If the company and/or manager truly invests in reading and responding to each 15:5 report, the improvement in team focus is measurable.
The price plans of 15Five are also reasonable. I personally like the software very much.

Unleashing the Power of 15five

Reviewed a year ago

15Five is a powerful and effective performance management tool that can streamline the evaluation process and provide valuable insights into employee performance. However, its high cost and limited integration capabilities may make it less suitable for some organizations.

Pros

The software has a user-friendly interface that makes it easy to set up and manage performance evaluations. It provides real-time data and insights into employee performance, allowing managers to make informed decisions about employee development. The software is highly customizable and can be adapted to meet the specific needs of different organizations. It encourages collaboration between employees and managers, promoting open communication and continuous feedback.

Cons

There is a learning curve involved in getting the most out of the software, and it may take some time to master all of its features. The software may not integrate with other tools that organizations are already using, making it less convenient for some users. It is a premium software and may not be affordable for smaller organizations or businesses with limited budgets.

15Five - User, Reporting & Management Perspectives

Reviewed 4 years ago

User: A quick and easy way to provide feedback to management. Reporting: Easy to generate reports that clearly show how staff are feeling, and who is making a difference for other staff. Management: Productivity is linked to how staff are feeling, and 15Five quickly and regularly captures this information. This allows us to address any issues before they become a big problem and cost us too much in lost productivity. Also finding time to sit down with every staff member every week to get their feedback is nearly impossible. 15Five solves this problem by being online and therefore able to be completed and reviewed from anywhere and at any time.

Pros

User: A great tool for giving a quick update on my tasks and projects at the end of each week. Its like a log of my activity, challenges, decisions and outcomes. It is also a good place to raise any concerns & issues. Being online means I can complete my weekly update from anywhere, and at any time. Reporting: The API is brilliant. We have used the API to generate our own reports for senior management...

Cons

User: The software is very good at 'one-on-one' feedback, but most of us work as part of a team and this is perhaps one area that 15Five could develop further. Reporting: Would be useful to have Tags that we can assign for tasks and projects so that we can link them with our timesheet software to capture effort etc. Management: Would be useful to have sentiment analysis for comments on tasks and projects so that we could quickly identify strongly negative and positive comments.

15Five takes more than 15five to complete!

Reviewed 8 years ago

I absoluately love the concept of 15five. In my head it sounds great - you update your manager, takes 15 minutes of your time, your manager can comment and you can always be synced! It definitely provides another channel of communication with your manager which is very useful. My manager and I would use it guide our 1:1 meetings by creating a list of topics we want to discuss which was good. I...

Vendor response

Shivani! Wow so grateful for the review. Thanks for your candid feedback. I totally hear where you are coming from on the "time suck". We've come have some new features to help address these issues: -First let's look at deactivating repetitive questions. That will cut down on the time it takes to fill out your 15Five. Click the little pencil icon next to the duplicate question and click "deactivate"....

Unique tool for keeping a pulse on employee engagement

Reviewed 5 years ago

Good experience and am interested to see where they go from here.

Pros

The many different ways you can nudge employees to enjoy and benefit from working together. From giving high fives to anyone in the company, to the weekly check on how employees are feeling, to asking targeted questions, all of these help to figure out how my team is doing and feeling. To make things even easier, we wrote an integration with Slack to make it even easier to give high fives. High fives are a nice way of encouraging team members to help each other, we tabulate all the high fives collected and distribute prizes accordingly. The 1 on 1 planning feature was also useful, it helped to focus the 1 on 1 conversation into a way of measure progress against key OKRs.

Cons

While 15five works well for specific use cases, it would be better served as part of a total HR solution. In the end, we found that the pricing was too expensive as our organization grew and budgets got tighter. It doesn't handle any core HR functions so it was hard to justify. I would love to see it become more integrated and attached with broader HR solutions.

15Five completely changed the way we lead our team

Reviewed 8 years ago

I signed my team up for 15Five some time ago, hoping that this software would somehow tell me the questions I needed to ask to help them grow. When we first started our journey, the suggested questions quickly ran out, though! This was actually a great thing, as I could see the potential value, but now I needed to develop my own questions. This has been a MASSIVE recognition - software can't tell me...

Pros

- It's easy to use week-to-week and serves are our "meeting space" - The use of "repeatable questions" has allowed my team to evolve from conventional performance management solutions to an ongoing discussion of each associates performance - The visuals in the Dashboards allow me to display to the rest of the organization how my team is trending and continues to get the chatter going with other teams who don't (yet) use 15Five - The OKR feature allows us to coach our team on ensuring that they are trending well towards both their professional and personal goals

Cons

- I still struggle with the Question Queue, but have developed my own work-around to deal with that - I wish that associates were not allowed to see other responses before submitting their own each week. There are some on my team that seem to look at other responses before submitting their own - Associates should not be able to submit their responses before a pre-set date. My team is supposed to submit on Monday mornings. We are trying to drive a culture of reflection on Monday's before starting the week, but often they submit early (like on the weekend) - which has caused issues of them submitting before new questions rolled in.

