Karbon has three different pricing plans with the most popular one being Business. Karbon offers an annual and monthly subscription. It starts at $59/month if billed annually, or $75/month if billed monthly.

I like the fact that this software gives me visibility on Work that is not complete, by person, by budget, by client, by type of work. The flexibility of seeing reporting is great.
The ability to monitor workflow, tag emails to client as well as the specific work being done is priceless. Information doesn't get misplaced and its so easy to stay on top of deadlines.

Essential Product for Accounting Workflow Management and Team Efficiency

Pros

I love the system in general. The personal training for team members was amazing. Additionally, it is wonderful to work with a company that really listens to feedback and suggestions. There are constant improvements and upgrades that the development team rolls out based on customer needs. All of the above combined with the basic features have made the product addictive! I truly cannot imagine my workday without Karbon.

Cons

It's a big investment for a small firm. I wish that the cost would come down a bit. However, if used properly this product can increase efficiency assisting to create capacity within a firm. It was also difficult to get full team "buy-in". There is a lot of initial set-up required to create full usability; however, once the time is invested it pays HUGE dividends by way of efficiency and standardized processes.

Karbon - The best tool for an accounting practice

Pros

Allows me to have a wholistic view of our company through tools like My Week. Very useful to be able to manage and allocate work at the beginning of the week through the my week tool. Triage and the ability to assign/tasks/emails/mentions to employees, clients or client specific work. There is also an integration coming with suit files that will be very useful for practices i.e. some features that will come are document signing client portal integrations, and document management. This will help us automate a lot more. Auto-maters are definitely very useful, partially the ability to automatically change job statuses and assign tasks/work to colleges according where the job is in the process.

Cons

Definitely not being able to independently bulk update tasks without having to pay. Bulk update features are very important but not available (unless you pay the $999 build fee package, which might to expensive for some). The lack of integrations are (most notably, not integrating with Xero or XPM). The best option is if you already have Ignition (this allows content to flow from XPM to Ignition than to Karbon). No integrations into CRM systems. Automated do not have an "IF" functionality where if i.e. the client doesn't need to have more documents requested while the work is completed there should be the ability to tick a box that automatically triggers a different work flow.

Very good and would recommend for any business that shares jobs and needs to keep track of what’s done.

Pros

The lost of tasks and ticking off as I go is great. It was of exceptional value when o had staff.

Cons

I find the weekly section confusing. I would also prefer a “cleaner” screen for emails.

Excellent Management Tool

Pros

Allows for a highly organized system for all facets of your business. Having the ability to delegate and assign work, check on the progress of each task by creating checklists, and have your email filtered in so that nothing is overlooked has been immensely helpful to our business.

Cons

I suppose depending on the size of your team, it can get expensive, however I do believe the benefit and time savings would outweigh the cost. I would also like to see a better notification system when checklists have items left unchecked for more than the duration of the job post. This would help prevent steps being overlooked or ignored.

Simply Awesome Software

Pros

- One stop shop to see everything that is going on within the firm - Multiple ways to view information to manage work or see the tasks I need to do - Easy to oversee lots of pieces of work - Manageable inbox - Work templates make workflow standardized and easy to accomplish - Team actually uses (and loves) it!

Cons

- A bit hard to navigate to information within a client record - simple design mean sometimes there is a lot of clicking - No mail merge/email template database yet - have to keep an external email template database and add to commonly sent emails. - Beautiful design can come at a cost of having to click around a bit.

Quick to learn and heaps of support!

Our firm was looking for something that could help us easily manage our day-to-day activities easily. Karbon definitely has given us that capability! With its features growing more and more we find ourselves consistently integrating new and value adding practices. The support team at Karbon thoroughly listens and takes notes on what its users want and prioritizes and implements those things timely with lots of training and how-tos accessible.

Pros

There's less slipping-through-the-crack items Setting up projects is a breeze and recurring work ACTUALLY works Lots of customization within projects Creating to-dos from emails and on the fly Karbon support is the best

Cons

More people aren't using it!

Not worth the money - there are lots of other options

I hope it's improved since I tried using it. I know Karbon has a lot of positive reviews, and it has always confused me because I liked a lot of the other project management applications we looked at better than it. But who knows - maybe my brain just doesn't work right for this particular piece of software.

Pros

It's a good-looking, flashy app. I liked being able to assign emails to coworkers and clients and my own tasks. Full disclosure: we used this for about three months at my company and then abandoned it. It just was not helpful to us.

Cons

My list of complaints about Karbon is long. Mostly, I feel like they hint at features that only technically exist. For example, Karbon integrates with QuickBooks Online, but I cannot understand why. It doesn't pull in relevant company information from QBO - not even company addresses. Those have to be manually entered. And yes, you can read your emails in Karbon, but you lose a lot of Gmail functionality...

Very Poor service (after you have purchased)

Brutal - Do not buy this software. There are cheaper and better ones out there that have a better track record.

Pros

Planned features were great, but in operation were very clunky and still being developed. Despite its polished look, this software is far from ready for use.

Cons

The support. The sales team are super nice, and accommodating until you have purchased and they will tell you anything, including lies to get you to buy. Once you need support or assistance, good luck! They are currently withholding our client data in their system so we will continue to pay them!

A must have to delegate work

Pros

WIth Karbon I am finally able to effectively delegate work and control execution. Standardize work processes and customize when necessary.

Cons

More expensive as other solutions. However, I tried multiple and Karbon is by far the best and worth the price.

Pros

This is a great app that can save time and make your team more efficient All the process get streamline and all your staff would treat each client the same way!

Cons

You have to make a habit of opening karbon app first thing in the morning and get everyone in to the same tune as well If one team member is not working on the app properly it is hard to track and pay per user could be quite expensive. So nothing wrong with the app but with the commitment of using

Product tailored to running an accounting firm

Great experience!

Pros

"Client tasks" and gentle reminders is one of the features I love in Karbon. Following up with client is never fun and automating it just makes so much sense. Work templates is another feature that increases one's productivity.

Cons

Nothing comes to mind... Perhaps, one can always complain about the price, but I find the value is well justified.

Great tool for managing our team

Pros

Centralized tool to manage remote teams. Automated emails to clients for open items. Clear dashboard visuals for open items for users and staff. Integration with Office 365 email. Excellent support and training.

Cons

Pricing can feel a little high when you roll it out to a large team. Training is necessary to push out to a team (Karbon does provide this).

Karbon - getting our small practice sorted!

Pros

Karbon is easy to use and helps us keep to our processes. Having the chat function under help has really helped us settle into a new system quickly.

Cons

It is a step up in price from what we were using but so far I think it has been well worth it and I am excited about the features coming soon. Once timesheets are available it will become great value for money for us.
