Reliable Conference Software

Reviewed 5 years ago

My overall experience with Zoom is extremely good. The software is lightweight but very heavy hitting. It is packed with important features, controls and abilities. I feel this software one of the best on the market for audio video conferencing.

Pros

What I like most about Zoom software is that the software is available to use a no charge. The software has several features that I find to be extremely efficient Zoom allows you to have a one on one conference with any user in the world. You can use the software to do a conference call with technology devices such as computers, tablets and cell phone devices. The software utilizes audio, video and...

Cons

The only thing I like least about the software is the overlay controls. The controls can get in the way of your recording sometimes. The overlay can be docked near the bottom or the top section of the screen which is helpful.

Zoom Meetings and Chat Review

Reviewed 4 years ago

We've used many different software programs to deliver our monthly webinar content and Zoom has proven to be the best program yet. It's ease of use and interactive functions are far beyond what we've used in the past and it allows us to successfully connect to our management teams monthly to deliver timely updates.

Pros

Zoom has been a great resource for our team when delivering our monthly webinars to our management teams. With over 50 people on each call, Zoom allows us to manage the groups audio and video components, display polls and whiteboards for interaction and monitor the chat box when questions arise. It's intuitive when new employees access webinars or other calls and usually they have no problem connecting and interacting during the sessions. It's been better than other meeting softwares we've used in the past and the interaction functionality has proved to increase audience engagement.

Cons

There are times that the connectivity lags but we never know if it's the software or our own connectivity issues. We do find that it does freeze resulting in some content being shared to be missed or audience members are behind.

Great as long as you have excellent internet

Reviewed 2 months ago

Overall, Zoom is great, as long as you have a very steady and reliable internet connection. Our offices are in a rural area so we have some issues occassionally.

Pros

Zoom has a ton of awesome features that other similar tools do not, such as the simplicity of break out rooms and the ability for government employees to use it.

Cons

The only downfall with Zoom is that even hard wired into our internet connection, sometimes I will lose connection if someone is sharing a video. It's really frustrating.

Virtual meetings with lots of features

Reviewed 5 years ago

As a coach, I did not want to limit my clients to driving distance, nor do I want to keep a dedicated office that I can bring "strangers" into, outside of my home. Zoom not only allows me to meet seamlessly but allows my clients to meet comfortably in their own home (and not have to worry about baby sitters, etc). The ease of use and multi-platform support removes any compatibility worries when setting meetings.

Pros

This software is easy for my clients to set up for a meeting with me virtually. I love that I can share my whole desktop, one window on it, a selected part, or even share the screen of my phone. I've used this to meet on a Mac, PC, iPhone, and iPad. This has options for recording meetings, setting defaults for audio/video, etc. You can do group meetings and allow client(s) to share or control my desktop. One thing I've only used occasionally is assigning a unique meeting ID for each meeting. I just use my standard ID so I can incorporate it into form emails and my scheduling software.

Cons

The free version limits group meetings to 40 min (but it's the free version; I do meet with others who have the paid version and it's great)

Reliable product for online meetings

Reviewed 3 years ago

Having been hit by the pandemic, zoom meetings was our rescue. The ministry of health had given a directive that we maintain social distance and also avoid crowded places. To ensure we observed this directive we resolved to work from home. We were able to meet online and carry out our usual meetings with no problem with the help of zoom meetings. Some of our customers also preferred online meetings since it had cut transportation costs to our offices and saved their travel time. The ability to share screens is so fantastic since everybody in the meeting is able to follow what is being presented. One is able to choose between using audio and video when joining meetings.

Pros

Zoom meetings is easy to use. Integrating zoom meetings in our business was not that problematic to us as users in our organization. Some of the features that we found helpful include: 1. Screen sharing. 2. Recording of meeting proceedings for future reference. 3. Ability of the host to mute all meeting attendees to avoid interruptions during the meeting. 4. Chat section for questions and answers.

Cons

We experienced droppings from the meeting especially when our network connectivity was down and when one has limited storage. Sometimes when one drops from the meeting and maybe there were questions and issues raised in the chat section, when he/she joins back he/she cannot retrieve them.