Why you need to consider 15Five

Reviewed 6 years ago

I've worked for companies that had millions of dollars in revenue and companies that boasted many billions in revenue and both size orgs and every others that fall somewhere in between could find value in implementing this tool. The key is to use it consistently and be willing to objectively accept, analyze and use the data that is returned.

Pros

I'm in the 30th year of my working life and career and have been fortunate to have seen a lot tools that center around the human resources arena. There are a lot of good ones out there and I've used many of them with success. But there is something different about 15Five. This tool gives you the right-size touch points to measure your team's temperature all along the way. Too many companies rely...

Cons

Perhaps a few more analytics for managers to check into but nothing that takes away from the overall value of the tool.

Best Employee Engagement Software

Reviewed 2 years ago

I my opinion its an excellent employee engagement software. It includes all the relevant functions and features that a employee engagement software should have. Like- 360 feedback, performance review management, one on one meetings, etc... The price plans of 15Five are also reasonable. I personally like the software very much.

Pros

Few things I like most in the software is ... Its easy to use. It provides Mobile control, I can use the services by my smartphone also. One on one meetings. Foster productivity and communication. And the most helpful and intresting feature I like is , it provides customisable templates.

Cons

Few things that the software should improve ... It sends to much emails. Which is actually very distracting and irritating. The software should include more features at management level

You Don't Know You Need It. But You Do.

Reviewed 2 years ago

15Five has been a benefit to the culture of our team and leadership development. However, because of the cost, we frequently find ourselves asking if it is still worth it.

Pros

15Five is a compelling tool that bundles individual performance measurement assessment with team-wide positive feedback. It makes it easier to build healthy rhythms and checkpoints into the culture of your team.

Cons

15Five is on the expensive side, especially when you consider how many organizations are now repurposing free or low-cost project management software to measure employee performance.

Simple to use and only requires 10-15 minutes of your time each week

Reviewed 7 years ago
Pros

The company I work for just started using 15five about a week ago and I already feel like my individual voice has grown in value. My supervisor now has a record of my thoughts, goals, challenges, and aspirations on a weekly basis rather than taking notes from a 1-on-1 meeting. While I do work with Trello for task management, 15five also provides easier at-a-glance information for both myself and supervisor to see and understand the work I do each week. Sometimes the work I do does not have immediate value or impact, but that does not make it valueless or impactless. Having it documented for my supervisor to see also helps me feel more relaxed about whether or not I am accomplishing "enough" each week.

Cons

One of the things I've noticed as I used it this week is that its more of a "pick up and use once for the week" type of software; at least on the side of the reviewee. The reviewer, I imagine, would spend more time reviewer their direct's reviews than the reviewee's spend time creating their reviews. This is not problematic per se, but it does decrease the products effective "stickiness." Said another way, I really would only spend about 10-15 minutes a week using the product to receive the highest benefit from it possible. Any time after that reaps zero extra benefit as all value has already been had. In some ways, this could be seen as a PRO as I imagine that managers would rather employees spend more time working than writing reviews.

Great tool for connecting with your team.

Reviewed 4 years ago

Overall, for a weekly check-in tool, it is great and easy to use. I think it is very basic which makes adoption easy but I am not sure how complex it could get.

Pros

I LOVE high - fives. Our company uses them religiously and shares them with everyone each week so it is a great way to say job well done! I also like the ability to share goals and log progress with my manager and express feedback that may not have been discussed during one on ones.

Cons

The questions asked each week are sometimes really general with nothing to really add value by answering. The review process is also pretty basic, but not sure if this is just how our company uses it.

I use this platform at least once a week and I must say it's a great way to keep people connected.

Reviewed 7 years ago

Connection with people that you would typically not be able to communicate with being that there is no department cross over or something of this nature. A simple way to stay connected to your management as well, while also helping to survey the company constantly so management can find problems in training or managers that are making employees quit.

Pros

The ability for management to take a temperature check of how the team is doing and or feeling is really valuable. (I do not know what the cost of this software is however) It also helps people high five each other when ever they want to give their friends/co-workers a simple & quick compliment which is really good for building comradery.

Cons

I think that if it is a mandatory tool to use every day it can become more of a annoying tool rather than a helpful one. Once or twice a week will suffice.

Easy and Quick Way to Sync with Team or Manager

Reviewed 5 years ago
Pros

It really stays true to the time management value prop of this product. It takes me 5 minutes to fill out, and 15 minutes ffor my manager to review and give feedback. I always dreaded writing status reports or having a long call to review my activities. 15Five made it simplier to gather my thoughts and I breeze through my weekly status. I love you can change questions every week and tag other users within feedback.

Cons

Better way to manage issue that are prevalent throughout the team from the manager perspective. If the manager could create their own tags or labels, so that they show their boss over time that this issue appears throughout multiple team members and/or throughout multiple weeks.

15Five is a great tool for establishing employee connection, feedback and appraisal.

Reviewed a year ago

15Five was a great tool to leverage in establishing employee communication and reviews. The tool served its purpose to a huge value and ensured that the investment on the tool was worth it.

