Simple SMS broadcasting tool to help reach customers

Pros

- Integration is straight forward - SMS support functionality is superb - the dashboard provides an effective visual interface

Cons

The application is cloud based and thus requires a constant and stable connection to the internet which can be expensive and inconvenient

Really cheap way to send SMS messages and voicemails.

It's also extremely customizable via their API. The code samples are helpful and making API calls is very simple.

Cons

Pretty much the only way to use the software is to program it via the API.

Still stuck on a WhatsApp integration because facebook won't authorize a company's facebook page despite sharing the company legal forms/requirements.

Pros

This offers ample build time and usability period to run proper production simulation before purchasing the commercial product.

Cons

It would be great if Twilio took lead on some of these if possible, represent or sale this representation so that the client doesn't need to go back and forth to meet various third party requirements.

Creating custom tailored apps on my main home PC that will push SMS to my phone to alert me of various behaviors and activities has been a massive time saver.

Pros

Ease of use regarding app integration. Within 10 minutes, I was sending test messages to myself.

Cons

I have only used it in small scale personal apps so I have no idea how the cost and efficiency scales as you start sending thousands or millions of SMS messages to a massive client base but so far so good.

Pros

Twilio provides a very straightforward interface to programmatically integration calls and texts in to software applications.

Cons

The price point for calls and texts are a bit on the high side. Some of the more complex configurations might be a bit hard to set up, although their documentation IS quite thorough.

This platform is the best you can find to extend notification and collaboration using traditional communication devices.

Pros

The rich feature library that Twilio offers; from being able to send a SMS to being able to script an IVR conversation and automating every interaction with customers or internal users.

Cons

I think the interface could help a bit more with the definition of tokens and session id keys, it's confusing sometimes if you're using one project or another.

For a global application that require sms, call, verification features etc that values speed and assurance of delivery and has active income or is funded, I would definitely recommend Twilio.

Pros

Cons

Use Fatures of phone in your Program

Mostly we use this tool for WhatsApp API and its bulk messaging tool for digital marketing and SEO related business.

Pros

But the main feature which we use in our organization is the beta version of its WhatApp API to connect with clients over WhatApp directly via the programs.

Cons

Also, most of the APIs provided are third party and we do not know if they are that much trustable as Twilio itself.

We've grown over time with Twilio to take advantage of more and more of their services.

Pros

Their documentation is outstanding and they've build a lot of UI based tools on their website to setup fairly complex workflows without having to code.

Cons

There are some quirks to some of the areas of their products (sorting/searching doesn't work in some places, no ability to mass-refile errored messages, etc). These can generally be worked around but would make the overall experience better and more efficient.

Pros

I love that twilio provides a texting feature which can be integrated with 3rd party software's to enhances there ability to better suit business needs.

Cons

Sometimes servers go down for twilio which causes disruptions for our texting feature, however this can be expected for any software company that provides a large scale service.

We've used Twilio to power several text messaging applications, some with pretty complex logic and routing.

Pros

Very straightforward API design, plenty of helpful documentation - we had a functioning Twilio app running in no time.

Cons

Pretty minor, but their dashboard UI layout likes to nest certain menus so you have to do a bit of digging sometimes to figure out where a particular setting or piece of information is.

generally speaking very happy we haven't had any significant issues with twilio and it's allowed us to accomplish our texting needs seamlessly in Salesforce.

Pros

We actually use a third party UI called Mogli.

Cons

It was a bit of a pain to set up a tool like this on an invoice basis instead of a charge as needed basis.

Great call recording features for quality assurance

We were able to monitor phone calls to improve customer service and employee training

Pros

We use the call recording component of Twilio to record inbound customer service, sales, and support calls. We had the recording integrated with our website via the specialty phone numbers that we put on site. This gave us tremendous insight into our customer experience process. I can't speak to the implementation part since it was handled by our website provider, but using it was very simple.

Cons

Since we utilized the client side integration, I can't speak much to the native Twilio functionality.

Just about every telephony feature you want

Had pretty seamless integration into custom site caller application and easy audit trails for calls I was working on.

Pros

RESTful API makes integrating scripts very easy and is highly salable, quick and easy to provision SMS and phone number services as well as advanced call attendant and recording features.

Cons

Nothing comes to mind for my use case but it is possible the platform does not comply with certain regulatory requirements for certain institutions (not sure if this is the case, but worth investigating).