Saved Our Company

Reviewed 3 years ago

I covered this in the pros section, but overall Zoom has been a pretty stable product to work with. Much better user interface. More novice friendly. Seems less glitchy. As I said before, our proceeds from using Zoom quite literally saved our company from closing during the pandemic.

Pros

Compared to similar products, Zoom was much easier to implement at a higher level. We were able to pivot quickly with the pandemic from solely relying on our teams providing services to being able to take on an educational and consulting role. Zoom was the easiest by far to teach to even the three septuagenarians in the office. We have been using it to teach classes to other companies in our industry, the revenue from which singlehandedly paid several payrolls during the most locked down times of the pandemic.

Cons

While I certainly understand that some compression is necessary to allow it to work on slow connections I do feel that the audio quality is sometimes kinda crummy. Ditto for video quality. I would also love to see integration for external audio processing (VSTs and such) to allow the

ZOOM my Preferred Meeting Application

Reviewed 3 years ago

ZOOM is an every day part of my life. ZOOM is used at my workplace and in my personal life and in my spiritual life.

Pros

ZOOM is easy to use. It is easy to join. It is great to see and hear, as long as everyone is on a strong network system. ZOOM is easy to setup. ZOOM video toggle is easy to use and a much needed function. The chat feature is very good.

Cons

You have to look to hard to find the sharable zoom full information. It is not located in an obvious place on the screen. I do not like the chat box to pop up on my screen every time someone enters information into the chat.

Zoom meetings will continue even after COVID

Reviewed 2 years ago

Zoom meetings have changed the way we do business. And will continue to do business. I don't think we will ever go back to in person meetings in the future, we may do a hybrid of IN person and Zoom, but the majority of our attendees want to stay with Zoom for ever.

Pros

With the start of COVID, our business was forced to cancel all in person meetings. We now use Zoom for all our committee meetings, 5 per month, and Board of Directors meetings, once a month. It has been a game changer for us. no more , " I got stuck at the office or in traffic and could not make the meeting" no more rushing around to get to the meeting location on time,. No more delayed meeting start...

Cons

it would be nice to have a feature that "forces" the participant to enter more information than just a name. We get people putting in slang names and then we have a hard time identifying them. If there was a feature to turn on for "address" it would help us tremendously. We currently have to look up each user in the waiting room in our database to verify they can have access to the meeting.

Zoom is the standard for meetings now

Reviewed 2 years ago

Overall, zoom is wonderful!

Pros

The software is clean, user friendly, and has a wonderful suite of integrations that make meetings seamless and better than ever before. Screen sharing, meeting recording, and webinars/conferences are some of my favorite features. The video and audio quality is consistently better than other competitors. I use Krisp to increase the audio quality of my calls, especially when I'm working in a public/loud place. We also use Otter.ai to record transcripts of the meetings and create easy meeting notes for everyone to view!

Cons

Security and privacy could be a little bit better, but there are also things on the administrator side that can be done to maximize security and privacy in a call. I also wish the chat feature was a little more dynamic. Private messages from one caller to another are not easily seen by the recipient. Notifications would be really appropriate here. Also, if someone comments in the chat something inappropriate, the moderator has no control. The 40 minute time limit for the free accounts is inconvenient, but that's obviously purposeful. The Zoom subscription price point is pretty high, but you're getting a top of the line software.

Excellent program for HR meetings.

Reviewed 2 years ago

My experience has been fantastic, I could say that the costs have gone down with this software, I think that the efficiency has improved and the support has been better in terms of speed of resolving concerns, the recording is light, it can be hosted in the cloud or downloaded , there are always links available and it is easy to share with everyone on the team.

Pros

What I like the most is that it is very easy to find the most used options, enlarge the screen, record, invitation, etc. This speeds up when we are generating a demo with the whole team, which was one of the reasons why we changed it or used it alongside the other software.

Cons

i think the internet connection is not as compatible as the old software we used, we believe it was a failure to install but we can solve it by changing the operational network.

