Our commitment
Independent research methodology
Our researchers use a mix of verified reviews, independent research, and objective methodologies to bring you selection and ranking information you can trust. While we may earn a referral fee when you visit a provider through our links or speak to an advisor, this has no influence on our research or methodology.
Verified user reviews
GetApp maintains a proprietary database of millions of in-depth, verified user reviews across thousands of products in hundreds of software categories. Our data scientists apply advanced modeling techniques to identify key insights about products based on those reviews. We may also share aggregated ratings and select excerpts from those reviews throughout our site.
Our human moderators verify that reviewers are real people and that reviews are authentic. They use leading tech to analyze text quality and to detect plagiarism and generative AI.
How GetApp ensures transparency
GetApp lists all providers across its website—not just those that pay us—so that users can make informed purchase decisions. GetApp is free for users. Software providers pay us for sponsored profiles to receive web traffic and sales opportunities. Sponsored profiles include a link-out icon that takes users to the provider’s website.

NetCrunch overview
What is NetCrunch?
AdRem NetCrunch is an agentless network monitoring and management system to track services uptime, bandwidth, and detailed performance of routers, switches, firewalls, and other infrastructure devices in real-time. It supports traffic flow monitoring and Cisco NBAR technology for detailed application flow monitoring and top-talkers troubleshooting.
With AdRem NetCrunch, users can monitor any network infrastructure devices as well as other devices that are part of your organization such as printers, cameras, security sensors, environmental sensors or even some diagnostic medical devices, production devices or traffic lights. If it is online, NetCrunch in most cases can get performance data from it, read it from text file, REST API or have it pushed to NetCrunch.
NetCrunch comes with out-of-the-box agentless monitors of all major servers, applications, and virtualization hosts. Further to monitoring duties, NetCrunch incorporates live visualization for automatic layer 2 maps, routing maps, traffic flow analytics, alert analytics, and various performance top charts displaying the most overloaded resources. It offers live performance dashboards and graphical views where you can display live value or status of any metric or alert tracked by NetCrunch, with background shapes, images, floor or geo maps, with automatic refresh and status change signaling that looks awesome on large screens in the server room or NOC. What;s more, various views that can be programmed for automatic rotation.
Users can visualize current performance and monitor live status using dashboard maps, advanced layer-2 mapping, and traffic dashboards and analytics.
NetCrunch offers extensive alerting actions and automatic alert correlation alongside performance data analysis capabilities, where users can create reports and examine network traffic trends. Its unique active alerts feature enables you to concentrate on current, non-resolved issues in your network rather than endlessly browsing through event logs or overflowing email inboxes. To the relief of busy admins, NetCrunch allows assigning automatic self-healing actions/remediation or control actions in response to alerting events - NetCrunch can try to reboot the system or restart service or execute some script. You can easily define such alert and escalation scripts for various areas of your network and apply them by multiselecting appropriate devices.
Active alerts together with conditional alert options provide a dynamic approach to monitoring that can adapt to changing network conditions. For example, if a server is experiencing high CPU utilization during peak usage hours, an active alert can be triggered, but if the same level of CPU utilization is observed during off-peak hours, the alert may not be triggered or can be triggered at different value or only if it persists for a certain time. This allows IT professionals to focus on critical network events that require immediate attention while reducing false positives that can result in alert fatigue.
AdRem NetCrunch monitors all leading OS types like Windows, Linux, Mac OS X, VMWare ESX/ESXi, and BSD. It has an inbuilt MIB compiler to ensure complete SNMP support. AdRem NetCrunch’s SNMP support allows users to collect data useful for troubleshooting and long-term analysis. The NetCrunch UI complete with a summary dashboard and top charts enables users to work more efficiently while the range of extensive alerting actions ensures users prioritize and react to unresolved issues first. Collected data can be used to create reports or converted into graph format, giving users detailed insight into the systems and services being monitored.
Key benefits of using NetCrunch
In addition, NetCrunch includes a built-in MIB browser that allows you to browse and search SNMP MIB (Management Information Base) files, which contain information about the performance and status of SNMP-enabled devices. The MIB browser allows you to quickly and easily locate the information you need to monitor and manage your network devices.
NetCrunch also provides advanced SNMP trap handling capabilities, which allow you to receive SNMP trap messages and configure custom alerting and response actions based on the contents of those messages. This can help you to quickly identify and respond to network issues and minimize downtime.
