Being a front desk employee I frequently had to engage with customers to look up class schedules for them, get them booked into classes they were interested in, and handle payment for classes or massages. The MINDBODY system was always very efficient in these tasks and I feel it is optimized for this type of business (spa, massage, yoga studio, etc.). It was very rare that I had to have customers wait while I tried to figure things out because the interface always felt intuitive and this software seemed to have all the options I could hope for.
This software makes it very easy to check in guests in a timely manner, apply relevant coupon codes, check existing balances, and quickly add items to a guests order. The interface is very intuitive and I feel that I was able to quickly learn it and teach it to new employees. Price modifications and discounts for employees or other special circumstances were very easy and quick to enter.
I found that a couple times there were multiple entries in this system for the same guest. Sometimes one of these entities had a gift card balance or something else that the guest would want us to know about but if we chose the wrong account to look in this would not be immediately clear to us and could cause confusion. It was typically fairly easy to resolve and we were able to consolidate the accounts into one.

There wasn't really much to like. We stayed with him for about two and a half years hoping it would get better but it never did.
It became common to get daily alerts that certain features are functions were not working. Customer service was horrible no follow-up also extremely long hold times and normally if you left a message they would return calls. I would go out of business before I would sign up with MindBody again the whole experience was horrible.

I have been able to connect with new customers and manage the company more effectively thanks to the platform's extensive set of features. I like that I can easily access my schedule, client data, and bookings all in one place and that the interface is easy to use. In addition, I value the array of wellness and fitness services offered on the platform, which has enabled me to expand our services and acquire new customers. Although I find the pricing to be challenging, I believe that the advantages of using Mindbody have outweighed the costs, and I appreciate the platform's various pricing plans for their adaptability.
It enables me to connect with new customers and expand the business. When I first started using Mindbody to help run a fitness studio, that was one of my personal experiences that sticks out to me. I noticed an increase in bookings and a significant increase in our customer base after using the platform for just a few weeks. I trait this accomplishment to Mindbody's easy to understand interface, which permitted me to effectively deal with my timetable, offer advancements and limits to clients, and draw in new clients through the stage's pursuit and disclosure highlights. I also appreciated Mindbody's customer service team's level of support; they were always available to answer questions or show me how to get the most out of the platform.
When I first started using Mindbody , I found the subscription fees to be quite high, especially when compared to other management platforms that are currently on the market. This is based on my own personal experience. Although I have since discovered that the advantages of using Mindbody outweigh the drawbacks, I believe that the pricing structure could be more adaptable and better suited to the requirements of businesses that are at various stages of growth. Having said that, I appreciate Mindbody's free trial and a variety of pricing options to meet the needs and budgets of different businesses. I still believe that Mindbody is a valuable platform for businesses in the wellness and fitness industry.

Automated reminders, which can help to reduce missed appointments and improve client attendance and so on...
It can be expensive for small businesses with limited budgets, especially for businesses that require advanced features.

Awful. Don't buy this product.
Being listed among my competitors and found by other users.
This is the most expensive and clunky application I have ever attempted to use. The back end is just awful. I signed up for three months because Mindbody said it would take that long to see results. At the end I was out $500 and didn't get a single new lead. I am pretty tech savvy when it comes to using online programs and software. This program was such a headache. I didn't need all the bells...

Im overall please with Mindbody and it’s easy to use/navigate platform.
The online booking system was very useful. I am very happy with the real-time scheduling as well.
Certain times of the day Mindbody could not be accessed by the app/online because system updates were being run. This is inconvenient when trying to check the next day schedule.

It is good. One of my favorite part of my job. It is fun organizing profiles and fixing duplicate issues by using MBO.
I love that Mindbody is very organized and helping members with membership issue is easy. We can review, organize and manage their account just by learning few jargons and tabs.
Sometimes the added locations gets mess up when you change the UUID to default, however I already learned not to do that. I just wished there is a warning.

I think until recently we were thinking of switching to something else that is more reasonably priced. I stayed on and am now using the new marketing software. We will see if it helps automate our business more.
I like that it has an app and that our clients can easily sign up. Also, the billing makes it easy for a small business like ours.
We have been using MINDBODY for the last 3 years. I just think it is okay and think there are so many other products out there that have come out that might be better. My biggest gripe is the cost. I wish it scaled more with how big our fitness business is. We have a small business and don't do a lot of volume but in order to get the marketing features we have to pay a huge premium. I also was bothered that that they just increase costs by a lot after we used it for a year and never gave any training about the new features that we HAD to pay for. I don't like that their actual internal network and app don't help get new clients. DON'T ever pay for that feature as it takes a percentage from the sale. You are much better off doing your own sales and marketing.

Like any partnership, there are always imperfections and areas of improvement. If I could wave a magic wand and all my wishes were granted, then this is what I would wish: a more robust set of auto email options more content for the retention and re-engage emails more functionality related to inventory the ability of change contract start dates after the contract has been activated That's about it. There are other, small quirks which can be annoying at times, but then again, nothing is perfect and there is always room for improvement in any relationship.

