IMO the ultimate "app" for online marketing is/was/and will remain email. Today we have many choices at all price points to help us with email marketing, but Active Campaign stands alone for all that it offers. Value for money - check. Smart systems - check. Community involvement - check. For years I used a competitors product and when I was ready to change, compared pretty much all the systems; this one (Active Campaign) is the leader for a small business leader like me.

Pros: The automations and tagging process makes it easy to segment your email lists -- doing so always increases your sales.

Cons: There is a bit of a learning curve - but their support is there to help you through it.

This is one hell of a product. The perfect way to get started with marketing automation without having to get a second mortgage on your house.

Pros: A very friendly and intuitive interface that will have you creating your own automations within a few minutes. The CRM functionality also adds a lot of value for you money.

Cons: I really don't have anything bad to say, it's a great product.

I was using InfusionSoft and found it to be VERY expensive and quite difficult to manage. ActiveCampaign has delivered nearly the same results I was looking for at a fraction of the price. I have managed to automate most of my marketing tasks that were edging into my sales and production time. In a nutshell, ActiveCampaign does what it says it will do, is easy to use and much less expensive than InfusionSoft!

Pros: Ease of use Features and controls Price

Cons: Help area could be a bit more in-depth.

The features rival those of high end automation suites (which cost in the $1,000's), with tracking and tons of automation options, at an extremely competitive price. It seems like they pretty much copied MailChimp's pricing (which is low), and undercut it by $5-10. The only con is the documentation isn't always so clear for every feature, and they're constantly updating (which is good), so the documentation is sometimes outdated. That said, they have chat support that I've been able to get a hold of within 5 mins all three times I contacted them who are extremely knowledgeable and helpful.

Pros: Price lower than mailchimp Features better than most (all?) marketing & automation suites Good UI White labeling (if you're into that) Excellent support The list goes on and on...

Cons: Documentation doesn't keep up with development (not comprehensive) Lists are confusing; why do you need lists when you have tags? Apparently you need separate lists if you want different confirmation pages.

Thanks for the kind comments! We have plenty of updates coming out in the near future for email, automation, and our CRM.

Lists are definitely more of a legacy item and tags are quickly growing to eventually replace them in most aspects. Things like the confirmation pages/forms/etc.. will all be updated to support that type of thinking in the future.
