the overall experience with excel cannot be described in one word or in one sentence. I have recommend all my friends to use the excel in their daily routine. Excel is a part of my daily work and it had simplified all my works.
I have been using the excel for the past 20 years and the most excel features i use on my daily routine are the pivot table, vlook functions, graphs, calculations and it keeps on going. all the monthly salary calculations, deductions, are all compiled into one sheet and its very easy to share the files with password protection facility. i have purchased both home office 365 and for business. very compatible with the microsoft teams. Another feature of excel is the low
everything in excel is very easy to learn, but only while using Macro and Micro features, i had found a little bit of difficulties. but using the help button itself, the same can be resolved within few minutes. the total features in excel in overwhelming and i feel like that i have been using only less than 20% of the total features of excel.

For the money, it is an overall excellent performer that has never gotten stuck....bug free. It can handle large lists of numbers quite well (up to 1,048,576 rows or 16,384 columns). Obviously, if you need to do data exploration like a Data Scientist on tens of millions of rows then you'd want to look at a different tool. The main target audience is general business. I've used Excel on the job since the mid 1980's.
Sometimes you might need to record your business travel related expenses and time, to get reimbursed, but you don't have expensive software to track it online. Other times, you might want a quick chart, to explain a trend in some transaction data being measured. Yet other times, you might want to collaborate, to allow other users to update a spreadsheet in real-time without waiting for one user to...
I would like to see more flexibility to specify different types of curved line charts, bordering on the scientific. At times, making changes is less intuitive, such as when plotting multiple lines on the same chart with a moving average line, and with the kind of intervals and tick mark labels you want. If it just did a little more then I wouldn't need to export the data to something else (like Python) to do it the hard way.

I live in and writing this review from Hungary, yet I am sure in other nations as well, MS Excel and Office tools are the leaders, but not the only sw. used to deal with a table file, in Hungary we do not even call them "documents", "table files", simply refer to them as "Excel" that is how big impact this program has made on our life. MS Excel is on the market around for nearly 40 years, one of the most widely-can-be-used sw. on the market and I think is the best. Happy to have it, personally I am utilizing Office kit from my elementary school days and will in the future. Yes, there are some rivals to MS Excel, yet it is still the uncrown king. You may give a try to its rivals, there are free and paid versions too, so as online version are available.
Tons of educational stuff, examples, tricks, cheat sheets, "homework" like tasks are available. You may get it for free, if you are a student, genuine activation keys for a nominal price can be found in the net, yet can be used with a Microsoft account for free (limitations, less feature are obviously there), with great functionality. MS Excel is widely-known I reckon in the planet and used by...

I have been using Microsoft Excel for the last 10 years, and this software has never ceased to amaze me by the amount of features it has packed into it. I started using it as a student when completing my Civil Engineering degree, then used it even more when I was working as a structural engineer, used it again when doing my masters and using it even now when working as an engineer again - on a daily...
I have been using the software for over a decade and I have come to just love the following features. 1. Formulas - You can find over 100s of formulas to apply within the software, to give you the necessary output. They have been conveniently sorted into groups like Logical, Text, Lookup, Math & Trigonometry. I have come to use the HLOOKUP, VLOOKUP, MATCH, INDEX, the Logical formulas and the trigonometry...
There is hardly anything that I would criticize about the software. Since even today I am still understanding the load of features and functions it has to offer. However, if I talk about the thing I like the least is how the formulas are presented. Since I am structural engineer I have to present design calculations, and I use PTC Mathcad and Microsoft Excel interchangeably based on my need. Mathcad...

While Microsoft Excel has been getting more expensive over the years, especially in comparison to its free competitors, it remains the most powerful, most prestigious spreadsheet tool out there. Especially for larger, more formal clients, the ability to share cross-device-compatible spreadsheets with a standardized level of quality and compatibility is a huge plus. However, because of the cost, I am looking to move away from the program.
Microsoft Excel is the absolute golden standard of spreadsheet software. It has every functionality I have ever needed, and then some! Every other software that is for similar usage tries to emulate this one. It is usable on every device, online and offline, and is fantastic for all of my business and personal needs.
Out of all of the software programs that focus on spreadsheet functions, Microsoft Excel is absolutely the highest priced. Because of that, I have been using it less and less and recommend that my budget-conscious colleagues save money and go with a free alternative that has fewer features but does everything they need. For the most part, Microsoft Excel is a way more powerful tool than I need for everyday use, so it seems to be a waste to pay that much for the possibility of using those special functions rather than for their actual use.

