Great, user-friendly CRM tool for small businesses

Overall Nutshell has really helped us with our initial sales/setup processes and is very user-friendly while still being customizable. The customer service support is top notch and it has helped us have a smaller learning curve implementing software into the company.

Pros

There are a ton of features like contact management, task management, forecasting/reporting modules, etc.

Cons

When I don't make the call by that time, it will go into unlogged activities which can feel stressful/hectic.

Pros

The affordability makes it a great first CRM for new and small businesses.

Cons

Importing can sometimes result in a lot of duplicate leads, so data cleanliness becomes a bit of an issue as you grow.

Ease of creating reports, notifications, and ability to rope in multiple users on leads to keep everyone up to date.

Cons

Exporting reports is not ideal for importing into email marketing solutions and email marketing integrations like MailChimp are fairly weak.

We previously used a locally-installed, server-based CRM (Goldmine), which was very functional but completely not portable.

Pros

Easy migration from old CRM via CSV import. Activity management and to do lists keep users organized and on task.

Cons

I would love to see Nutshell offer integrations to more third-party apps.

Nutshell has taken place of my company communication which has replaced email and texting.

Pros

Love the integration with 3rd party programs like mail chimp and any other automation systems.

Cons

iOS app needs some more tweaking with being able to have the little blue bubble on activities when viewing activities from the activity menu or when viewing activities on the account info page.

The automation of the sales process is excellent and the customized template of the sales process makes it really easy to remind the sames reps of what steps are to be taken next.

Pros

Easy to use and the reporting section is just amazing and very easy to customize your own reports and save them to reuse. The social aspect of mentioning team members and accounts is great.

I would like to see more updates, especially in the mobile app

Integrates great with Gmail, great mobile app for making adjustments on the go and the desktop platform is easy to use.

Pros

Customizable for varying types of sales processes.

Cons

It's small but to open with a Gmail account, you have to find it in the Gmail apps rather than there being a link on the login page of Nutshell that allows you to login through Gmail. Small but when I close my computer down it's a bit of a process to log back in.

Advanced search with tag EXCLUSION in filters Periodically send reports in email as pdf (eg: like Google Analytics)

Cons

Leads are not assigned directly to the owner of the company: I must reassign manually every time. In Company window I like view annual leads amount, and not total lead amount.

I also really like the activity tracking, todo list tasks, and last contact.

Cons

Another change that would be nice for larger databases would be last viewed columns, say you didn't email them etc it would be nice to know the last time called or time the account was reviewed by a particular user.

- Straightforward interface; easy to train new people - The ability to import emails via "bcc@nutshell.com" to keep track of conversations and relationships across many offices - Easy to bulk upload or update contacts or companies with tags - Thoughtful reports - Generally responsive customer support team - The 'merge duplicates' feature is very helpful

built in reports, I am still having to export all the data and do the conversion myself and create the reports again in Excel.

We get a cost effective CRM that frees up cash flow for use elsewhere in our business.

Pros

Nutshell offers a unique ability to tag people in activities and run reports on calling activities for my sales reps.

Cons

But if you don't save the activity in the lead, and instead under the company or individual contact, you can't see it when your client calls in regarding the sale they want service for, so your customer service is hindered and your sales people look like they don't know the history of the account.

Good news, you can remove a contact from a specific company without deleting the contact. You can either go to the person page and remove the company or go to the company page and remove the person from the company. In both cases, the contact still exists but is no longer linked to the company. Please feel free to call our customer support team and they can walk you through the steps.

The software is easy to update so our entire company can stay up to date on proposal stage activities for any of our teams.

Cons

Example: If I have a general email related to ACME Corp., as soon as I create a new lead with ACME Corp. that unrelated email shows up in the feed for the new lead.

Pros

Plus they offer social insights based on company domain and email, which auto populates lead data.

Cons

The email tracking is scant and doesn't track opens accurately, plus the emails sent from the CRM could be enhanced with HTML options.

It seems intuitive to learn. The CRM integrates with Google and Twitter, and has mobile apps.

Cons

The CRM did not like my IMAP email--it took over a week to get it to work.
