably upgrade to the premium later on and revamp my lessons, but I am a bit conflicted about having my team go through re-training at that point just to see some flashy new features that I would have liked to implement at the beginning.

Game Changing Training

Trainual has been the most valuable addition we've made to our franchise network in the past year. I recommend it often.

Pros

The Trainual platform is easy to use and has allowed us to scale our growth that would have been impossible with traditional training systems.

Cons

We need better testing and certification options. The testing isn't robust enough. Users need certifications to show they've achieved a certain level. This is important for motivation. It seems like an easy add that would add a lot of value. We're currently looking for testing and certification solutions from 3rd parties, but Trainual should be able to provide them quite easily.

Difficult to Use

My time with trainual was a waste of money and time and never quite got usage from it. Almost $1k later, I ended up cancelling the subscription and have ZERO to show for it.

Pros

In theory, it makes the process of onboarding and training easy and efficient.

Cons

The set up process, even with already having the documentation is burdensome and the flow of how to use the software is confusing. There is no real start and finish or defined, or even suggested, workflow. There are tons of integrations, but no suggestions really as to how to best use them or under what circumstances these things would be useful. It is also incredibly expensive to say that it is ongoing expense that will forever need to be paid for the life of your business. Theres no tapering off or build up. It has to be implemented immediately in order to show it's value and does not account for the set up process.

A great resource

Pros

Trainual offers all of the major features that we desired in a knowledge base/LMS resource. Beyond that, their team continues to actively engage with users to gather feedback and make their product better aligned with our needs. Our team uses this on a daily basis and I expect it to become more and more central to the way we operate our business.

Cons

Any time you invest hundreds of hours developing content within a framework that you do not control, that is always a little concerning. Response time to needs/bugs and the possibility of future pricing changes could become challenges. At the moment, support has met expectations and we are happy with the product and service.

Trainual is a great platform for the value. The reason the system did not work for us for our training content was due to the lack of reporting capabilities.

Pros

It was very easy to create/implement content for the site. The ability to use the system mobile is great as well.

Cons

The reporting leaves a bit to be desired (not very robust functionality). There is also no back-up system for content that may be accidentally deleted (it is lost for good). The levels of access could also be improved; it would be helpful for some to view answers in the system without having to go to each individual user to look up this information.

A Game Changer for Company

Our company has been using Trainual for about two months now. I see such value in the content that can be created in Trainual that I literally get up at 5am every day to write training content. And, I’m actually looking forward to hiring our next new staff person to put them through our new training program. All of this content will also not just be a training program that sits on a shelf forgotten somewhere, it will become our living company “Wiki” providing quick access to company knowledge.

Pros

The software is so intuitive and easy to use you just get in and go. It’s so much fun documenting our processes now and spicing the content up with interesting fonts, images, and videos.

Cons

It would be nice if videos could be uploaded directly to Trainual rather than linking them in from somewhere else like YouTube.

Great for small and medium business documentation

Trainual has been a great platform for us to document our business practices. We've also used it as a learning automation software for all of our training purposes. Great product.

Pros

Trainual is very easy to use and has very good functionality. Their support team is very responsive to questions and issues. New features are consistently rolled out and the product is getting better by the month. It's a great value.

Cons

A few small bugs here and there, but nothing that is too irritating. Any bug I run into usually gets resolved within a day or two.

Best platform out there for businesses

Started with trainual to have company procedures available to staff and now have moved on to have new hire paperwork done. Has cut down on paper cost and much more efficient way to do tuinfs

So easy to use. I love that you can literally put everything that's needs to be learned and all company information. One stop shop

I can honestly say that there is nothing I don't like about this platform. It's the greatest.

Trainual is a life-saver!

The business problems we are solving involve capturing internal processes and getting consulting knowledge out of people's heads.

Pros

I like how easy it is to use. We used a much more expensive solution previously and training on the tool was a real problem. It was hard to set up. Trainual is so easy that anyone can use it quickly (even the CEO). When I found the tool, I had one day to prepare my first module to train new consultants. I was ready with the first three hours of training by the next day and completed 15 hours of training a few days after that. It was a life-saver! I like how we can easily capture files, video, audio, processes. It is easy to organize the training as well. Our business is complex and I was desperate to get all the internal knowledge into one centralized database.