Regarding this advanced management tool, I admit that it allows to manage the IT flows of the different transactions within an organization, it was able to revolutionize initially the industrial world as well as develop the Supply Chain Management of different companies. Personally, I was able to carry out initially several management tables whether for the stock, for the vehicle fleets (maintenance, fuel ... etc). And then I started to realize optimization models based on Operational Research. And finally, I ended up using the developer section (Visual Basic) in order to be able to automate the various tables produced, keep the flow traceable as well as avoid the typing errors that can happen.
In my opinion, there are 3 main advantages for excel users: 1)Progressed Data Organization : Dominate has quite possibly the absolute most complete datum association and investigation frameworks for the normal customer. All things considered, it works for most business applications as well. Utilizing the force of your PC, Excel can undoubtedly deal with a great many information recipes and additionally...
Despite these advantages, there are 3 major desadvantages 1)Steep Expectation to learn and adapt : Excel is a genuinely muddled framework. To utilize it productively, you must have the option to explore through the UI which is considerably more convoluted than in its unique plan. In past plans, clients had the option to simply point and click and assembled lovely bookkeeping pages. In any case, Microsoft...

In business, I use Excel for so many things - lists of orders, invoicing, purchase orders, tracking information, all kinds of nightly reports that get sent to customers for their use. In my personal life, besides the afore-mentioned medication listings,I use excel for tracking expenses, banking information, investments, calorie counts, purchases I've made, books I've read, gifts I've sent, the list goes on and on. Basically, any data I want to organize goes into a spreadsheet.
Once you learn how to use it, and get comfortable with the features, you find a million reason to use it. Most recently I set up spreadsheets for husband's medications. He takes quite a few, and keeping track of the names/dosages/price paid/next refill date, etc., was a burden on him. I did the initial set up for him, taught him a few "tricks" and now he maintains that information himself. He will...
My only concerns with Excel have to do with some things that it considers to be "features" that I call annoyances. Like assuming I want long numerical data to be converted to scientific expression. Or assuming I want leading 0's to be dropped. I know Excel is trying to be helpful but there's a lot of data out there that does not conform to how it thinks data should be. As as result, I'm always...

I have used Excel for over 20 years and I have not even scratched the surface of what can be done with it. It can do so many things when you need to make calculations, spreadsheets or do something with accounting. I love it and really for me a numbers guy I think it is fun.
It is so versatile. I use it instead of Calculator as I can easily see what I am calculating. I have made a simple payroll system with it and have used it for many weekly tax calculations. Calculating using fields from other pages is fantastic. Really anything you need to do with accounting can be done with it.
Two things if you don't have it free with your computer then you have to buy it and it can be kind of expensive and if you want to be able to collaborate and make on the fly changes with others then you need office 365 and you have to pay monthly you can never own it.

We use MS Excel for keeping daily records, task tracking, and creating reports for our projects. It gives an edge when we have large data calculations to perform to get feasibility reports for upcoming projects.
I have been using Microsoft Excel for over 20 years, it has made my work life much smoother with its countless abilities to perform various complex tasks for analysis, tracking, graphical representation, and record keeping. - Although it is a part of MS Office Suite, I would personally like a standalone Excel Software to save the extra cost and drive space consumed by the whole MS Office suite. - It is a nuisance when I copy tables and charts from other office suites such as Google Sheets, a pasted data looks distorted and loses formulas and formatting, and requires redo efforts for correction, which wastes a lot of time. - The formulas and syntax have complex programming structures, even though the Help provides some information, but to learn the complexity of formulas and syntax, one has to take special tutorials and classes to learn more about the advanced MS Excel.