The best tool for conference and group calls

Reviewed 5 years ago

As I said earlier, Zoom is far superior to other tools in the market, even in its free version. We use it in our conference rooms and personal computers, with very good results in all scenarios (demos, support, remote daily meetings, etc.). Very user friendly and works really fast!

Pros

Having many off-shore clients, we use this tool for everything, from simple support calls to full demos. Zoom really shines when you compare it to other tools available in the market; we experience little to no latency in our calls, video or shared screen streaming, which is incredibly valuable when working remotely and convincing clients that this is not a limitation. In my personal experience, I...

Cons

When sharing control of the screen, Zoom does not allow control over applications opened in Administrator Mode, which is almost always when working in dev or UAT environments. The action bar while sharing screen is a bit cluttered, making it hard to find the desired options. Text-chat could stand to be improved; if you end the call, text messages are not saved, so they're lost forever if you forgot to save them beforehand.

Best Conference Call/Virtual Meeting Software Available

Reviewed 5 years ago

Again, the issues I am highlighting are fairly nit picky as Zoom is vastly superior to the previous product we were using (Goto Meeting)

Pros

So lets start by acknowledging that every single professional conference call/virtual meeting software or product has some flaws. None of them offer everything you want without some glitches or issues. That said, I've used countless other products/vendors and can I attest that Zoom is easily the best of its class available on the market. I love that there is a simple Zoom add-on you can download into your personal Outlook to make scheduling meetings incredibly easy. Love that all employees get their own accounts/unique login ID's. I think the mobile app is also a big plus, as I have joined meetings and viewed what others are sharing directly on my phone. The customization options are outstanding.

Cons

Couple of areas for improvement: - It doesn't need to blast super loud "this call is being recorded." That can freak some interviewees out. Consider changing to a visual cue that the call is being recorded (or a more subtle audio cue) - Really wish there was a feature that warned you when you've accidentally scheduled two zoom meetings that overlap (with the same user/login). Could be helpful - The...

Surprisingly Good For Distance Learning

Reviewed 4 years ago

Right now, my company is moving all language classes to Zoom for the foreseeable future until further notice, in order to commit to social distancing during the coronavirus crisis within the Washington, D.C., and New York City metropolitan regions. Although we are still within the first two weeks of transition, it has been a smooth one overall and both teachers and students (as well as company administrators) seem pleased enough in spite of the vast differences between virtual learning and in-person classes.

Pros

There are *so* many features that are amazingly effective for language learning in a virtual classroom. Besides the expected (and helpful) virtual whiteboard and screen sharing available to both me as the teacher and other users as students, there are also Breakout Rooms. This is essential for learning any foreign language; the Breakout Rooms simulate partnered or smaller group activities that are...

Cons

I think almost everything could potentially be improved... It is always harder to conduct a meeting virtually than in real life, especially when that meeting is a *language lesson.* It is the first stages, however, so I and my students will have to adapt over the next few weeks. That said, I am a little frustrated that the host/teacher cannot share a screen view or a whiteboard during the Breakout Rooms. This forces students to share their own screens with each other, and/or have other apps open at the same time. I would like for them to be able to access my lesson slides during their small group/partnered activities, but this doesn't seem to be possible yet with Zoom.

Honest Zoom Review 2021

Reviewed 3 years ago

Zoom in my experience is one of the most complete and the only tool which strive to simulate the real-world meeting experience as well as solving the usual hassle when conducting and planning a meeting. Zoom's video conferencing and online meeting solutions are ideal for organizations of all sizes. Anywhere, we can make high-quality video or audio calls. It's has the best user experience as well as a great user interface design. We may record important meetings using Zoom's recording capability for training, compliance, or historical needs. And in my organization we still have actual recorded zoom trainings which new staff can go and view anytime, thus saving the time, effort and cost for having another training.

Pros

Zoom Meetings is a fantastic audio and video conferencing application. It allows you to connect with several people at once. It lets you to arrange meetings, conduct lessons and lectures, and virtually attend and participate in conferences and seminars straight from your desk. Also, Zoom lets you to feel more at ease at appointments, enhances interactions with possible clients, and allows you to be...

