User opinions about Lightspeed Retail price and value

Value for money rating:

Of 102 reviews that provide robust commentary on Lightspeed Retail's price and value, 41% mention it in a positive light.

Some reviewers find Lightspeed Retail offers a competitive price point, especially considering the range of features included in its standard plans, such as inventory management and flexible hardware options. Users think the availability of a free trial and occasional discounts or startup offers help lower the initial investment and reduce risk. Some reviewers feel the system is cost-effective compared to larger competitors, with several noting that the bundled features and ease of use justify the expense. Reviewers appreciate that certain add-ons, like analytics and loyalty programs, are available, though they note these may come at additional but reasonable costs. Some users say the hardware and implementation costs are manageable, and they value the time savings the software provides, which they believe offsets the price.

However, some users report that Lightspeed Retail can become expensive, especially as additional features, registers, or advanced reporting require extra fees. Reviewers indicate frustration with pricing changes, unexpected add-ons, and limitations in lower-tier plans that push them toward pricier subscriptions. Some reviewers feel the monthly fees and hardware costs are higher than those of other POS systems, and they express concerns about unclear communication regarding total costs. Users think that for smaller businesses or those with basic needs, the price may not always align with the value received.

“In terms of value for money I don't think there is any software to match Lightspeed and the fact that it is Mac based not only does it look visually good in store, it works! ”
DT

Drage T.

“Even the barcode label printer will only work with an specific brand that costs almost 3 times than a generic. If you are ok with paying 3 times more than every other POS system, then this is your choice.”
