User opinions about Shopify price and value

Value for money rating:

Of 172 reviews that provide robust commentary on Shopify's price and value, 49% mention it in a positive light.

Some reviewers feel that Shopify offers good value for money due to its range of features and tools that facilitate the creation and management of online stores. They appreciate the free trial period, affordable starting costs, and the ability to upgrade plans as their business grows. Users think the platform's ease of use, extensive app store, and customer support justify the cost. Some users report that Shopify's pricing is reasonable compared to other ecommerce solutions, especially for small businesses and startups.

However, some reviewers find Shopify to be expensive, particularly when considering the costs of additional apps, transaction fees, and higher-tier plans. They indicate that the need for third-party apps to access essential features can significantly increase monthly expenses. Some users say that the basic plan is limited in features, and the jump to premium plans is substantial. Reviewers also mention that transaction fees for using third-party payment processors can add up, impacting profitability. Some users report that the platform's costs can be a burden for new or small businesses with limited budgets.

“During the pandemic, I tried using it as an online store and it has free trial days, after which you can choose between 3 different payment plans. If you sell well it is profitable because the creation and management of the online store are very simple and you do not need programming knowledge, it also offers good customer service.”

“Shopify can get a bit pricey, especially when you add up the monthly subscriptions, transaction fees (if you're not using Shopify Payments), and the extra costs for apps to get all the features you need.”

Integration rating: 4.7 (57)

Instagram is one pillar of promotion for the business, and integration onto the software is seamless, by this I mean rather quick, no issues. I am glad Shopify has such partnership with Instagram.

When you post to one, it posts to all your integrations and if your selling clothes you gotta be on instagram.

leads from Instagram get to my stores and are good quality (depending on a/b testing and ad development)

This is just set up so that our merch catalog can populate on Instagram and be tagged for posts/ads.

Integration with Instagram helps me drive traffic from my Instagram account to my Shopify store.

I am strictly e-commerce. Having these connections to my store is imperative for online sales.

I can easily show my instagram pictures on shopify, making the customer experience seamless.

The integration of Instagram has been a game changing because it made me drown more clients.

Easily connect these accounts to have a live widget of an Instagram feed on your site

I show the products in Instagram and pay on Shopify. Integration is easy and fast.

I do a lot of shopping on Instagram, so it helps with storing my information.

We love having our shop on Instagram. It's wehre most of our sales come from.

This is the matrix stop in cyberspace for making such posts sites such as Instagram. It is critical for promotion. The integration on the software give me plenty of wind power behind marketing. Without such integration, marketing would be much more difficult than it is today, being not difficult at all. I am thankful for such business software in use.

This integration between Shopify and Facebook Business is very important for the reach and leverage of sales and visits that facebook can offer. Only such giant platforms have this strength.

So that I'm able to create relatable social media ads to particular target audiences based on my website traffic/users. It's perfect for remarketing.

The integration with Meta works well. It makes listing items within the Meta ecosystem easy from Facebook to instagram tagging

Great for syncing your products to your Facebook for advertising purposes and tagging in content. We love how it's seamless.

It helps bring all the store information to other sales channels , social media channels

I am able to spread the word and work from within when integrating the two programs.

Because I use Facebook to track my consumers internet and also potential customers

Facebook you have to be there to be omnichannel although does not work very well.

Need Facebook catalog for use instagram shopping and Shopify for end the process

Easy to set up. It can have some glitches in transmitting accurate inventory.

Integration rating: 4.8 (72)

It's important because it allows you to switch between softwares and still use the same software for certain purposes that the other software might not have so it's great when you can integrate other software as with each other

PayPal offers an extra checkout option for customers outside of the forced Shopify payments functionality.

Receiving my money into my bank account is quicker and more streamlined with Paypal integration.

Increased option to make and request payments from buyers and potential buyers also.

Its very important, it makes it easier for most of my customers to make payments.

Having the most options available for a customer to complete a purchase is key.

It is much easier for some of my customers to use PayPal to make purchases.

Email integration is one of the most important features on an eCommerce platform because it’s how you reach out to your customers and promote your products.

Because it creates a new way to make campaigns, email marketing campaigns and lets communicate in a simple way to customers, understand their data

email brings greater return than any other marketing channel so having emails mainstreamed and added to our list automatically is critical

This is how we connect to our email platform - it works overall well, but we've had some issues we've had to address.

Our email marketing for open baskets has a great return and wouldn’t be possible without this integration.

Keeps track of my email customers- enjoying the integration as I can get sales from the emails

I use Oberlo to import products from Aliexpress. My only gripe with them is that they are not allowing Shopify store owners to import straight from other platforms either than Aliexpress.

I believe it allowed me to include items which I didn't have readily available without the handling and hassles of procurement.

Makes it easy to find products, add them to your Shopify store, and ship them directly to your customers.

I used Oberlo for sourcing dropshipping products and importing them to my stores.
