Built on Semantic Understanding: Matching reads for evidence of a skill rather than keyword overlap — a candidate who wrote "led sprint planning and delivery" is credited for Agile experience without ever using the phrase. A language model reads a PII-stripped CV against the job description and returns a structured list of competency dimensions, each with an evidence citation. It returns no score, no ranking and no recommendation.

Deterministic Candidate Match Scoring: The score is computed by a fixed, published formula running as ordinary code outside the model: CMS = Σ(CSS × JRIS) / Σ(JRIS), where CSS measures how strongly the CV evidences a dimension and JRIS measures how critical the employer marked it. Five to nine dimensions are derived per job rather than applied from a generic rubric, and a hard-blocker rule pins any missing mandatory requirement to zero so strength elsewhere cannot mathematically offset it. Identical inputs produce an identical score on any date, run by any recruiter, and the arithmetic is reproducible by hand from the audit report — which is what makes a screening decision defensible when a candidate, a works council or a regulator asks how it was reached.

Human Decision-Making: Scoring narrows a pool; it does not make the hiring decision, and Expertini does not claim it should. Interviews are scheduled from the candidate record with structured scorecards captured against that interview. Team notes and votes sit alongside the score rather than being blended into it, so evidence-based measurement and human judgement stay visible as two distinct inputs, and teams can withhold the score from interviewers until feedback is submitted.
