  • To conclude, Zoho Books is easy to understand and its configuration is quick and easy. The automation of the system is great and you save a lot of time.Cheikh B.Read the full review
  • That said, the Zoho family of products are solid, so if you have need for an accounting product and you are familiar with accounting software, this product would be a great choice.Eric Y.Read the full review

Cons

  • The payment plans are a little frustrating. The limits are on the number of contacts and as a business with lots of contacts and only one transaction often per contact it gets really expensive.Verity M.Read the full review

Pros
Incredibly good value for the price (way cheaper than Freshbooks/Quickbooks) Integrates well with the rest of the Zoho suite Close to everything you'd want from a cloud bookkeeping software

Cons
No payroll (which is a game breaker for some, we're small enough that it doesn't really matter) Missing little nice features from Quickbooks like true reporting tags Freelance bookkeepers don't usually have experience with it

Great functionality at a fantastic price.

Pros
The software is easy to use, stacks up well against Xero (the leading accounting package in use in Australia) for functionality, especially at a small-medium business level and at only 20% of the cost.

Cons
I'd like it to interface much more easily with external reporting packages, but that's endemic across the whole Zoho range (as they have their own reporting module)

Our business has enjoyed servicing clients who use Zoho. A great software to work with.

Pros
Zoho is cloud based therefore all your team members can work from anywhere. even from their cellphones. Zoho books comes with inventory management and other management tools for customer support and management. It is easily integrated with ecommerce platforms specifically shopify. Being cloud based we do not have to do back ups for Zoho clients.

Cons
Zoho has a very low pricing structure in the first year which then increases very much in the second year onwards.

Quality accounting software at an unbelievable price

Overall, Zoho Books works perfectly for my digital marketing company. Online payments, invoicing, credits, client portals, many integrations, and much more. The few issues I have with the software are quickly forgotten about when you consider the low price tag.

Pros
- The price simply cannot be beaten. There are a lot of features for the monthly price. - Bank syncing works well and there have never been any problems with linking any of the bank on my account. - Invoice and email customization is sufficient enough to differentiate itself from competitors. - Client portals allow clients to log in and see their billing history. - Zoho books can integrate with many other platforms via their API and through Zapier.

Cons
- The interface is a little hard to follow sometimes. There is too much white with tiny little lines across the screen. Looks "out of focus" a lot of the time. - Recurring expenses are not handled well, in my opinion. There isn't an easy way to see expenses that were auto-created for easy removal.

I use to have QB but left due to the $100 price increase I was getting every year. I did free trials with a few accounting software options and ended up with ZOHO due to the affordable price it has. Now it does not have all the bells and whistles as QB but I expected that and told myself that I can get used to that. I switched everything over and after only having the software for 1 Month I completely regret it for 1 main reason. ALL of my Invoices, BIDS!!!, payment reminders, everything that is emailed goes to SPAM. I could deal with all the little stuff like recommendations take years to fulfill! not being able to mark up an expense, or time multiple projects which honestly not really getting used to it. But I am loosing out on work and not getting paid is really frustrating, ZOHO will not fix the problem because there are multiple people that have had this issue dating way back and is still a problem TODAY. And they make you go through crazy hoops to get mail to where its supposed to be. It is probably a great product in India but not in the U.S. Do your research and take it from me, DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME.

Pros
For the price, you do get a good amount of options.

Cons
Recommendations take years to fulfill, you can go and look on there form. Their price list is a joke, makes it really hard to mark up items.

ZOHO Books for Cloud based Book keeping

Used daily for less than 6 months

Review Source: Software Advice

Overall product is value for money, and best suitable for small and medium enterprises.

Pros
ZOHO books is SaaS based Book keeping software which runs on cloud based network. Here are the pros of the software which we found after using it for more than 2 months. 1. Provides full features book keeping service along with cloud based excel, word, Power point etc. 2. Unlimited multi user allowed in professional plan. 3. Various beautiful add-ons are available like payment gateway integration, OneDrive, google drive integration etc. 4. Fully loaded with all required features needed for small and medium enterprises. 5. Complete GST automation for Indian users.

