“Todoist is a great task management tool for day-to-day tasks and work productivity management. It's cross-platform compatibility is a huge plus to maintain the tasks up-to-date and in perfect sync with the online and desktop applications. ”
GL

Gaurav L.

Designer

“The next step is to give each project its own set of duties, with as much or as little specificity as is required. It is possible to break down a job into smaller steps. To change the order of your tasks and subtasks, just drag and drop them into the new order. However, if you already have a sorting option applied, doing so manually will be disabled. Labels, also known as tags in certain applications, may be applied to tasks. You're free to use any terms you choose for the labels, and you may even give them individual colors. Paid users get access to location- and time-based reminders, as well as generic push alerts for when a task is due or when someone else marks it as complete.”

User opinions about Todoist price and value

Value for money rating:

Of 125 reviews that provide robust commentary on Todoist's price and value, 56% mention it in a positive light.

Reviewers indicate that Todoist offers a functional free plan, but they frequently mention its limitations, such as caps on active projects, restricted collaboration, and the absence of key features like reminders, labels, and file uploads. Some users report that while the free version is adequate for basic personal use or testing, they feel compelled to upgrade to access essential productivity tools. Users think the paid plans unlock a wide range of advanced features, including increased project limits, integrations, automated backups, collaboration tools, and customization options, which many find valuable for both personal and team management. Reviewers appreciate that the premium and business plans are reasonably priced compared to some alternatives, and note occasional discounts or educational pricing as a benefit. Some reviewers feel, however, that the recurring subscription model and the cost of unlocking core features can be a drawback, especially when compared to competitors offering more functionality for free. Some users say that the pricing structure lacks flexibility for those who only need a subset of premium features, and a few find the overall cost high relative to the feature set. Some reviewers find the free trial useful but limited, and express frustration at encountering paywalls for basic functionalities.

“Using Todoist with a free plan allows you to have five active projects at any one time. Once you upgrade to a Pro account this then increases to 300 active projects & access to all the features that are not available in the free account,”

“I liked that with a low-cost paid plan I could integrate it with my preferred Pomodoro timer, with Google Calendar and Gmail, and if I had wanted, with several other tools.”
CM

“The free version is very limited in what you can do, you can't add notes to the tasks, and paying for a premium version really isn't worth it in my opinion with all the other free tools out there.”

Integration rating: 4.5 (59)

I could add my Todoist planned tasks to Google Calendar et it worked great with the link provided. Very useful to see where you have planned your tasks if you time blocked them. Unfortunately it doesn't work in both ways (you can't update Todoist tasks from the Calendar to have them updated on Todoist)

I have two freelance projects that are in the Google ecosystem, and moving outside of that ecosystem isn't an option. I need a task manager that can bring Calendar entries into itself AND add Calendars from tasks. Mostly, Todoist does this OK.

I do use this, but not as heavily, it's more like a nice to have. I like my reminders coming from the app because it's easy to distinguish from appointments and events.

It makes it super easy for me to control my remote work. I utilise Todoist to plan the project and sync it with Google calendar for Zoom calls.

Associating Monday with my email, it's great, personal. I carry all my earrings together as well as email. It really is a good combination

All tasks appear clearly and automatically in my calendar. I can update them or delete them in my calendar or in the Todoist dashboard.

I integrate Google Calendar into Todoist so it's easier to schedule my appointments and meetings, along with my tasks.

I can make a note of any meetings I’ve been in and also get a list reminders straight from the Todoist app.

The integration allow us to easily find time and date for scheduling for our tasks during projects.

I need to see my tasks on both the calendar and reminders. It works better for me that way.

It works perfectly and lets me see the tasks I have to do at a certain time in my calendar.

I prefer the other way around. it would be better if I can see my calendar inside Todoist.

So far, integrating the app with my calendar has been helpful in simplifying my tasks.

It allows users to see their tasks and projects alongside their calendar events.

I remember I was using an email to Todolist functionality: from Todoist it's a great idea but I would have preferred something more like a button to push your tasks to Todoist but probably a technical limitation from Outlook

Creating tasks in Todoist is incredibly easy from Outlook, contributing significantly to my task management and efficiency.

I can schedule tasks directly from my email account and have the details pop up when I am reminded about the task.

I connected Slack with Todoist which would have allowed me to add tasks from Slack but actually I never used it because I'm just using Slack from time to time but not much more than that. However the connection is very easy as all apps integrated with Slack.

It’s just nice to be able to have things link back to Slack, again, limited in what is shown in Slack.

I use Slack every day, it's useful to be able to easily add tasks from conversations there.
