Pros
It provide very good insight about the user interaction and its behavior. Also AI delivery is my favorite as it improve the click rates of our notification.
Push notifications that work really great on web and mobile devices, clean interface with a bunch of features that easy the way we develop and they have a great support.
Even if you're not, there are probably videos you can find that'll guide you through doing whatever you might want to achieve with it. Thank this to the awesome community build around it.
Cons
The slightest change (http to https) meant that I lost all my subscribers that I had worked hard to build over a few years. It was the biggest letdown before they added the paid service.
Dashboard can be a bit a bit confusing at the beginning.
Doesnt have advanced features. Unless you are a beginner, using One signal might be boring for you.

OneSignal Review: The best way to get into push notifications!

Reviewed 4 months ago

Transcript

Tomas P.: Hey, I'm Tomas. I'm a software developer, and I work for a software developing company that has 20 people. I rate OneSignal four out of five. Before using OneSignal, I was using Firebase push notification system, but it didn't work that well because we couldn't actually track any of the journeys or anything that we were trying to fix in terms of the opening of the push notifications because we didn't have a dedicated panel for us to actually see how those messages were performing. So that's why we find out in OneSignal solution we needed to actually implement for push notification [inaudible 00:00:40]. We started using OneSignal first because it's free at the beginning, and you can right away start using it. And because of the very well documented SDK implementation they have for every single platform that we actually used. So we use hybrid mobile applications, and they actually had an SDK for every single one of the implementations we had. And as well, they actually included email and web push notifications as well. So it was supernatural for us to actually use it in our project right away, right out of the box. And it didn't cost us anything until we actually needed to have a expanded amount of push notifications being sent and reports of the performance we were getting from the push notifications. So right at the bat it was free, so there was no harm for actually trying it out, and that's why we started using it. When we started using OneSignal, it was actually pretty easy to start it with because I actually created a proof of concept so I could show it to my teammates and people in the project management branch because we were trying to use a new implementation and a new technology for the push notifications so we were getting different options. So OneSignal was really easy to actually get to work first for web, because we were using a web platform, and then seeing what it will take to actually make it work in a mobile application. It was like a no-brainer for us to actually start using it. If anyone is thinking about using OneSignal, I'll probably just point out the fact that they don't have WhatsApp integration. So for example, if you're aiming for a Latin American kind of market where people usually use WhatsApp as the way of the communication or the communication channel, you're probably going to want to have another option like Twilio or anything like that. But anything else you can actually use OneSignal for, you can actually use it for email journeys or campaigns to actually see open rates and everything in a single dashboard. So using OneSignal give you the opportunity to use, no matter what language you're using, no matter what platform you're actually developing for, there is going to be an option for you to actually be able to use it in a very easy way. They have a really good documentation, so if you are thinking on using OneSignal, that's going to be like a breeze for you to actually get started with it.

The best software for marketing.

Reviewed a year ago

It is a much needed software as we are able to maintain a great connection with our clients, we have increased our client database, our clients are now attracted to our services, the interaction is very good and it has very good email automation and receptive on the part of our clientele.

Pros

It is a simple software to configure, sending notifications is very fast, it makes it easy to always offer the best to our customers, we attract our customers thanks to the multiple functions that OneSignal offers, it is a very fast system, it has powerful customer segmentation, It is essential for us and for attracting new customers.

Cons

On one occasion notifications were delayed, we don't know why, but it has been a great concern for which we have not received a response. They must provide an answer to concerns that we are generally unaware of.

Longtime heavy user, company just switched to another vendor

Reviewed a year ago

They were quick, helpful. Good platform but I didn't know what others were capable of, too. The deployment was reliable to different segments. And the carry-over due to new vendor's back-end was a flop. OneSignal was more stable. But the AI auto-fill, A/N test ease and Web alert CTA "button" are nice. Also I had a real vendor onboarding with new vendor. But that might be on my company, not OS fault, at time of onboarding.

Pros

Ability to send to segments and know it will deploy. Setting / using segments is wonky with new vendor.

