Probably the easiest to use, full featured, cloud file storage system on the market

Reviewed 4 years ago

I needed a place to store documents that I'd be able to access securely from any device. I also wanted to be able to use this storage system to collaborate with other people on storing and/or delivering documents. This software is perfect for that need.

Pros

Google Drive is probably the easiest software to use for cloud file storage. It has apps for phones, tablets, mac, and pc. I mostly use the web interface for managing my files and permissions because it seems to have the most robust and consistent feature set. It's remarkably easy to upload a file and then share that file with another person or get a public link to that file to post anywhere. I like...

Cons

It is very difficult (possibly impossible) to collaborate with users who don't have a Google account. Also, when trying to implement Google Drive via a custom software product, their API documentation is very complicated. Their examples are almost useless. Finally, it's not a version control system. While Google Docs and Sheets allow users to see the history of their edits, it's not simple (it may not be possible) to recover a document from Google Drive that was changed/deleted in the past. There is a trash system, but it's not for recovering different versions of a file. None of these were deal-breakers for me, so I love the software.

Easy to use, cheap, full control on each detail

Reviewed 3 months ago
Pros

you simply create a document and share it with the person or team you need, also you can share a folder and all the docs or sheets there are available also the backups are full auto, you don't need to care about backups

Cons

the folder organization can be a bit messy because you can share anythin anywhere, it would be nice to have a list of what you shared to control all the published files and folders

Google Drive for Small Agency Team

Reviewed 18 days ago

Good, will stick with it, ok for £6 per seat, prefer to MS Office even though functionality can be frustrating

Pros

Good storage, gmail is ok, we only use Drive, Slides, Docs and Sheets really, nothing else is worth much. Some good integrations like DocHub for PDF digital signature is good. File share and access is good but can feel risky sometimes and can be confusing for other users with lower permission levels

Cons

Pretty dated interfaces, permissions could be better, could give more storage Price has just gone up from £4.60 to £6 per seat!

Awesome New User Interface and Price Changes for Extra Space

Reviewed 5 years ago

I am using Google Drive for the last three years. I have never lost my data or got a problem that couldn't be solved by the Google team. The best thing about the Google service is its team which helps quickly and solve the issue if it comes. The new UI and Price changes made it more likable. I hope it will be improved further especially the prices. I recommend Google Drive to everyone who has storage problem or their data get lost or corrupted in local storage. I am happy to have a reliable service provider and I use it daily to store and sync my data.

Pros

Google has done a great job with the new user interface design of Google Drive. Now it looks easier to work with it because of its left side panel from where it is easy to add a new folder, file, doc, sheet, etc. The new font and Iconography looks really crisp from before. The new price changes made by Google Drive are also pretty likable such as the prices of Google One and others because the price range is now more affordable than before, which made me really happy to have more space even I pay less for it. I always love discounts so, this initiative made me really happy. Auto update of packages was great as I was using 100GB plan and automatically upgrade helped me to get more storage on that same price which made me more happy with the google drive storage service.

Cons

The competitor iCloud provides more space in less amount. It would be really appreciated if Google Drive provide it on same price or less, but as Google Drive's Free storage is still better then iCloud's storage and the User Interface beats it. So I will still prefer Google Drive over iCloud Storage. I will not compare Google Drive with Microsoft 365 Storage or Dropbox because they are charging more for fewer space and services. For me Google Drive is a winner and up in the competition because of its Prices and User Friendly Interface which no other service providers privides.

Google Drive is the Best Online Storage

Reviewed 4 years ago

I recommend using Google Drive for the people who looking for cloud storage. I did not face any problem when using it. You can afford 15GB free storage when you creating account. There is nothing to be afraid. All the data you upload to the drive is private and highly secured. Data will not lost or change with time. Best place to keep your important files, backups. If you want to transfer a file between two computers and you do not have any pen drive, just upload the file to the Drive and download it from the other computer. I think Google Drive is the best solution for the cloud storage.

