User opinions about Mailgun price and value

Value for money rating:

Of 46 reviews that provide robust commentary on Mailgun's price and value, 48% mention it in a positive light.

Some users say Mailgun offers a generous free tier, which is beneficial for small businesses and startups. They find the pay-as-you-go pricing model attractive and appreciate the flexibility to pay based on usage. Reviewers indicate that the service is reliable and reasonably priced, with good documentation and customer support even on the free plan. However, some users report that the pricing becomes steep as email volume increases, making it less competitive for larger-scale operations. They also mention that the removal of the free plan and hidden costs behind paywalls are drawbacks. Some reviewers feel that the advanced features are costly and not always necessary.

I needed a free solution to send transactional emails on wordpress. And Mailgun came as one of the favourites and also they had a good free plan.
The pricing, including the free tier, is much more generous than what you can get with some pricier providers, like SendGrid.
The opening price is pretty high for an account with any sort of features, which makes it tough to justify using their service for a small project.