Cons
1. Compared to desktop based and other software price is high. There are many excellent desktop based softwares available at comparatively very lower rates. 2. In cloud based software despite enough security there is always risk of data privacy and data security. 3. QuickBooks online has some extra features specially for accountants which is missing in ZOHO Books.

Today in the fast moving world we try to find and use something that more plug & play, Zoho is one of them. Zoho Books is a cloud based application very much suitable for growing organizations. This has quite some great features and has a good approach on User Interface and User Experience. The user experience is pretty competent with software’s of its category and above. They give a good user experience as the language used is pretty simple and standard. Note: No software is complete as the necessities are different, for one what looks as an advantage need not be for other. Suggest to do a good requirement analysis before selecting any tool

Pros
• Easy Navigation • Cloud based… so access from any corner of the world !! • Scalable • Secured • Free to try and use with limited features • Only pay for the features you need • Great user interface on pc • Includes features inventory management, Payroll processing, Sales and Purchase booking etc. • E-Commerce integration • Reasonable price

Cons
• Recurring & Features fee could look expensive • Manual sync with banks • No so good mobile app • Presentation of data needs improvement

Efficient, affordable took that's essential for my business

I switched to Zoho Books from FreshBooks a little over a year ago when the cost of FreshBooks became unmanageable and free options, such as Wave, did not serve my purposes. I was also looking for a cloud invoicing/expense-tracking system that was less glitchy and easier to use. Zoho Books is all of that. As a sole proprietor, the price suits my budget perfectly. Clients have told me that paying me through Zoho is much easier than paying me through FreshBooks or Wave. At tax time, it's easy to send my Profit & Loss report to my accountant. I also like that I can attach receipts to my expenses. I'm very thankful for Zoho Books and hope they continue to meet the needs of sole proprietors like me.

Pros
Zoho Books is easy for me to use and much easier for my clients to use when paying me. They've given me positive feedback about their invoicing experiences. It's also affordable, which was a huge deciding factor when I switched from another cloud invoicing program.

Cons
I wish I could see when a client has "viewed" my invoice. Also, I didn't realize that listing vendors on my expenses, such as Amazon, would count as "Contacts" and use up some of my slots. I'm glad I know now and I'm rectifying it.

Zoho Books is pretty good but lacks in some major areas

Used monthly for 6-12 months
Reviewed 2018-06-15
Review Source: Capterra

Pros
The best part about this software is the price and the fact that it natively integrates with all other Zoho products including Zoho CRM and Zoho Inventory. This means that the customer, inventory, and pricing modules of Zoho Books are awesome and WAY more capable than quickbooks online.

Cons
Just to preface, I am a quickbooks online user. I don't feel that Zoho Books is as easy to use as quickbooks in a few major areas: 1. Reconciliation is much easier in quickbooks and I prefer quickbooks bank feeds as well. 2. Quickbooks has a MUCH better mobile app 3. Quickbooks has more third party apps and better interfaces with many third party apps. For these reasons, we actually use Zoho Inventory and CRM with quickbooks and not Zoho Books. Zoho continues to improve the product so one day maybe we will be able to switch but I don't feel that it meets all of our needs at this point.

I used Zoho Books for my own practice for 3 years+for a few of my Clients. It's fast and reliable, and developers are improving it very regularly - adding new features constantly. I would highly recommend using it especially in the businesses that would also use other software from Zoho-like e-mail or CRM-they're well priced and are extremely cost-effective.

Pros
Zoho Books is lightning fast-miles ahead of the competition if it comes to the speed of the software. The actual user experience is very close to the desktop software. Another good feature is its customizability - you'll find a plethora of options with Zoho, obviously designed with advanced reporting tools that come with Zoho Suite in mind. What's important - importing and exporting stuff from Zoho is also very simple - that comes in handy if you want to switch to another software from Zoho, you'll be able to do it-most counterparts allow you to migrate data only partly. Importing journals-extremely important feature-works flawlessly.

Cons
No integrated payroll functionality - small flaw, as you can easily import journals from the software of your choice. Average bank reconciliation - filtering records is difficult, custom sorting as well. No itegrated CIS solution. No reporting directly to HMRC.
