Two-factor authentication that just works!

Reviewed 4 years ago

Our organization has been using Duo Security two-factor authentication for years. The entire solution is incredibly reliable. The mobile app works great and is very easy to use. End-users can quickly and easily enroll their own devices via a self-service portal. This is very convenient whenever you get a new phone. Approval notifications can also be sent via phone, text or push. Push notifications are also supported on the Apple Watch. Although it's rarely needed, online support documentation is very robust. The best thing about Duo Security is...it just works, every time.

Pros

- User-friendly self-service portal for new device enrollment and management - New account setup is easily done via scanning a QR code - Multiple options for approval codes or notifications including phone, text or push (includes Apple Watch) - Push notifications can be approved directly from the iOS lock screen - Approval is also compatible with Face ID on iOS devices - One-time bypass codes can be used for lost devices or temporary access - Support for Universal 2nd Factor (U2F) security tokens - Great online support and documentation library - Flexible subscription plans with affordable pricing

Cons

When using an outdated version of the app, iOS push notifications just stop working without any error message or notification

Security on all levels for your business with DUO Security

Reviewed a year ago

Overall this software is ideal for any business that wants to limit users on platforms and software. I highly recommend it.

Pros

The DUO app and software is quick and easy to use and does what they advertise - they only let in approved users to the platform or software. My work is completely safe and allows my clients to know that their information is handled with caution and is not given to third parties.

Cons

I would love the best of their software to be free but at less than five dollars a month per user you can't ask for more really. There is a free version out there for the cost conscious.

Flexible and Easy to Implement MFA

Reviewed 4 months ago

We use Duo to provide better security to our end users and to comply with regulatory requirements. The solution is inexpensive, easy to use and integrate with the existing applications.

Pros

Duo is a cheap, flexible solution that allows a company to easily implement MFA on corporate applications.Pros: - Out of the box integrations with applications such as Office365, Salesforce, Microsoft ADFS, etc.- Adding users is easy, with several enrollment methods (automatic, email based, sms based, etc.)- Using the application is easy, it is just a matter of accepting a push, or entering a numeric code.

Cons

So far I haven't had any issues with the solution. It was implemented for Office365 and ADFS in less than an hour.

Beware! Customer service has been non-existent following Cisco acquisition

Reviewed 3 years ago
Pros

We have used Duo for many years. It was easy to implement and has always worked well.

Cons

Last year we negotiated bulk pricing and paid in advance for a 14-month term. Later we discovered that they had never provisioned our licenses and were still billing our credit card. Now, four months later, after numerous phone calls and more than a dozen emails, they have still not provisioned the licenses we paid for. They have acknowledged that this is their mistake and they need to fix it, but they seem incapable of doing so. I get the sense that their organization is completely dysfunctional following the Cisco acquisition. Given that they cannot solve the challenge of "how does a customer purchase your software?", I am worried what might happen if you came to them with anything more difficult.

One of the most amazing Security tools in the market

Reviewed a year ago
Pros

Easy to use. Allows smooth and detailed authentication of unknown users which protect the company from cyber frauds. Very secured tool by cisco and widely deployed in many organisations. Their application on mobile is also smooth and great. It protects user's data in the safest way

Cons

Third party integrations with tools and software in which we want to add MFA or authentication can be hard sometimes due to compatibility issues with this tool. Secondly, there are lots of tools in market which provide similar features and IT security protection in cheaper prices.

very well managed service

Reviewed 2 years ago

The software is great but we have to handhold customers a bit in managing the role out of it

Pros

we deploy this for customers and are very impressed with the range od documentation and user guides Duo make available. Duo are very proactive about any outages or issues on their network and seem to resolve these quickly. none have directly affected us

Cons

It is slightly expensive, well its not but customers perceive it to be as we have to recharge the licence but they are used to 2FA for free with other services. It's actually reasonable for what it is.

Most Cost-Effective Solution for MFA Implementation in Network and Compliance

Reviewed 6 months ago

Helped us with Cyber Security compliance so we can bring our insurance premium down. A big cost saving!

Pros

Easy to deploy to multiple machines manually or at once, the admin portal is easy to follow and allow exceptions. Cost is very down to earth!

Cons

Sometimes as an MSP, we've a common Support login account and we want to have multiple members in our team authenticate via MFA using their own devices. The product does not give option to do so via the Duo app, although it is possible to have a security code manually used for MFA (which lets us use the product that way).

