User opinions about Microsoft Teams price and value

Value for money rating:

Of 173 reviews that provide robust commentary on Microsoft Teams's price and value, 73% mention it in a positive light.

Most reviewers indicate that Microsoft Teams offers good value for money, especially for those already using the Microsoft 365 suite, as Teams is included at no additional cost. They appreciate the wide range of features available, such as video calls, instant messaging, and integration with other Microsoft tools, which they find beneficial for business communication and collaboration. Users also value the free version, which includes essential functions like chat and meetings, and the additional storage provided by OneDrive. Some reviewers highlight that Teams helps reduce travel expenses by enabling remote work and virtual meetings.

However, some users report that the cost of Microsoft Teams can be high, particularly for small businesses or individual users who need to upgrade for additional features. They mention that the standard licensing does not include dial-in options, requiring a more expensive enterprise license. Some users also find the platform resource-intensive, which can slow down their devices. Additionally, there are concerns about the complexity of the interface and the need for a Microsoft 365 subscription, which can be costly for those on a budget. Overall, while many find Teams to be a cost-effective solution, others feel that the pricing and resource demands can be a drawback.

To see what individual users think of Microsoft Teams's cost and value, check out the review excerpts below.

“The price, which essentially comes with our enterprise O365 subscription for free, makes deploying Teams across your organization a no-brainer. While there was definitely a few years there where Teams struggled in terms of performance and features, its recently come into its own, with a robust feature set that rivals Slack. ”

Integrations rated by users

We looked at 10,833 user reviews to identify which products are mentioned as Microsoft Teams integrations and how users feel about them.

Integration rating: 4.5 (146)

While this is not a mission-critical feature, it can be useful if it were more solidly integrated or interacted within Teams. We can create channels and groups within Teams that in turn will create SharePoint pages but they will never cross-check with the other to avoid duplicate naming. This should be addressed/looked into in future iterations of the software.

Through integration with Teams, Sharepoint collaboration and document sharing can be utilized in both places. Sharepoint additional capabilities can then also enhance what exists in Teams for collaboration and data sharing/reporting.

Sharepoint is where we save all of our response documents and team knowledge. Without sharepoint, we would constantly be sending files back and forth and back and forth. The autosave feature of Sharepoint is a livesaver!

The integration is important as we use SharePoint as our document library, allowing collaboration and communication in 1 space, allowing a single point for all communication and document storing.

while workig on sharepoint and any document like word, excel and powerpoint, we can share easily via teams to anyone or group of people, it save our most important times during working hours.

We use SharePoint to house and access our files and with screenshare and ease of using these products together, we are able to have quick, efficient meetings with documents in real time.

SharePoint helps us review and work on documents in live-time. However, it can be unclear within the Office 365 where your documents are stored and if it's in real time.

It is important because it enables seamless file sharing, document management, and collaboration within Microsoft Teams, enhancing productivity and organization.

Our Sharepoint is connected to my departments Teams channel, which allows us to receive the updates on certain topics/projects as changes are made.

All firm and company files and documents can be shared directly from the secure server to private teams folders and meetings when necessary.

We use MS Sharepoint for all our file storage and it is critical to be able to draw on this during online meetings.

This features helps the team to share any important topic, notes, video etc at one platform so everyone can view it.

It is important to be able to relate files and documents in any meeting or event scheduled through Ms Teams.

This enhances our collaboration for shared documents within departments or collaboration with third parties.

Another application that once we were trained to properly use has become indispensable to the team.

Working in and sharing documents stored in Microsoft SharePoint is easy thanks to this integration.

Filesharing and team spaces are well integrated between Microsoft Teams and SharePoint.

We needed a place for over 1000 to share specific files and streamline organization.

I personally don't need this, but other users do and it has been great for them

Teams works with SharePoint to make file sharing and storage more convenient.

Outlook activity notifications and Teams activity notifications are the usually the same. This is redundant, but it also ensures you will be notified. Outlook Calendar integration is also important for determining meeting availability.

Because it integrates the meeting calendar with teams, giving you notice at the beginning of a meeting and allowing you to see the calendars of other people, evidencing their availability.

Integrating Teams with Outlook allows me to easily schedule team meetings, put it on the MS Teams calendar, and automatically send notifications to my team members.

Outlook and Teams are like peanut butter and jelly. Sure you could work without them, but why? Its gross. This integration is seamless and incredibly useful.

We manage our inboxes through Outlook and scheduling calls with teams integrates seamlessly for our communication and calendar management within Outlook

I receive all invitations through Outlook; it's super important to me that they are automatically added and that I receive notification alerts.

It seems to duplicate our Outlook Calendar, and it gives notifications when someone schedules a meeting through email. This seems unnecessary

Having meetings automatically scheduled from Outlook to Microsoft Teams is a huge time saver and keeps me from missing meetings.

Outlook is integrated to send meetings and updates. Others can also propose other meeting times through the integration.

iam able to move a conversation from Outlook to Teams and vice versa with just some few clicks . including attachments

It is important to keep the two connected. Teams reminds you about meetings through outlook, which is very useful.

