horrible with apts.. they will not add any features despite over whelming crystals for the added apps because they don't agree or like the requested feature. the flaws in the card on file protection system that can be deleted from the client end cost the business money. their last of understand for adding feature is crazy. they have no idea what things are like from out point of view and refusing to fix these feature cause they don't think its necessary.
I like its connected to my register system, their price is affordable,
the system is super flawed. to book an apt you can require a card on file for no show protection. However clients can book an apt put card information in, then after they book the apt all they have to do is log into their account and delete their card on file. I am not notified they did it and when they don't show up for their apt I can't charge them because they took their card off their account...

If had a local business I would not shift away from Square, but since my business serves customers globally I needed a better alternative.
The best thing about Square Appointments that the free feature gives you most of the options, most important being to collect payments and deposit them straight into your bank account. No fuss. Easy to use and integrate.
However, Square Appointments is best for people who serve local clientele and do not serve clientele based in another time zone. In my case, I have a business where I meet up online with people located in different time zones and across the globe. Limited feature set for the price compared to cheaper more feature-rich alternatives available on the market. It's year 2016, and makers of this software still haven't implemented a simple feature like service name showing in the booked time slot when staff view the calendar. Unless you're using their iPad app their web calendar interface is horrible. Worst of all, this system is so primitive that...
It has a dedicated iPad app.
Customer has to fill out his name, email, phone and credit card every single time appointment is booked. That's annoying and enough to steer even the most loyal customers away.

I was happy until they mucked up their pricing. With no option to continue select services without now paying $30/m vs FREE it’s a real sign for me to move on. How could you not consider that multi provider salons are phasing out and many more single suite clients would like to try Square? I have been using this for nearly 5 years and I will be leaving.
I used to love this free service. Used with the other services it was easy and convenient for both me and my guests.
Misappropriated tier pricing has driven me away. As a single person, I do not need to Italian the multiple locations or employee services but cannot retain confirmation and reminder contacts without paying $30/m. Other providers will do this and more for free.

Okay to get the ball rolling at my practice, but ultimately doesn't provide what they promise.
I appreciate that they have a free version - ideal for people with a low budget who are just starting out.
Square offers "no show protection" by requiring a card to book an appointment, yet they allow clients to delete this right after booking without notifying me. This used to be a free feature, and now they're charging for something that doesn't truly protect the user. Customer service is not as responsive or invested as other services I've used.

Overall, it's good enough for me to continue use it. I recommended Square to one of my friends who starts her own retail business as well. If it's possible , I wish Square can lower down the credit cards payment process fee.
I like it's easy to set up and not expensive to start with just personal (no timeworker) use. No monthly fee is my most like part . It comes with a good monthly report for your business.
There's one thing I don't like is the 2.6% processing fee on credit cards payment . For a small business , it's too much for personal use.

Low fees across the board! Same fees for all credit cards, no hidden fees. Love the option to send an invoice to customers via email to pay!
Service industry- - Once the customer signs and hits accept, they cannot go back to enter a tip. Most credit card processors, have the option to add the tip after- with square customer must do it before they sign, or you cannot do it

I wish that it was cheaper, I wish that we could control the message better that is sent out to remind someone of their appointment. I also wish Square offered better customer service.

Square Appointments business scheduling system is simple to use. It allows you to schedule client appointments, and determine if you require prepayment for bookings- an important feature.
The only Con i'd have to say is the pricing on this product. If you're using this software for something that's not necessarily actually making you money, it may be worth just scheduling through outlook or something like that.

Clients can easily select the services, time frame and get notified all without the need for me to access. As customers can book themselves it allows me to have more time with other actions that need to get done.
The pricing is fair but of course would love for it to be cheaper.

Square Appointments has given me an easy way to allow clients to book consultations with me and pay me in advance online. It's convenient and allow clients to see exactly what my services cost and what is involved with each service.

It did not give my clients the option to book multiple services at one time which required me to immediately adjust each appointment to ensure my schedule flows. Unfortunately i was unable to stop what im doing all the time, this cause confusion with clients and scheduling.

Probably best for larger businesses. My business is smaller and I didn’t see full value in the cost for my size of business.
I find square products to be very easy to use- no tutorials seem to be needed- very straightforward and looks visually like google calendar or the apple calendar, so very familiar.
I wish the cost were a little lower- bc you can use free software to manage bookings. That being said, reminders are automated and bigger businesses would really benefit from that and not costly if you are confirming a lot of appointments.

Having everything streamlined in one app. Also it takes the responsibility away from accepting phone calls for appointments. We can direct everyone to the website and it syncs with our phones to alert us. It also gives us the ability to accept an appointment or not.
Being able to embed this tool into my website. The previous scheduler did not provide this convenience. It's easy to use and easy to setup and it doesn't cost our company a dime.
No dislikes thus far. Have not used the tool longer than a month.

This has a fanstastic scheduling interface. It's super clean, easy to use, the payments are seamless...it's wonderful! The bonus features offer all you could ask for in a scheduling software.
The price tag. That's the only con I could find with Square Appointments. The organization I work for is on a tight budget, but I'm sure one day I'll return to this scheduler, because it's amazing.