Pros

15Five helped us with establishing employee's connection not only during virtual period of work but also during physical work hours. The periodic inputs and feedback on 15Five enable the key areas of focus and the next immediate steps to be done by the employee. There are auto notifications when there is any update on it to the linked email.

Cons

At times, there is no clarity on the update made and a bit tough to locate the exact area.

Helps to cultivate a habit of sharing and receiving feedback

Reviewed 8 years ago

Most of the prevailing performance appraisal methods are designed for the earlier way of working, non existing jobs, and most importantly not for the Millennials. So what else we can do? This is a question many forward looking companies must be asking and the answer is 15 Five. When somebody is not performing, we need not wait for a quarter or a half year or a year to find that the employee is not performing and to arrive at a conclusion that he/she require improvement. Real time feedback is what we require to improve the performance of any employee. 15 Five is really helpful to solve this problem and recommend for any organisation with a will to keep their people happy, productive, stay relevant in their business.

Pros

Easy to use No training is required to begin using Simple on-boarding Effective reminders Once again overall UX is great

Cons

Nothing much, May be pricing would be a concern for some emerging economies like India Other language support also can be a concern

Best Purchase, Added Value

Reviewed 6 years ago

Cross team recognition grew organically with the HighFives. Leadership did not ask or really highlight this feature initially and employees started actively giving HighFive to each other. The weekly 15Five has eased communication by providing regular check in's. Personally the pulse check is such a quick gauge into how someone is feeling and managers can touch base if they are having a tough week or celebrate an awesome week. We just launched our first review process for the company using BestSelf Review!

Pros

Ease of use as well as the support/help articles.

Cons

Can't really think of something. Initially I believe you could not have different owners for key results, but you can now and we love it!

Great value

Reviewed 5 years ago

Wonderful tool--very user friendly to the admin and employees. Has been a huge help to me as I work with specific audiences to change behaviors or perspectives. The analytics are well presented, and create a compelling story. It provides clarity as to where we need to focus our efforts. The team at Emplify cares about our success and continues to offer valuable insight as we navigate significant change within our organization.

Pros

User friendly, strong analytics and most importantly, I receive strong objective support from our Emplify advocate on next steps following each survey.

Cons

It can be a little challenging to not have a full view of prior surveys in the portal. You can see the progression of the results, but not a full dive into the old surveys. This would be helpful to new executives and managers coming on board.

Good feedback and recognition tool

Reviewed 3 years ago

We've been using 15Five for a long time, and its become our main feedback and recognition tool. Overall we get good value from it.

Pros

It provides a lot of value in terms of getting the pulse of our teams, and it helps with keeping team members consistent in giving feedback. Its notes and 1:1 features also are helpful for creating talking points. The kudos feature, integrated with our Slack is also widely used and it has become one of our main recognition tools .

Cons

Some links from email reminders don't work as expected and internal navigation is perhaps not as intuitive as it could be.

Easy to manage projects using this software

Reviewed 4 years ago

Overall, it has been a good experience. Its easy to use and requires little onboarding.

Pros

Really easy to use and keeps everyone on track. Helps with time management and managing people. Great tools within the system to recognize people. Doesn't require a whole lot of training.

Cons

This software doesn't have many recognition features. There are few tools for employee recognition but not many. Also the price is a bit high for a system. I wouldn't recommend for smaller businesses.

Vendor response

Hi Arwa, Thanks for sharing your feedback. I'm glad you find 15Five so easy to use! Please note that we do offer High Fives in 15Five, a feature that allows you to recognize others in your organization for something awesome they've done. Employee engagement is at the heart of company culture

Reviewed 2 years ago
Pros

Great way to monitor the pulse of my team and the company. 15Five enables better 1 on 1s, company engagement (via kudos), and a refreshing change to performance management. 15five really pushes a better way of doing proactive performance monitoring. The engagement scores are a great insight into how the team is doing overall. OKR and goal setting are easier than ever.

Cons

SSO is only available starting in the $8/month pricing plan which is harder for companies with smaller budgets. There are also two $8 plans (perform and focus) which oddly bifurcates the product features.

Morale = boosted, relationships = strengthened

Reviewed 7 years ago
Pros

It's a simple concept, right? But after using 15five for just over a year, the value we've seen from it has been incredible. The thing we love most as a company is how it's increased transparency within our company. Ever week we get a fun, simple questionnaire to fill out that fosters that connection and transparency with our managers. The given, simplified opportunity to let your manager know how you're feeling is something a lot of companies'especially large ones'don't get. This tool alleviates that problem. Plus, customized questions give that personal touch.

Reviewed 5 years ago

Overall, this keeps my team communicating what our weekly goals are, how we are doing throughout the week, and if we need help from others. Weekly i also find myself exploring how great some of my teammates are doing by watching for "High Fives" from their other coworkers.

Pros

The ease of use it the best part of the software. It is easily implemented into my already busy weeks. We find value in the radical candor we can have in this platform.

Cons

Honestly, it is hard to find dislikes. If I were to be extremely nit picky however, I would say that some of the navigation to find new features or some of your past comments is difficult.