Because meetings appear in my calendar that way I never miss one and I can easily join from my outlook calendar.

This made account setup and management easier, although I wouldn't say it's a necessary or critical integration.

Very helpful to navigate all the other details of my job. My email, calendar, access to one drive. very useful

This integration will helps you to share the documents from Outlook and for online meeting notification etc

Calendar functions seamlessly integrate to create/view/join meetings from either application without issue

This is important in easily scheduling meetings and having the link built into the calendar invite.

It's glitchy, so less used than it could. Basically the option is there if you want to use it.

Super important to be able to schedule meetings and have this sync with your outlook client

Teams and Outlook of course have great integration. From calendar management to meetings.

I have used Microsoft Teams to share my Microsoft Word documents with others, so that we can collaborate on team projects. I am grateful that Microsoft Teams has a screen sharing feature, since it has made collaboration easier. Consequently, I have been able to consistently meet project deadlines.

For reasons stated above. Alot of documents are stored from Microsoft word and are available to multiple people. Having the most current document and notes from everyone makes for a more accurate experience for all.

This enhances our collaboration for collaboration on such documents such as manuals and procedure documents that often require contribution from multiple staff who are located globally.

Microsoft Teams allows you to create Microsoft Word documents that allow you to quickly go from draft to final product with other on your team.

We used Micorsoft Word to generate our documents or edit them and then imported them into Teams without any issues or conversion problems.

Our RFP responses are in microsoft word, so the ability to collaborate and edit Microsoft word documents at the same time is essential

It helps as a preview of Word Documents inside the Microsoft Teams application which sometimes is better to have a quick overview.

It is a nice feature but not used as much as other applications. Sharepoint is used more for this, but nice to have.

If this integration wasn’t working or present, this software would fail. Fortunately the integration is rock solid!

I prefer to use the desktop version for creation, but teams allows me to communicate/collaborate live with others .

In my opinion, the whole benefit of using Teams is the native integration with other Microsoft products.

The Agendas of meetings held on Microsoft Teams are all created and written o Microsoft Word.

Integration with Word makes sharing meeting agendas and other documents with my team easy.

Working on a document together allows us to finish sooner and work more effectively

Our system used for document creation. Legal work requires a lot of documentation.

Many of our documents are made in microsoft word and versions are shared in teams.

They are easily integrated, having access to all my files and their edition.

for my team personally we keep track of our time in our projects and XL sheets but since we need to share this phone we wanna make sure you know all the changes can be tracked when we see who does what and when updates need to be made we can see who’s you know editing Microsoft teams when you upload the Excel file to eat you are able to view it in a way that you don’t edit the actual file but you create your own view so you can see what you need to see while somebody else is doing something

Excel is our #1 used software in the company. We have excel files for everything from quality checklists to data analysis and ERP information. Excel integrates seamlessly with 365 and we can now take those files directly into meetings / teams without having to find them in e-mails or meeting requests.

For reasons stated above. Alot of data is reported on Microsoft excel and worked on by multiple people. Having the most current document and notes from everyone makes for a more accurate experience for all.

integration with excel has allowed us to export requests from Microsoft Forms entered in the appropriate teams channel which can then be processed and are all integrated into an automations process

This is our main method of collecting process data. without this ability I would have to purchase an expensive collection software and intergrade it with all of my equipment.

We can easily share spreadsheets related to our meetings and this improves the collaboration for persons that contribute to the spreadsheet's information

Works well with certain departments. Accounting , upper management and other departments that use excel or Excel sheets that multiple user input on.

Excel is important to me because I do a lot of data entry and this program makes it easy to keep track of reports/records.

It helps as a preview of Excel inside the Microsoft Teams application which sometimes is better to have a quick overview.

To keep track of articles we were reviewing and writing, we used Excel in Teams to do so and it was extremely easy.

In my opinion, the whole benefit of using Teams is the native integration with other Microsoft products.

At the risk of sounding repetitive, integration with Excel is great for business meetings with my team.

It helps us create, edit and share spreadsheets together as a team to promote better outcomes.

They are easily integrated, having access to all my files and their edition.

Our work mainly focuses on creating and sharing excel and powerpoint sheets

Microsoft Power BI in Teams is very important as it allows you to integrate Power BI's powerful data visualization and analytics capabilities directly into your Microsoft Teams environment.

It allow us to analyze our data in order to generate insights that help us understand how our business is operating and ways to improve that.

Enable us to embed dashboard and reports for instant view of marketing analytics, sales performance and KPIs reports during strategy meetings

This integration has made it easy for us to transfer data and analyze them to get insights that help us make informed decisions.

Although it has errors in loading the plugin and sometimes it becomes slow, it is a good approach to a full work environment.

Not critical for company use, but allowed us to easily compile and share some information for a project.

It has been useful to analyzing our business data to acquire insights that guide our decision making.

We have found it much easier to improve the performance of our business by analyzing our operations.

we are just starting to make use of this program I expect to need it much more in the future.