Pros

In my experience, I think Google drive is the most popular online data storing service available all around the world. Major reasons for its popularity are the features offered by the Google Drive to its users. Any person who creates a Google E-mail account (Gmail) will automatically receive a 15GB from Google Drive online storage space. This storage is allocated to the user free of charge. 15GB is...

Cons

I am using Google Dive over a long period of time. But I did not find any issues with that. There were some minor bugs in period that Google Drive was introduced. Google team is fixing every small bug regularly and release updates. Therefore I cannot point out any problem related to that. Some could have problems related to the interface of the Drive. But that is fine because Google Drive has a simple user interface. Other than that, no any issues.

Best Cloud Storage Software

Reviewed 3 years ago

Google Drive is one of my most used and appreciated apps/ software and that's simply because of how easy and convenient it is. I wish I had relied on using it as soon as I started university because it would've saved me so much stress. All throughout university I was using a really old laptop that was very low on space, literally I'd have less than 1 GB of storage free and of course that would not...

Pros

The first pro is that the user interface is very easy to maneuver. By simply looking at the icons/ options available, you will know right away, how to use some basic features it has to offer. You can get access to your documents/ folders across your devices once you are logged in with your Google account. This is particularly helpful when you're away from your laptop, for example, and you quickly...

Cons

There aren't many cons that I can think of based on my own personal experience. The only thing I could consider a con is that you need to have a steady internet connection for any changes or updates to be synced and accessible across your devices on which you are logged in. Other than that, all I've had are good experiences with this software.

Google Drive is The Best Investment to Protect Your Valuable Data

Reviewed a year ago

I have been using Google Drive Almost 15 Years now. I backed up lots of valuable Data of mine and my company. I never lost single thing so far. I never faced any trouble when i access my data. I already purchased a bigger space and i need to tell you that it is a worthy investment. Because Google Drive gives you more space to the same cost when comparing to others. You will not have to worry about your Privacy if you use Google Drive. I don't want to switch to any other cloud storage solution because google drive already did change my life.

Pros

Google Drive can be used even without downloading a software. That makes this cloud storage system is the best when comparing to other cloud storage solutions. Google drive has some offline features that can be helpful for anyone if they face sudden connection failures. Even if you have lower strength of network signal, this google drive works perfectly. It gives us 15GB FREE Storage when we sign up...

Cons

There is a Risk of storing data in a Cloud Solution. It does affects to all other cloud storing solutions too. Lots of Cyber Attacks are happening now a days. So, there is a Risk. Other than that i have nothing to highlight.

Reliability versatility and cost all worth one

Reviewed 2 months ago

I can't complain. It's very versatile, easy and everyone knows it how to use it. That being said, because I maximize that two terabytes for the cloud per year about $500 to 1,000 annually. You do get perks such as exclusive software, VPN by Google. You get free web dark scans to make sure your not vulnerable on the dark web etc

Pros

I feel like I shouldn't even have to explain this but the way it's laid out over the years. Your teaching yourself how to use without even noticing it's very. Subprime

Cons

Would say a long time ago. Couple years it was a little bit laggy but now compared more cloud base storage and cost I cannot complain. There's no recoil at this point

Very useful backup and data storage manager

Reviewed 8 months ago

I am very satissifed overall, because G Drive has everything I need including the access from whatever device I want.

Pros

I really love the accessibility, that I can reach my files from the computer, mobile phone, my tablet... From whatever device I am logged in on my Google account, I can access my files. I can sort them by folders, files, date etc, files are also backed up across devices, storage data plan is also not so expensive for me. I also can color the folders which is the feature I am using a lot. It's better for me as I can easily find the right files and folders then.

Cons

Google drive is great for me as a whole, so nothing is bad for me. Maybe that Docs and Sheets doesn't have all the features as other services, but it is not primarily the Drive's issue.

Exploring Google Drive: Your trusted online companion.