THEY HOLD YOUR CLIENT DATA HOSTAGE - Additionally, when we leave we will have to pay them for our own clients information to have it transferred to the new company . . . OUR OWN CLIENTS!!!
The software is pretty easy to figure out however the bad too far outweighs the good. When you crash as often as MindBody does it really doesn't matter whether your software is easy to use or not.
THEY CONSTANTLY DISRUPT BUSINESS - They choose to launch software updates and perform maintenance during peak business hours which constantly disrupts business. One outage on 4/5/18 lasted THE WHOLE DAY!!! Then the following day their credit card processors went down almost an entire day and this was a busy Friday for us. They majorly altered their software system and implemented in on Saturday 3/3/18...

Avoid this software especially if you are a small busines.
It is a functional tool if you have hundreds of extra hours to set it up, understand its glitches and manage around its shortcomings.

The only pro I can think of is the integrated merchant processing. Even then it's not really a pro because if you want to use another processor it's not gonna happen.

When you sign up you'll be promised the moon and stars. Then you'll get 1-2 support calls per week and you'll see many of those claims retracted. If your support guy is good (I had one good call) this is enough to get you up and running. Unfortunately mine was not. It was "click here, type this, go back to this screen and click here" and then at exactly 45 minutes our call is ended until the next one....
- If most of your business is direct debit based, and if you can get your customers into their paysafe (netbanx) system, then the transaction charges seem competitive (plus an extra monthly fee). - There are lots of features - It has a custom app that looks pretty
- The app will also advertise any of your competitors on mindbody when people look for you - You feel like you are dealing with a big company that doesn't ultimately care about you or your business, just your money - Legally dubious "No Refund" policy will be enforced regardless of the reason you ask. Own a hair salon? This might be important to you too: I've been using MindBody for nearly 2 years at my salon for its online booking. I have nothing bad to say about how the online booking functions on MY end... meaning that when I log in and manage my appointments, it's pretty easy for me. Excellent admin management. Wonderful for managing appointments and worth the money based on this alone. You pay more as your business grows. I have found the support to be excellent. I'm not sure why so many people here are complaining about the support. Everyone I've talked to has been really knowledgeable and helpful.
No way to book appointments directly on your own website. This is a pretty big one for me obviously. The booking page for the customer is stark, confusing, and unnecessarily cumbersome. There needs to be a way to make the integration more seamless and pretty. I guess it's just very disappointing because the software and company are otherwise very good. This seems like such a no-brainer and I feel like I'm losing business because of it. This needs to be addressed.

MindBody is the admin assistant I've always needed and could never before afford. In the first three months of using it I DOUBLED my income. My clients can schedule, cancel, reschedule, sign up for classes and pay online- that alone saves me at least two hours a day that I no longer have to be on the phone, I can be working! Or playing with my family, or a million other things rather than sitting...
MindBody customer support is AWESOME! It's the reason I stay with MindBody, though Square offers a lower rate to NCBTMB members such as myself- square's customer support is awful. In contrast stands Max Malle. Remember that name. Best customer service rep I've ever known. He and the others go above and beyond their jobs- you can feel their sincerity. Oh and I've doubled my income and am set to triple it this year because the software does SO MUCH WORK for me. It's my administrative assistant that I only pay $ a month for! It rocks.
Hm. Well, I have yet to figure out the difference between signing someone up for a yoga class and signing them in to a yoga class, so maybe differentiating that in the program's wording would help. OH and for those of us who use our phones exclusively, not a computer, when using the software, it would be lovely if the phone programming held everything just like the computer programming does. Hmmmmm .... OH and sometimes late at night my schedule disappears completely from my phone. It shows up as blank, which is frightening, but in the morning it's back to normal. Maybe you guys are working on it then?

Overall. Our experience is a positive one. We certainly have our frustrations and have been met with dead ends on more than one occasion. We have been continually researching and discussing with peers the use of other similar products to see if there would be a similar and more cost effective fit for us.
-visually, it is simple and appealing -The customer service team is responsive and intelligent and we appreciate the remote controlling of the screen to learn while issues are resolved -Mostly it has accommodated the needs of our business

Considering there are so many new platforms that don't have the tech debt look to newer more innovative companies. MBO will see you on 20 years in the business but in tech that is actually more a liability to them. There platform coding is outdated and they are not flexible. They require third parties (more cost to the user) to patch what they can't create themselves.

I am now with Acuity Scheduling...ultra cheap and convenient for posting links to scheduling, and can link a merchant account to it for card payments.
The ladies I worked with getting connect to MindBody...Amazing! These ladies presented me with a great opportunity to connect to a huge network of people in my area that typically engage in massage services. The set up is easy, and you will have someone that makes sure you are ready to start using your scheduling system.
Tech Issues: I had nothing but issues when it came down to my clients being able to join the network and start booking appointments. What I was the most shocked/upset with is there not being a protocol in place when it came to these issues, and the reps not being sensitive the matter at hand. Did a great job compiling competitive software services that we need for our business.
Very easy to use once you get set up and figure it out how to make it work for your business. Before MindBody changed their software capabilities... again... there was so much flexibility in how to use the software and it has so many very applicable functions for multiple business types. Customer service has ALWAYS been amazing and the interface is very customer friendly. It also has a great app for online booking.
