Why I left the ITGlue family

Reviewed a year ago

In the long run, I believe ITGlue was not a good partner for us

Pros

In the beginning, it really forced upon us a culture of creating useful documentation.

Cons

ITGlue did help my business with documentation and business practices in the beginning. But, as my company matured, I questioned its value of not being fully enlisted in the Kaseya ecosystem, where most development went toward. Kaseya's business practices became apparent - lots of talk/promises with minimal action. It might be different if I entirely bought into the Kaseya ecosystem, but that was not...

ITglue - a core part of our business

Reviewed a year ago

My overall experience with IT Glue has been highly positive. As a user, I found the platform to be highly effective in managing and organizing documentation for my organization. The platform offers a comprehensive range of features and tools that enable users to easily create, store, and access critical information.

Pros

The platform is highly customizable and user-friendly, with a sleek and modern interface that makes navigation and data input simple and intuitive.Another standout feature of IT Glue is its integration capabilities. The platform seamlessly integrates with a wide range of tools and services, making it easy to connect with other applications that are used regularly.

Cons

One of the main concerns I had with IT Glue was its pricing structure. Although the platform offers a comprehensive range of features and tools, it can be quite expensive for smaller organizations, which may not be able to justify the cost.Another challenge I faced was with the search functionality of IT Glue. While the platform does offer a search bar, it was not always accurate, and it could be difficult to locate specific pieces of information or documentation quickly.

Great Password Manager

Reviewed a year ago

Overall, I am very happy with IT Glue and would recommend it to almost anyone.

Pros

I really like how easy and intuitive it is to use. The version history has saved me quite a few times with accidental clicking. The ability to offer it to our clients with a replacement to Last Pass is a huge value added to our services.

Cons

The searching in the documents section doesn't search inside of folders which is annoying. Also, the check all and then change permissions is hidden and someone lacking in options. Support is also just so-so. Most of the time they can't reproduce my issue and then kind of drop it.

MSP Use Case for IT Glue

Reviewed 9 months ago

Ease of use and access coupled with a great price point when bundling this with BMS and VSA makes this an easy win for all MSP's ranging in size from small to large.

Pros

It allows us to have an easy to access central location for all of our documentation, across all of our clients and prospective clients. Staff understand how to pull value from this tool with minimal training.

Cons

There are features within IT Glue that are well thought out, but perhaps not applicable specifically to our workflows. It can be a challenge to understand how to use these features in the best way as there's not really a "This is best practice" approach for these items.

Overall disappointed

Reviewed 3 years ago

It is regrettable that there is so little competition in this area. Because of this the product is expensive and the service poor. If there were more options we likely would have gone with a different solution. Hopefully there will be other players in the game by the time our agreement is up. Overall, we are disappointed in the value of this product.

Pros

The main feature of the product is document storage and it does this well. For storing configurations about your client's technology, expiries and passwords, I do give it high marks. The permissions are very granular so you are able to allow many users (and even clients) appropriate access. Whatever information you have for your client, there is a spot to store it. The offer a lot of integrations with RMMs, PSAs and other IT vendors.

Cons

The granular permissions come at the cost of a learning curve in understanding how the permissions work. IT Glue tries to incorporate a lot of functionality to make it a more useful and all-in-one tool, but much of the functionality is just not good. For example, you can create checklists that can be reused on different sites but it is very basic. We use Process St for checklists and couldn't imagine moving to such an inferior product for a bit of convenience. The password manager is about where other mainstream password managers were 10 years ago. We were embarrassed to offer it to our clients. The website is not aesthetically pleasing and the app has only limited functionality. I have found the customer support to be terrible.

Good product, but greedy company and pushy sales people

Reviewed 6 years ago
Pros

The flexible asset system helps you tailor the experience to your individual needs - the default templates were good but being able to easily customize them made them better. The audit log is helpful for seeing changes made in the system and is useful when an employee leaves, so you know what passwords need to be changed. If configured properly, the Chrome extension saves time when logging into various websites. Lots of integrations with PSA/RMM systems.

Cons

The company has filled a niche in the MSP market for documentation. They don't have many competitors. As such, they use this as an excuse to price gouge their customers and provide customer service that basically says "if you don't like us, good luck finding another product". They boast how they are constantly "upgrading and adding new features". What they fail to say is these new features are...

Safe storage for all your important passwords

Reviewed 5 months ago
Pros

Having a safe offsite location that we can all access at different levels of access for all our critical passwords, contact data, disaster recovery planning and more is such a fundamental key part of any IT infrastructure. IT Glue provides exactly that, and does it very well.

Cons

It is not the cheapest solution but its the best for a reason and you'll be glad you used it if the unthinkable happens and you find yourself in disaster recovery scenario

Time is money and because this saves time...it makes us money

Reviewed 3 years ago

At first, it was hard to see a business case for implementing this product, as we used Evernote and we were fairly well organized, but with the addition of new employees, it became clear that more was needed. Once you go through the training and understand the concept of standardization, the tool magically unlocks its powers. You find information easily, and we can categorize information in a way that makes sense for us. Because it's a tool we use constantly throughout our day, the price was a no-brainer and fully get value for the small investment. Time is money, therefore saving time is allowing us to do more, in our day.

Pros

Access to credentials is easy and painless. The RunBook export was really amazing and well laid out. It made us look very professional.

Cons

The Mobile App is not very user friendly. It also does not show all information of the full product, but good when in a jam.

Good value, but wish it did more natively

Reviewed a year ago
Pros

Secure password management, and the ability to generate random passwords.

Cons

The global search needs improvement. I wish I could see a list of search results on its own page instead of the "type-ahead" style results only. Type-ahead can be delayed, resulting in irrelevant results being selected by accident.

IT Glue Review: A Comprehensive IT Documentation and Management Platform

Reviewed a year ago

Overall, IT Glue is an excellent platform for IT teams looking to streamline their documentation and management processes. While it may not be suitable for everyone due to its pricing and learning curve, its features and customization options make it a valuable tool for businesses and organizations that rely heavily on IT.

Pros

Comprehensive IT documentation and management platform.Helps to centralize and organize IT documentation, including passwords, credentials, network configurations, service contracts, and more.Improves efficiency and productivity in IT asset management, troubleshooting, and customer support.Integrates with other IT tools, such as PSA and RMM, to enhance collaboration and workflow.Offers a wide range of features and customization options to meet the specific needs of IT teams.

Cons

May be expensive for small businesses or individual IT professionals.Steep learning curve for users who are new to IT documentation and management. Some features, such as automated password rotation, may require additional setup and configuration.Limited mobile app functionality, which may be inconvenient for remote IT support.

Solid Documentation Platform, Always Delivers

Reviewed a year ago

Overall it's an extremely solid platform to work in. Support has been great when needed. Once it has been set up, its very easy to navigate and work in.

Pros

I like the integrations with different PSA tools and the ability to build SOPs within the application itself.

Cons

The price is a little spendy, but it's worth it for what it provides. There is a slight learning curve when setting up new customers and getting the integrations to work.

Transitioning from customer documentation stored in several placed to IT Glue was a breeze.

Reviewed 6 years ago
Pros

In the past we kept customer password in one system , documents in another. We love that IT Glue keeps it all in one place. IT Glue captures so much more that we could never have captures using spreadsheets and shared folders. Our operational maturity took a huge leap forward when we moved to IT Glue.

Cons

Price. I would only ever consider their enterprise product which, if you have a large team, can become costly. However, the benefit of having it all available in one place and the ease at which it can be accessed outweighs the price drawback.