It allow us to analyze our project work to understand which direction we are heading.

We used the Power BI integration to make it easier for management to access reports.

In order to show the dashboard to part of the team that wasn't familiar with powerBI

Management indicators are needed in each work to be done, if we want to improve.

Simply navigate to the relevant charts without needing to go outside of teams

It lets me to include all my reports (created with Powert BI) in one Teams.

Whenever we have any presentation to begin, we use presentation tool which makes it way easier for everyone to see the presentation on the screen, put their thoughts, comment and speak in real time. It's like giving a presentation virtually and it's awesome because everyone are on the same page.

I personally don't need this, but having used it a few times it's nice to allow the integration so all users in a meeting can work on the same file as they're talking about things

Powerpoint is our least used microsoft tool. We only use it on occasion, but it's great to be able to present duringTeams calls!

I love to utilize MS PowerPoint in my Webinars and Trainings. Integrating this with Teams makes presentations go smoothly.

This is the best way for us to be able to share presentations in real time with anyone in a meeting that isn't on site.

This enhances our collaboration for presentation documents for presenations or collaboration on such documents.

In my opinion, the whole benefit of using Teams is the native integration with other Microsoft products.

It makes possible for us to collaborate when creating presentation slides using Microsoft PowerPoint.

Visual aid and presenting is a very important part of online meetings and Teams executes this well.

The ability to share my presentation requires the source file which is being opened by Power point

I use PowerPoint specifically to create visual trainings for my coaches/sponsors.

Our work mainly focuses on creating and sharing excel and powerpoint sheets

Teams meeting invites are often sent both internally and externally through Microsoft 365 and automatically integrate with my Teams program.

These are our most used pieces of software and to have integration between them standard was the motivating factor in our decision

Its tied to your email, so having this work in conjunction to your everyday chats, ensure you wont miss anything important.

Integration on Teams and MS 365 is important as all of our work is completed through these programs.

One of the killer feature is this integration, which allows for a smooth and seamless workflow.

Editing shared team files with Office takes place directly in the Teams app seamlessly.

Office 365 lets you collaborate with your team mates on documents saved in the cloud.

The most significant help, is that it is included and works together out of the box.

It took some time to understand how this software would benefit our team. Once that was figured out, this became another tool that we used on a daily basis.

It is easier to take notes and manage our saved notes without having to go to a separate app.

Integration with OneNote allows you to create and work on notebooks for various use cases.

Just keep notes on there, so I usually just share those with myself. Nothing pertinent.

Since it is integrated with OneDrive, you can either download the files there or put it straight to your OneDrive account which is good since OneDrive is accessible on any devices, no need for flashdrives.

The best library of records ever. I make new things all the time through word or excel, but then it stores here, and then my employees can use it when i share it with them

I love that Teams integrates with OneDrive because it makes it so much easier to locate documents shared within the Teams app by direct chat or group video chats.

This integration is important because all my colleagues in my Teams channel can access and edit or view files that are uploaded in that channel.

It allows us to quickly share documents saved to OneDrive without having to go into a new browser window or app.

This has been a godsend for this team. Prior to this we struggled to keep track of the tasks and completion for our remote employees. This has taken all the guess work out of managing employee assignments.

I use both tools and applications together to develop my university and business presentations. At the moment I use Zoom Workplace 2 to 3 times a week and Skype once a week.

Teams calendar invites to launch Zoom meetings are essential and work seamlessly

Zoom meeting is great to use, it is easy to use with much better functions.

We use GitHub extensively and the webhooks integrated gives us a single place to monitor latest updates to our repos with configurable notifications.

Our company is a software development company, being able to reference commits, repo's and issues was important for our communications.

It gives us some of the capabilities of Github inside our collaboration tool.

The Dynamics integration is really a nice to have. I can send messages from Dynamics to a colleague and that message is tied to the Dynamics record. It absolutely simplifies the tracking of messages.

Enhance document sharing, collaboration and communication within team members.

I rely solely on Asana for my task management. Asana is great! But the integration is worthless. It is not very functional at all. I have it integrated, but I honestly don't know what it does. It's only a chat that somehow connects with Asana, but doesn't show tasks or anything.

Flawless integration as some functions can be crossed and the results are tangible and pushed to all the members efficiently.

My team use Trello on a daily basis, being able to see and manage our boards within Teams is a great feature.

After using Teams with other add-ins, Trello was replaced with another Teams integration

Being able to integrate Teams meeting invites to my Google calendar allows me the flexibility to have Zoom or Teams conference calls depending on my clients meeting tool preference.

Automatically integrating new meeting times into our calendars is such a helpful tool! No one has an excuse of missing an email.

It's an appointment booking system that gives the user the power to control the time slot, so linking with our video software is highly important.

I give my customer the option to book Teams meetings if they prefer Teams over Zoom.

This is our feedback recognition platform which isn't used all the time but rather than loading it up on another browser, we have it on the sidebar and its accessible with the click of a single button. Very good and handy