Cons

Our new vendor lets you enter the link and it will pull in image address, headline and blurb that you can just tweak. Much faster. Also A/B testing is easier too. Does not need some turn-on from OneSignal. Also, I could never maneuver our audience segments to adjust, combine, audit. Maybe that's across all vendors.

There are no complaints regarding the software's functionality and reliability. However, the price could be a bit more affordable.

My honest Review about OneSignal

Reviewed 2 years ago

My experience with OneSignal has been nothing short of exceptional. As a business owner, I was looking for a comprehensive solution to manage notifications and communicate effectively with my users, and OneSignal has delivered beyond my expectations.OneSignal offers a wide range of notification types, including web push notifications, mobile push notifications, and email notifications, making it easy for me to reach my users across different devices and platforms. The platform is user-friendly and provides a seamless interface to set up and customize notifications to match my brand's style and preferences. The advanced targeting options in OneSignal have been a game-changer for me. I can easily segment my audience based on various criteria such as location, language, interests, and more, allowing me to send highly relevant and personalized notifications. This has resulted in improved engagement and retention rates, and ultimately, better communication with my users.Automation is another standout feature of OneSignal. I can set up automated notifications triggered by user actions, time-based events, or RSS feeds, saving me time and effort in manual notification management. This has allowed me to streamline my communication workflow and ensure timely notifications to my users.OneSignal also provides basic analytics and reporting tools that give me insights into the performance of my notifications. I can track open rates, click-through rates, and conversion rates, which h

Pros

OneSignal is a remarkable notification platform that has truly impressed me with its outstanding features and capabilities. As a business owner, I've been using OneSignal for quite some time, and I must say, it has become an invaluable tool for my marketing efforts. What I liked most about OneSignal is its versatility and ease of use. The platform offers a wide range of notification types, including web push notifications, mobile push notifications, and email notifications, allowing me to reach my users across different devices and platforms. The intuitive interface makes it a breeze to set up and customize notifications according to my brand's style and preferences.OneSignal also provides advanced targeting options, allowing me to segment my audience based on various criteria such as location, language, interests, and more. This helps me deliver highly relevant and personalized notifications to my users, resulting in better engagement and retention rates.Another standout feature of OneSignal is its automation capabilities. The platform supports automated notifications triggered by events such as user actions, time-based triggers, and RSS feeds. This has saved me a lot of time and effort in manual notification management, allowing me to focus on other important aspects of my business.Furthermore, OneSignal offers comprehensive analytics and reporting tools that provide valuable insights into the performance of my notifications. Cons

OneSignal is a feature-rich and powerful notification platform that has helped me streamline my marketing efforts. However, there are a few areas where I found room for improvement. One thing I liked least about OneSignal is the pricing structure. While the platform offers a free plan with basic features, some of the more advanced features, such as custom branding and advanced targeting options, are only available in the paid plans. As a small business owner, I found the pricing to be slightly on the higher side, especially when compared to other similar platforms in the market.Another drawback I encountered is the lack of a built-in A/B testing feature. A/B testing is an essential part of optimizing notification campaigns, and I found it inconvenient to manually set up separate notifications for testing purposes. It would have been more convenient if OneSignal had a dedicated A/B testing feature to help me easily test and optimize my notifications.Additionally, while the interface is generally user-friendly, I found some parts of the platform to be a bit complex, especially when setting up advanced targeting options. It required a bit of trial and error to fully understand and utilize these features effectively. Some additional documentation or tutorials on these advanced features would be helpful for users who are new to notification marketing.Lastly, I noticed that the reporting and analytics features could be more detailed. While OneSignal provides basic analytics,

Great to get started but expensive if you want to use all features

Reviewed 4 years ago

Push integration for small-medium projects are easily done and quickly integrated. Helps getting started and reduces development time.

Pros

It's really easy to set up push notifications for small projects with limited requirements. Implementation of the SDK is also well documented and done within 1-2 hours.

Cons

Recently they reduced features and push you to move to the paid plan (e.g. limited amount of segments, GDPR compliance only for paid users). This had a huge impact and pricing for apps with lots of active users get's expensive quickly.