Easy To Use

Reviewed 3 years ago

Overall, this is a great security platform for most organizations. It's user friendly and easily deployable

Pros

DUO is an extremely user friendly security software. This is an effective solution that can be implemented at every employee level of an enterprise. Options available with physical tokens or via mobile application make it versatile for any environment.

Cons

I haven't come into many issues with DUO and I used several other options on the market. The only drawback is there are more cost effective options available.

2FA King

Reviewed 2 years ago

This has been my go-to for 2FA login. The setup is a breeze and so is the use. If you are looking for an affordable (free) 2FA login (Which everyone will be eventually) this is your app!

Pros

I use this software daily to access a large government customer of ours. The sign-on process pushing an accept or deny to my phone with ease. Makes my life very simple for accessing critical websites. I've also used this for 2FA on bitcoin as well.

Cons

This product is really as simple as mentioned. You expect or deny sign-in. There is nothing to not like about it.

Overall positive. Feels like there's areas of opportunity for the application to be even better.

Pros

It did exactly what I needed of it. I'd use it every day to log in to my computer to make sure it's me logging in, to help ensure privacy.

Cons

It did nothing else and if I changed phones, there was a bit of an issue in terms of connecting to my account.

DUO is a great choice, although this is not the cheapest solution.

Reviewed 5 years ago

DOU was a great choice in everything. Compared to some of the other multi-factor platforms, this is by far the easiest to manage and configure. This product gave the company a clear and clear documentation, which reflected its platform as one of the best. It is the best choice.

Pros

It is very good that it is compatible with Apple Watchcon. The design is very intuitive and has an excellent Interfax, you do not need training to use it. In addition, the documentation they provide is well written. Support is quick answer any question. The end-user experience is very simple and easy. The product works and they have given us great support by bringing systems online. DOU is the best product I found in the market.

Cons

I'm just saying it's expensive. It is the only bad thing that this product has. I think we are getting all the quality we want ... DOU is necessary for the company and I do not regret using it.

It’s good.

Reviewed 3 years ago

Overall good. Seems like good security. I’ve never had any bad issues or complaints.

Pros

We use this for two factor I’d for work apps. It’s nice. I like the layout and the ability to customize adding our logos and all. It really is similar to other apps though.

Cons

It’s really finicky when I have low phone signal compared to others. Seems to sign out too quickly and require many sign ins when using multiple University apps off campus. Wish there was a one and done solution.

Duo is annoying to use but I see the value in it

Reviewed 5 years ago
Pros

I like that I know the services Duo is protecting are actually being protected and nobody is going to be logging into my accounts. I like how you can click on the SAVE FOR 30 DAYS button on a specific device so you don't have to get permission every time.

Cons

I get my Duo security access on my phone which is nice because I have my phone with me most of the time. However, on a few occasion I haven't had my phone with me and then I'm not able to log into my stuff. ANNOYING!

Easy and Cost-Effective Multi-Factor Authentication for Your Company

Reviewed a year ago

I am very pleased with Duo Security so far. I've been able to use MFA for both online and offline applications and never had an issue. I'm glad to know our logins are secure and protected!

Pros

The ease of deployment and quick integration essentially allowed our company to switch over to Duo MFA "overnight," and it hasn't disrupted our workflow at all. If anything, the customer support and superior product have made us all more confident that our work was protected and that we were meeting modern standards for privacy and security.

Cons

The only downside - and it's inherent to MFA in general - is making sure my phone or other device is nearby when I log on. But I've become used to that since adopting and now it's second nature!

Works well and easy to integrate

Reviewed 3 years ago

It's fast and works well with multiple options to authenticate. The free version is great too for what it provides but long term it may prove to be too expensive for us.

Pros

It does what it's supposed to do with an easy management interface. The ability to upload users via csv is really helpful too.

Cons

We really want the ability to prompt users to enroll if they are not already, but let them bypass if they want to login using the site/app directly. Currently this isn't a policy that we can set. You either have to force or allow bypass all together. Can be pricey as well when compared to alternatives like Google.

Affordable Access Control for WordPress

Reviewed a year ago

I am happy with the product. I wasn't having problems with hacking before so it's hard to compare whether it is truly more secure, but one can't be too sure these days. The support team helped me figure out some issues I was having the initially prevented installing the plugin. Since then, it's been smooth sailing.

Pros

I like that I can add an additional login step to protect my WordPress installation from intruders.

Cons

The interface is a little clunky and I find it a bit confusing to actually login. They could probably smooth things to make it easier to use.