Most time in regular using excel is very good in hand. And it is compatible with all other Microsoft family software, so it's output data can be directly used in other related software tools, like chart, grids, files and data sources. For usually using excel tool is enough for different users in many fields, such as student, science researching, accounting, financial calculation, engineering data analysis or event programmer developing software on it.
1. it's formula function totally replaced my calculator tool or similar ones. 2. convenient cell operation for formula propagate or serial copying 3. if error occurs in the formula in cell, it is easy to check each step's result to find the root cause. 4. powerful online help for current operation focus as formula, operation, variable change, parameter usage, etc. 5. Macro recording function make dummy user can repeat the operation in huge data. 6. More flexible VBA scripts support make it possible build a easy trigger and running tool software. 7 widely used drawing function make it show more fabulous graphic with text to explain the data. 9, powerful statistic data visualization function make it easy to show the data in many axis
1. sometime there is interruption and without saving the latest version or recover the latest version in time. 2. free trail is limited time frame. 3. can not get password recovered in the excel file if you lost your password to open it. 4. when frequently processing huge data like more than 1 million rows, the file size will be increase much more, and it is not decrease right after you delete these huge data. 5. auto transfer from outside data source is not efficient, like convert txt data to excel cells, more than 1 million row will cost a lot of time to converting.

It's a very powerful program and it helps me to create any kind of spreadsheets and use different kinds of formats and formulas. Honestly, I love Excel. The truth is, once you unlock the various features there is very little you can't do. For fun I've created a dynamic resume', a slide presentation and even a couple of games inside Excel just to see if I could.
Excel's greatest value is its ability to be many things for many people. I would say 90% of the people I've seen use Excel only use about 10% of its capabilities, and it's great for that. People are making quick budgets, schedules, to-do lists and even recipes books with excel and don't need many "pro" features for that. Then there are the people who use it for contact management and data-processing, I've even seen an Excel instance that used extensive scripting to handle CRM, inventory and mail-merge marketing. I don't suggest it, but if you really want to get into it, it's very possible. I'd say the greatest advantage of using Excel is that it's the industry standard for spreadsheets. If send someone an excel sheet you can bet that they will have a way to open it.
For cons, it does annoy me a bit that the Mac version isn't nearly as good as the Windows version. It's not surprising, of course, but it is annoying. I use Excel on different platforms and operating systems and the difference is striking. Also, if you do plan on getting in the weeds with excel for business intelligence and data processing, you can literally spend years studying ti and getting proficient with the all of the capabilities. And finally, it can be a huge processor hog and slow down everything else on your computer if you aren't careful. Even a simple spreadsheet with a simple formula involving whole columns can suddenly bring a stop to your workday.

Excel has been fantastic to me since I first started using it as a student in middle school. Since then, I've slowly started developing my skills with it - functions, pivot tables, power query, macros, VBA - and it has paid off immensely for my career. Though I use other programming languages quite often, Excel compliments them quite well and knowing that 99% of the organizations use Excel, I know that it's a software worth investing in.
Any organization you work for will always be using Excel, which makes having Excel skills somewhat mandatory. The good part is that Excel is so easy to use and learn. I've been using Excel in a professional setting for over 5 years now and I'm always blown away by how much capabilities it has. I like that Excel has VBA, a programming language for Microsoft Office products because it allows me to automate and streamline so much of my work. Other than that, the customization, ability to handle files, and security makes Excel a fantastic software.
As with any software, there is a learning curve. With Excel, the more you use, the steeper the curve gets because you will learn just how much functions and capabilities it has to offer. This, however, is a good thing because once you get used to it, you'll become an "Excel wizard" and will always be in demand. If there is one flaw to Excel, its that you can't collaborate in real time (unless you...

As an Operations Manager of a small company I wear many hats in what I do on a day to day basis (Accountant, CFO, COO, Projects Manager, etc). I use excel to analyze financial data, create/monitor projects, oversee day to day operations, and many more tasks. I wouldn't be able to do my job without Excel and would highly recommend that every organization take advantage of what this software has to offer.
This software is absolutely essential to my job on a day to day basis. The amount of functionality this software has is incredible (far superior to other products on the market). What I love most about this software is the way you can take raw data and create a formula, algorithm, graph, chart, etc that can tell a very detailed story. As an operations manager of a small company I have to wear many hats and all of my projects typically begin and end with Excel. Even though this product is more expensive to other free alternatives on the market, I would still consider Excel a must-have within any organization.
The price can be a determining factor for some people given there are free alternatives on the market today, but I would still recommend getting Excel because in the end you are getting more than what you pay for. There is a bit of a learning curve when it comes to using this software but there are numerous amounts of instructional videos online on how to use some of the complicated formulas this software is capable of. However, with a little bit of practice you will be able to interpret raw data with ease.