Reviewed a year ago

As an intern in the pharmaceutical development and research department at the University, Google Drive was an invaluable tool. We use Google Drive to store and share documents, presentations and spreadsheets related to our project. The ability to collaborate in real time and keep all the files organized in one place facilitated the communication and productivity of the team. In addition, the integration with other Google applications allowed us to create and edit documents directly on the platform without having to download them or worry about the latest versions. In general, Google Drive was fundamental to our daily work and contributed to simplifying our research and development tasks.

Pros

Google Drive offers a wide range of advantages for individual users, companies and work teams. With an intuitive and easy-to-use interface, it allows you to store, synchronize and access files from any device with an Internet connection. Its integration with other Google applications, such as Google Docs, Sheets and Slides, facilitates editing and collaboration in real time. In addition, it offers a generous amount of free storage, with expansion options at affordable prices. The file sharing function allows you to share documents and folders with other users in a simple way, and the privacy and security options provide peace of mind by protecting personal and professional information.

Cons

Although Google Drive is an excellent option in general, it has some limitations. One of the drawbacks is the dependence of an Internet connection to access the files stored in the cloud. In addition, sometimes automatic synchronization can be slow, especially with large files. Some users may also find restrictions on the amount of free storage available, which may require the purchase of additional plans. In addition, there are concerns about the privacy of the data stored in the cloud, since Google has access to the files to show personalized ads.

Google Drive from a Person who is not techie

Reviewed a year ago

In general, businesses and organizations use Google Drive to store, share, and collaborate on files and documents. This can help to solve several common business problems, such as:File sharing and collaboration: Google Drive allows teams to easily share and collaborate on documents in real-time, which can increase productivity and improve communication.Accessibility: Google Drive allows users to access...

Pros

Google Drive provides generous free storage space, allowing users to store a large amount of files and documents. This makes it a great option for personal use, as well as for small businesses and organizations. The productivity-suite collaboration features, such as the integration with Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides, make it a powerful tool for team collaboration and work. The ability to sync files between desktops allows users to easily access their files from multiple devices, and third-party integrations with other apps and services expand its functionality. Additionally, Google Drive offers cross-platform apps for Windows, Mac, iOS, and Android, making it accessible on a wide range of devices.

Cons

Google Drive's consumer desktop utility stores all the files locally, so users can access them even when they're offline. However, this could raise privacy concerns as the files are stored on the local device and could potentially be accessed by others. Additionally, Google Drive does not offer a password-protection feature for shared files, which means that if a link to a shared file is shared with an unintended recipient, they will have access to the shared file. This could be a security concern for users who are sharing sensitive or confidential information.

Affordable File Sharing and Organization

Reviewed a year ago
Pros

I use Google Drive (mostly Docs) to create working documents and share those among members of my team. It's great that multiple people can collaborate on the same files and it's relatively easy to use.

Cons

Search and sorting seem a little buggy. I've run into issues with the sharing permissions on certain folders and files. I'd love to be able to edit docs on mobile without using the specific app. It sucks when you paste content into WordPress it carries with it a bunch of garbage html on the backend.

Good product in general, but not the best to me

Reviewed a year ago

Google Drive and Photos are great tools overall, with very good features and very good speed. If you only need the functionality of Google Drive, you will find better solutions for a cheaper price and more professional features. If you only need the Google Photos feature, this will be a pricy solution too, but you will probably won't find better ways to sort and find a picture amongst thousand ones.

Pros

Once installed and configured, the sync works fine with Google Drive. Also the compression of Google Photo is quite impressive (but you better keep your original pictures somewhere else). Google photo recognition feature of the pictures is probably one of the most advanced and impressive overall.