Cons

Most of the features for zoom in my opinion are perfect, the user interface is very user friendly, however, "upon sign on to a meeting you are not connected to the audio and it would be nice to have a built in computer voice with an button which could actually tell the other guy to please turn on his mic. ex: "please turn on voice chat" when pressing a button from my end.

Best Meeting software

Reviewed 2 years ago

It's been great for us. We have over 600 users and 250 are licensed users. Unlicensed users can join any meeting and can host meetings, but they have a 40 minute time limit. It is super easy to switch licenses from one user to another. A huge money saver to not have everyone licensed. As an admin, you can check the portal and see the meeting quality and the participants. Virtual backgrounds can make meetings fun and or more professional. The video and call quality are great. The features are easy for users to understand without support.

Pros

Easy to use. If the other people in the meeting don't have Zoom downloaded, they can just click a link and join a meeting that way. There are great controls for the host of the meeting. You can mute and turn off videos of other users if needed. Super easy to share screens and with a Pro license you can save recordings to the cloud and not take up space on your machine.

Cons

Being able to give control of your screen to another user is a great feature. This is especially helpful when a Mac user needs remote support and traditional ways of remoting in won't work. The only downside is when you are remoted in, you cannot use admin creds. It limits the amount of virtual support you can give.

Best tool for remote work

Reviewed 2 years ago

I have been using zoom meetings since last 3 years now and use it frequently for remote work, online meetings and conferences. The fact that everyone knows about zoom and has the app installed makes it the goto choice for video conferencing and webinars. The fact that it allows sharing system audio makes it unique and very useful for remote work in areas such as video editing etc. You can for eg share your fcp x screen and not just share your video but also fcp x audio.

Pros

The ability to share system audio makes this platform the goto choice for remote work and for online meetings. No other application allows you to share system audio and others only allow sharing browser audio.

Cons

The free version is limited and it simply ends the meeting after 40 mins. Also there is no way to get remote access as allowed in anydesk etc.

In meinen Augen die beste Video Konferenzen Software auf dem Markt

Reviewed 2 years ago

Good paid meeting platform

Reviewed 2 years ago

I have used this for over two years to run online training events and group meet ups. It's mid price cost for the paid subscription which removes the 40 minute time limit.

Pros

I wanted a software where I could run online training events and record parts of the meeting. Zoom allows me to have my main camera and a secondary camera allocated to the same meeting so I can switch between head shots and shots of my desk. One great feature is that you can leave a meeting that you are the organizer of, and allocate a participant as the organizer so that the meeting can continue.

Cons

Whilst I have enjoyed using this platform, I have had issues with less technical minded people trying to access meetings. They have sometimes experienced issues on different tablets or phones. I've occasional issues trying to move from one camera input to another during the meeting. Recording limits for cloud is low for a long meeting so I record direct to my hard drive which is linked to my cloud - giving the same results.

Review of reliable software for online meetings

Reviewed 2 years ago

Holding multiple meetings in person came to an end when COVID struck and shelter-in-place became the standard. This has a tremendous influence on churches' capacity to serve their congregations. Numerous groups who routinely convened were no longer able to do so. Although Zoom offered features that Google Meets did not initially offer or whose implementation was not as effective, we as a non-profit using Google were still allowed to use Google Meets. For some of our groups, the breakout sessions were one of the most beneficial aspects. Although third-party developers offered some solutions at the time, they weren't as user-friendly as Zoom's in-house designed solution.

Pros

reliable technology It seems secure. integrates with the calendar in Outlook. best control and resolution for virtual backgrounds (if using a green screen). excellent recording capability. Chat and other meeting features operate effectively. With Zoom, mediators may now perform all of the tasks they previously had to perform with the parties in person at their office, such as having a waiting area, holding both public and private meetings, and transferring any type of information (documents, images, videos). Excellent video quality and an easy-to-use UI are both features of Zoom. I like how it operates smoothly and never has any glitches, unlike other platforms that "seem" or are "marketed as" being similar.