Excel is the most successful application to make either an inventory, transfer diverse costs, or even take total account of the companies' capability of production. It is outstanding the way Excel can transfer the cost of many producing products into one whole total cost.
Excel is an application worth for the usage of producing businesses. The features Excel provides, makes easier the way you take accountability forwarding determined business. It is essential to take a tutorial in order to learn from every feature corresponding the application. Microsoft has made available updates to fix any bug from the app, becoming successful and total security on behalf of Microsoft.
Excel barely has any disability, nevertheless, Microsoft could provide a directed tutorial in which techniques to manage certain features should be presented in a more user friendly way. Many times you may struggle to find certain features, but eventually by making use of the app it will be easier. Unfortunately, Excel does not have a feature to share a document in which changes for third parties would change your document as-well. This way, companies who use this application may find easier for workers to communicate and be more productive.

I use Excel daily for my job. Over the last year as I have learned things like vlookup, pivot tables, and how to set up various formulas, it has gone from a spreadsheet program to a powerful tool.
For basic tasks this product is intuitive and very easy to use. Easy to learn formulas and simple mathematical equations can turn this basic product into a very powerful tool. You can quickly and easily find the sum or difference between two values. You can find duplicates values in a column or row. You can color code cells, columns, or rows. Excel includes most of the basic text formatting features that Word contains as well. Learning vlookup has changed my life. Learning Pivot Tables has also been a great help.
There can be a learning curve for some of the more advanced features, such as Pivot Tables or VLookup; having someone around who can help you get started can be very helpful. You have to consider the cost when compared to similar, free products such as Google Sheets. Google Sheets does is not quite as robust but it is free and contains most of the basic functionality as Excel.

I don't think there is something which to describe as cons. Even though I think this product can be used for data managing for not so big purposes. Of course, this product is for end-users and not programmers, so in that manner, I think it is quite useful because you can save, manipulate and show your data with charts in an intuitive way and without any knowledge of programming.

Microsoft Excel does so much it can seem overwhelming and intimidating. The key is to just use it for what you need, but if you do need a complex formula, Excel can do it. The program itself has a good help menu and there is plenty of online help. There are amply online forums and you can also contact Microsoft itself for answers. Using Excel is a great experience. There is a lot that can be done and it can be used to solve a variety of problems from making a guest list for an industry conference to analyzing data to displaying detailed graphics. The interface of Excel is simple yet compact, there are shortcuts for many of the most commonly used functions that frequent Excel users with memorize without even trying. The formulas in Excels are easy to work with and can be learned by individuals who do not have technical backgrounds.
Over the years the variety of tasks that can be accomplished in Excel has increased drastically. Excel integrates well with the other products in the Microsoft Office Suite doing things such as including Excel spreadsheets and graphs in Powerpoint presentations or embedding them in Word documents. The amount of data that can be analysed in Excel is amazing, a workbook can handle over a million rows and over sixteen thousand columns. The goal seek function is really useful for solving algebraic problems. Data can be displayed concisely with the sparklines. Graphics can be brought to life with conditional formatting to be made presentation ready.
There are a few downsides with Excel, many of the issues are related to workbooks becoming too large and being difficult to use. When a file gets over thirty megabytes it is prone to freezing or crashing when computationally expensive operations are being performed. The workbooks will sometimes stop responding and Excel will have to force quit and recover the workbooks that were open. Reopening, recovering, and saving the files is a painful interruption that may take several minutes. There are precautions that can be taken to avoid this such as turning calculations off, saving the workbook regularly, and closing out of unneeded workbooks.

Very Good application as a whole. It does what i want it do and what it was designed to be used for.
If you are familiar with any other Microsoft software such as Word Or PowerPoint for example then it is certain you will immediately understand the way the interface has been designed, which is very user friendly. I believe that anybody can learn how to use excel because of how simplistic the design is and also because there is even a function button that tells you exactly what you can use to perform a certain action using excel where it even simply gives you the option to search using words what it is you want to do. For e.g if you searched 'plus' or 'add' excel will present you with a function that you can use to add the value of two or more cells together,
There are not many cons to excel as i feel it is a software that has been designed to do exactly what is expected if it without any issues but if i were to mention a few cons it would be things that do not really have a negative effect on the application has a whole but rather just aspects that could have been improved on.