Cons

If you need to change the source disk where your data is, be prepare to reupload everything from scratch. Any change to your workflow is a nightmare, and support is clearly useless. 3 times I had someone trying to help almost immediately and for hours, but I never had the help I needed. Worst, the last time, the person didn't know how their product was working and I had to explain him (True story, I swear !). Also I started using Google drive and Google Photo when Pictures were unlimited. Unfortunately, since a year or 2, every picture file upload to Google Drive and Photos is taking double space, which wasn't the case before.

Google Drive Just Replaced Your Secretary!

Reviewed 2 years ago

At our software development company, we use Google Drive on a daily basis to collaborate and integrate our work. The Google Drive allows us to easily share documents, spreadsheets, and presentations with each other in real time, making it easy for multiple team members to work on the same project at once. We can also swiftly access each other's files from any device with an internet connection, eliminating the need for physical storage and allowing us to work remotely when needed. Overall, Google Drive has greatly increased our productivity and streamlined our workflow as a software development team.

Pros

Google Drive is one of the most user-friendly cloud storage options out there. Not only does it allow us to access and share files from any device, but its integration with Google Workspace makes it a seamless addition to our daily workflow. Its search function allows us to quickly locate documents, and its file management features make it easy for us to organize and collaborate on projects. Google Drive also offers an impressive amount of storage space at no additional cost, ensuring that we never have to worry about running out of room for important documents and files. Overall, Google Drive has been an invaluable asset for our business and greatly simplifies our daily operations.

Cons

Google Drive has been such a lifesaver for our business, making it easy to store and access documents from any device. But there are always ways to improve, and there are some features we would love to see added in the future. For example, the ability to add watermarks or password protection on specific files would be incredibly useful for sensitive information. Additionally, the option to tag or label files similar to how Google Photos organizes pictures would make it easier to find what we need quickly. Google Drive is already an integral part of our workflow, and we can't wait to see what enhancements they make in the future.

A free tool to keep all your documents safe and easily accessible

Reviewed 2 years ago

Google drive is a tool that has helped us with content management and remote sharing of files across the organisation. We have a cloud storage available for the company, that too at no cost. We highly recommend Google Drive for all your cloud storage needs.

Pros

Google Drive has been an important part of our organization as we have all our documents and data repository on google drive. The tool is not only easy to use but is also accessible remotely from anywhere. As our HR department and marketing department requires lot of internal team collaborations and files sharings, Google drive comes handy with all the essential features and is free for upto 15 GB which is great.

Cons

The time to upload larger documents and files is sometimes too much. This can be reduced which will make the tool more efficient.

The Best In It's Class!

Reviewed 2 years ago

Overall I'm a huge fan of Google Drive and I always recommend it over any other cloud storage and file sharing program. I use this daily for sharing and storing large files and I haven't found anything cheaper or more cost efficient. You can get a massive amount of space for a very cheap monthly rate, and it is easy to organize your files on the platform, both on your computer or the app. I'm not sure why some people are still using Dropbox, which is probably it's main competitor in this space. To me it's a clear choice and I will continue to use Google Drive both for business and personal use!

Pros

I like many things about Google Drive! First and foremost is the cost and the user experience. I've used a lot of cloud storage and file sharing platforms, and this for me is the simplest and easiest to follow. It is as cheap as it gets for lots of cloud storage, and sharing files and folders is super easy as well - we almost take it for granted! It also definitely helps that most people have Google emails, so they're able to easily access the files I share.

Cons

The only thing I dislike about Google Drive is that sometimes when you click on a file from an email, it can take you to an odd page, or the sharing permissions are off. This isn't really a Google problem, but it can confuse people sometimes.

An Easy to Use and USeful Storage Tool

Reviewed 2 years ago

Overall, I have had a good experience. It is easy to use and helpful for productivity and when you’re on-the go.

Pros

Firstly, it’s very easy to use. I also like the integration across google services such as gmail and google docs. You can send large documents in gmail through a google drive link and you can access your google docs easily from your drive etc. You can easily use Drive with other services such as Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides. I like the "portability" of Google Drive. I love that I can access it anytime...