Cons

Installing the Zoom app on your laptop was necessary for Zoom to be truly useful for presenters (windows or mac). Since Google Meets was entirely browser-based, presenters weren't necessary. Additionally, more recent capabilities at the time (such as selecting a virtual background) required a computer with a processor that was more recent. My processor was one year older than what was supported, which wasn't a problem with Google Meets, therefore I couldn't use this service. Zoom doesn't make it simple to simply join a conference using a browser when you first click on a link to do so. The pop-up window is designed to "promote" or "present" opening the zoom app as the preferred method. It should be simpler for attendees to use a web browser to just view a meeting.

A Review about Zoom Meetings of a University Student taking up an Education Course

Reviewed 2 years ago

Zoom Meetings has a lot of feature that is useful for the teaching-learning process especially now that we must undergo emergency remote learning such as two way audio and video, screensharing, chat box, screen recording, and etc. It also has features that is useful for presentation such as annotation and whiteboard. It is also data-saver as everyone has the opportunity to choose whether the camera will be HD or original. However, screensharing will not allow the sharer to see the audiences. Overall, I still use it and recommend it to my friends.

Pros

What I like the most about Zoom Meetings is that it has the most basic features that a video conferencing application must have which includes: two way audio and video, screensharing, chat box, screen recording, and some features that is useful for presentation such as annotation and whiteboard. It is also my favorite of having the choice whether the camera will be HD or original which is useful when saving data bandwidth. Also, since we do demo lessons and reporting because I am an education student, having this app a built-in feature of noise cancellation is very useful so that listeners will not be distracted.

Cons

What I think I like the least about this software and I usually find annoying is that I am not able to see my audience when I am presenting my screen. It makes me feel like I am not connected to them because I can't see their reactions especially whenever I am presenting. Also, I find myself lost whenever there is someone asking and I can't even look in their name so I can't acknowledge them and I have to ask their name first. This is my concern and I am not sure if Zoom really does not have this feature, or they have but I can't only find it.

For my online class, the Zoom interface is really straightforward and easy to use.

Reviewed 2 years ago

Audio signatures and passwords can be used to protect my privacy. I can also lock a meeting as a host to prevent people who haven't yet joined from joining.

Pros

I can get closed captions with Zoom by integrating third-party solutions to make sure the feature works. Zoom is a video and audio conferencing platform that allows users to record meetings. Zoom allows 100 or more people to participate in a video call. The app's gallery view allows for up to 49 players to be displayed on one screen. However, if I wish to add more users, the program enables for up to 500 persons to be added. A password, such as SAML, OAuth, or 2FA, can be used to verify your Zoom account. 256-bit TLS encryption protects your video meetings and chats using this app. To safeguard my connection, I can utilize AES-256 encryption or end-to-end encryption. Furthermore, Zoom's whiteboard features allow users to doodle on many slides and screens.

Cons

Zoom does not support emojis, but it does support GIFs. Admins can turn on and off this video conferencing tool. The free bundle of Zoom virtual conferencing is limited. It can make an unlimited number of calls that are limited to 40 minutes in length. If I upgrade to a pro account, however, the time limit is extended to 24 hours. Free users can only save up to 1GB of recordings on their PCs, whereas all paid plans allow for cloud storage. There is currently no support for HD video.

The Remote Working Solution

Reviewed 2 years ago

Generally Zoom has been a life saver especially for the kind of work I do. I mostly work in remote areas and so its capability to work sufficiently even in areas with poor network is the reason it is my go to app for personal and work related remote meetings. It is comparatively easy to use and join meetings since it does not have tedious sign up and log in requirements.

Pros

What I like most about zoom is over time they have made useful updates to make remote working and online meetings more efficient. The real time screen sharing option has been helpful in teaching and sharing notes and also the fact that you can share your screen and still see participants. My favorite feature about zoom is that it still works relatively well in poor connections as is prone in third world countries like mine. Other updates like the ability of the host being able to mute noisy participants has also been helpful. Zoom has made connecting with workmates, friends and family easier. It is also easy to use and has so many features to easen interactions in this crazy times.

Cons

I still wish the time limit for the free version of zoom be longer than the 1 hour 40 minutes but something free it is still quite sufficient.
