What is Statuspage?
Statuspage is a cloud-based status and incident communication solution from Atlassian to keep users informed during planned and unplanned downtime, with real-time incident notifications, scheduled maintenance notifications, and more.
Statuspage allows users to opt-in to notifications via SMS, email, and webhook, with multiple SMS and email provider integrations to ensure that notifications are delivered. Users can subscribe to receive notifications for incidents or scheduled maintenance, and opt-in to receive notifications only for specific service components, such as APIs, databases, or dashboards. Notifications can be sent out for the creation and resolution of real-time or scheduled incidents, incident updates, publishing of postmortems, and component status changes.
Statuspage can also be used to display an uptime showcase and various system performance metrics. 90-day uptime records can be displayed directly on the component status page, and full historical uptime is shown on the dedicated ‘/uptime’ page. Individual days are color-coded based on the number of minutes the component spent in either the Partial Outage or Major Outage state. Public metrics, such as API response time, web server uptime, current exception rates, and more can be pulled from external systems including Pingdom and New Relic, and displayed on the status page.
Statuspage’s private pages enable the communication of incidents and status updates with employees, removing the need for mass IT communication emails. Through integration with Jira Service Desk, real-time status information can be displayed within the service desk portal to notify affected employees before they submit a ticket about the issue. Status updates can also be provided through Slack and HipChat to keep IT, engineering, and ops teams informed while they work on the incident, and pages can be integrated with PagerDuty, VictorOps, OpsGenie, and xMatters to automate IT communication.