Cons

It's a little hard to organize - we have a lot of modules - to support multiple job positions and to find what you need if it is not part of your original training. I want everyone in the company to be able to see what training is available to them.

Great customer support, great value, life saver for our business.

Pros

Everything that we've worked hard to put together over the years is in one spot. Also any time we want to add something new, there's no fear that it won't get transferred to our team. It's a great feeling not having to stress about making the same mistakes over and over again.

Cons

I wish that it was easier to review everyone's scores. It takes a lot of steps to do this, seems like there could be an easier way.

Why you should use Trainual

Trainual is easy to use and serves a great purpose. It helps you clearly document processes that are then able to be used to train the team. It can become a great tool to ensure that your team is completing processes your way and not their own. It has helped eliminate tribal knowledge.

Pros

This is a very user friendly software. Most people are able to pick it up and start using it immedately. This is important because at my business a lot of the knowledge keepers are not very tech savvy. They can still use it. The customer service is incredibly efficient. [SENSITIVE CONTENT] in particular. She answers my questions in the same day, and if she doesn't know the answer she gets someone who will be able to help.

Cons

In order to have videos on your pages you have to link them through another service. We use YouTube. But I understand why, it helps keep their storage costs low. I would like there to be a section where a trainer is able to mark off that the employee is able to complete a process in real life.

Trainual Helped My Business Scale

Trainual is the key to documenting processes and training and we wouldn’t have been able to grow as quickly without it. I am very grateful I found it.

Pros

Trainual is user friendly has allowed me to onboard staff in two clicks of the mouse. It is the one of the biggest keys to my business.

The user limitations are a bit low in my opinion

Trainual - at the Top!

Trainual is assisting us do two things: 1. Write the system 2. Train team members how to perform the system I truly have enjoyed my experience with Trainual!

Pros

- Simple Outlines using Subjects & Topics - Easy to move docs into Trainual from Word, Etc. - Has a clean/modern look - Employees undergoing training feel like they are doing something "half enjoyable" unlike other old-fashioned, sub-par programs

Cons

Not much. Mostly little procedural things: - When in "admin mode" the program assumes you want to edit. Sometimes I am just trying to view the content as it will appear to my trainees. Cons are very low on Trainual!

Liking Trainual so far

Been great so far.

Pros

Simple and straightforward way to get into making manuals for your company. I didn't even know something like this existed so for me just getting going, understanding it right off the bat was a big deal.

Cons

Nothing at this point other than I find it expensive.

Best of its kind for price and value!

Overall, our experience with Trainual has been smooth, easy, and of no stress! They made it easy to setup and easy to implement!

Pros

I love that Trainual can be used for more than just training. We can implement company processes and procedures, trainings, and onboarding and much more. Best feature by far is being able to control permissions for each user and assign them specific subjects.

Cons

It would be helpful if I can assign specific topics under subjects to specific users. You can only assign an entire topic, but not one specific topic.

Don't sign up for the free trial

Really disappointed. We had high hopes.

Pros

We didn't have enough time in one week to take advantage of the software. We did find the software very expensive for what it was, and the page loads were very slow, but we also wanted more time to review before committing to what we saw as high monthly fees.

Cons

When I went to cancel the free trial, it was very difficult. I was forced to go through a customer service rep - by the time I managed to cancel, our free trial had ended and our credit card had been charged. I felt deceived. If this experience was better, I would have been more likely to consider them again in the future - we are now looking elsewhere. The customer experience after-the-fact was not a good one.

For Constant Training - Too Expensive for Our Training Needs

Trainual was great but we just needed it to train our brokers, once they had completed the training course we had designed, they were done, and we had no more need for the program.

Pros

The software was easy to use and they offered great tutorials to show the admin some cool tricks/tips on how to make training more engaging and enjoyable for the trainee.

Cons

The only problem I ran into was when some of our users had trouble creating accounts to complete the training. (Likely user error).

Great Software

I got the free trial and decided to move forward with it because it was easy to use. We only ended our subscription because I hired a new office manager and she had experience with doing all of this type of stuff in-house, so we no longer needed the software. We will be back if the need arises!

Pros

Amazing customer service! Easy to use Great value

Cons

The only con was that there wasn't much info related to my direct industry, pet care.