Cons

Like most other google services, it is internet-based and so you will need the internet to access your files. The exception is when you have the folder synced on your PC. However, you will still need to connect to the internet to sync and update. The 15 GB limit for free accounts is very limited in today’s climate when files are becoming larger and larger. A few high quality videos can completely deplete your storage. There are some security concerns as with most network-based services regarding malicious access to your files as well as potential google services tracking and data sharing.

A market leader with its own limitations

Reviewed 2 years ago

Simple and smooth. You install the client, choose what folders you want to backup and can view (and edit!) from any machine via a simple web-based interface. You can also access files from a second PC, although the process is not as simple as it used to be with the old "backup and sync" client that Google decided to ditch one year ago. You can easily share individual files with your contacts (read-only or with edit privileges).

Pros

Drive is powerful, cross-platform and flexible: you can choose what folders you want to backup and share on the cloud and change this easily over time. Also, the PC client accepts multiple users, so you can have a Drive access for personal files and another one related to office ones.

Cons

As is usual with Google, they change the rules after the game has started. First photos did not count against your storage limit, then they did. First you could use a simple and effective "backup and sync" PC client, then you had to migrate to a more cumberome "Google Drive" client that is not as flexible as the previous one used to be, etc. But overall the service is cheap and robust, if you don't mind being taken "hostage" by their marketing/technological changes from time to time.

An exquisite cloud storage platform.

Overall my experience with Google drive has been wonderful and I'm quite pleased with its performance for business use and personal use. It's so convenient that we don't need to set up extra accounts or learn to use a whole new brand. Google drive is an affordable and effective cloud storage solution. It can hold large files and different file types. However, if you need extra security this product may not be the one for you.

Pros

I most enjoyed the reasonable price for business plans compared to other products. You get a much better value for money especially for the amount of storage space. Google Drive is the most easy to use cloud storage software that I have experience with. Every function I use only takes a few (or one) simple steps. If you ever do need help it's quite easy to find answers online or you can contact customer support. It's very simple to share from Google drive as well. Again it's just a few simple steps. Personally I like all Google products and I enjoy the way all of them are set up.

Cons

While it's great overall, Google drive just lacks some of the more advanced features that are provided by its competitors. I would like to see more business tailored tools and customization. Tragically, Google Drive just isn't up to par on security and encryption levels for us. We handle documents that need to be kept in a very secure (and reliable) place. When we revised our goals for security and privacy we had to ditch Google Drive.

The Best Cloud Storage Platform

Reviewed 2 years ago

I use Google Drive daily for file and document management, cloud storage, and file sharing and collaboration. I do all of my client work in Google Docs and being able to just share a link to the file and have clients add feedback saves so much time than having to send files by email and try to make sure we are working on the same version of the file.

Pros

Google Drive has become my go-to cloud storage platform after I've previously used both Dropbox and iCloud. There is a free 15 GB storage available which is much higher than competitors. I have a Google Workspace Business Starter subscription which gives me 30 GB of storage. I've moved some files from my MacBook to Google Drive for cloud storage to free up space on my hard drive too. I am a content...

Cons

I honestly like everything about Google Drive, but the only thing that I am a bit concerned about is that I keep hearing people say that your data isn't safe. But, I am yet to see any cases of data being hacked, and trust Google Drive to keep my personal files secure.

Google Drive is a great option for Small business

Reviewed 2 years ago

I became a heavy Google Drive user about 5 years ago, when I started working for a marketing company that handled all their creative work in Drive, text documents, spreadsheets and slideshows. The best about G-Drive and the thing that separates it from competition is the vast integration to its native apps, that make the whole environment more productive, all in one place. I still manage the majority...

Pros

The basic free 15GB of storage and the integration / development with so many apps to set up your office work, all in one place.

Cons

I'm still not that fan of the new "virtual drive" thing, I miss the old system of online backup of selected folders. The Mac OS drive has collapsed a few times, even having to restart the computer because of it
