A Great Company that is Always Improving

Pros

We love the onboarding system, it makes everything very easy and automated! We also really appreciate the way Namely takes feedback and acts upon it. They release new features and products every quarter and the releases really are what the customers are looking for. The company is always looking to improve and grow which we really value.

Cons

We have had difficulty with the Namely Time feature, it gets confusing for employees and sometimes there are issues with information syncing between the two systems.

Reviewing Namely for HRIS, benefits admin & payroll processing

We love Namely for our HR, benefit and payroll administration. And our employees enjoy the social feed area as well. The site is flexible, easy to use and we get wonderful support from our Namely team!

Pros

I mostly love being able to have HR, benefits and payroll information all in one spot! Of course Namely is not the only program which can handle these processes, but I do find Namely very flexible and capable of handling all our needs.

Cons

We may be unique, but we do value anonymity in our review process. I do wish the review program settings could be set at the company level so that all managers could initiate the process in the same manner. without my needing to ensure it is handled in the same way each time. I've communicated our need and I'm sure Namely is assessing to see if this is something other companies could use as well.

Great concept, but not able to deliver

Namely needs to stop building new features, fix the ones they have, and build better internal processes. The dysfunction they are experiencing internally is extremely apparent to clients.

Pros

In comparison to other all-in-one HRIS systems, the interface is a lot more friendly. It marries the concept of social media newsfeeds with HR, allowing employees to comment on each other's birthdays and anniversaries. This gives HR an opportunity to engage employees with a fresh approach to benefits, payroll, and compliance.

Cons

I'm unsure of the experience of other customers, but the concept of Namely never took hold for our organization. Beginning at implementation, the Namely team was disorganized and unstable. Implementation was scheduled to wrap up October 1 and wasn't completed until January. During that time, Namely's implementation team experienced turnover 3 times, each time having to reset our implementation schedule....

Innovative HR Software

Namely provides a software package that covers the essential needs of any HR department, including HRIS, payroll and benefits administration. HRIS is easy to use and logical from both an administrator and self-service perspective. Payroll is quick to run and has one of the fastest processing times I've seen. Benefits just work. Lots of options to meet your needs from the benefits side with great transparency...

Pros

Ease of use and modern platform that is easily recognizable for employees and managers.

Cons

There needs to be more integration between the different modules (HR & Payroll), but this is something that is on their roadmap. I'm already seeing improvements after being in the software for a couple of months.

A great product for the price.

To have a one-stop location for PTO, performance management, payroll, onboarding, birthdays and anniversaries, salaries, and reporting makes our lives much easier .

Pros

There are so many HRIS and payroll products on the market, that it was great to find one that did both really well several years ago. And there have been numerous improvements since-an onboarding feature, updated performance management, the API is more user friendly, and there are API connections with several other softwares we use.

Cons

There are some intuitive changes that are happening in the product, such as improving the the reporting functions, title changes, and salary increase sections.

Solid software for the price

The support team and onboarding tools are both fantastic. They've recently added a "goals" feature that we are just starting to use, so that is exciting. Overall, it's a great value for the price.

Pros

Great UI, compared to other HRIS products of similar cost. The internal support team is very responsive and helpful. There is a wide range of tools to choose from: onboarding, PTO, performance reviews, benefit portals, payroll, etc. I've found the onboarding feature very helpful, as new hires can start their HRIS profile, as well as read and agree to all new hire paperwork.

Cons

The API leaves some room for improvement, but I believe they are working to improve it. Also, the benefits portal works well, but the "electronic feed" to the insurance company hasn't worked for us. Well, it works, it just doesn't link accurate information. I believe they are working on that as well. The performance review reminders are not found in an intuitive manner, but the program itself is pretty easy to use once you know where to find things.

Namely has helped our organization streamline HR process and easy for our employees to access their tax documents, benefits, PTO requests and etc. I have heard more positive responses from our members than negative ones.

Pros

Namely is a great tool to have in any organization. It will help your operation cost and streamline HR processes. I enjoyed the dashboard, all important information is easy to access and the messaging function is an easy way to communicate with HR or Namely Admin.

Cons

When I had to do revisions to my benefits it was a hurdle, I had to wait on our Admin to update my profile. But as soon as it was updated, doing the revisiions was easy.

Namely is a super cool software that gets the Job done. Very easy to use. Very easy to navigate. Needs a little supervision at the beginning though but very easy to use when u get used to all HR processes in one platform. Will easily recommend this software.

Cons

This is my own opinion. And the only con I have has to do with the cost. As far as am concerned Namely cost is a bit too high. No matter the cost am still going to use this software. It can however be reviewed to help a lot more people come on board because it’s a great software.

Pros

Lots of Human Resources functions all combined into one software package. Attendance, Payroll, benefits, etc all combined into one system.

Cons

More initial training would have been beneficial. ATS is not incorporated into the product. It is expensive, but worth the price if you need all the features.

Very expensive solution even without including features based on payments and benefits, a particular and complete module of the application The resources of time and technology for the implementation is also expensive from 6 to 8 weeks approximately

Pros

easy to use, complete, track reviews. Customizable enough to use for yearly reviews. Kinda cute that you can send "praise" and messages to your co-workers.

Cons

Pretty simplistic, in my opinion. It's bare bones, and while intuitive, only digitizes what could easily be accomplished with a paper form. I see the value in that, but that can be easily recreated. Maybe there's other modules we don't buy that are more advanced.

one may needs little supervision in executing this software at the beginning . Comes with a very user friendly interface which makes work very easy to navigate.

Cons

The cost can however be looked at. Which is my own opinion though. The cost shouldn’t deter a lot who wishes to use this great platform. It will be great to have all of them using this excellent service.

We have had a great benefits team, customer service team, and over all success with the project and HRIS.

Pros

Namely has been very customizable and adaptable to our way of business and the “weird” oddities we have. Other vendors told us many times to “just do this instead”, and those solutions were not going to work for us. However, Namely was able to come in and solve each of those needs.

Cons

Very hard to think of one. However, Namely is on a path to make the great experience, even better.

Great, modern software that is a game changer for HR

Namely replaced 4 different tools our organization was using and rolled them all into one. This is incredible from not only a value (cost) standpoint, but also from a ease-of-use for HR admins and employees standpoint. This is a product that we see enabling us to grow because of ability to grow with our workforce. The icing on the cake? Namely treats us like we're their only customer. Customer support is quick, proactive, and responsive.

Pros

Namely has found a way to integrate a number of key resources for employees into a format that is great for a small-and-growing company. While large enterprise software offers all the bells and whistles, that’s not what every company needs. Namely’s high-touch client success team is also a huge asset, especially when handling payroll.

Cons

The only thing I could say as a con or a dislike is that they haven’t built an ATS and a learning portal! I know, I know they’re just getting started. Seriously hard to find anything that I dislike about this great software.

My overall experience with Namely has been great as an employee and communicating with managers to approve time offs or seeing when others are gone on the calendar!

Pros

The Pros I like about Namely is how easy it is for employees to use to ask time off or get resources for benefits and use as a mini social media platform for staff to encourage anniversaries and birthday recognition.

Cons

The least thing I like about this software is the price of the program is overpriced for what you do with less than 50 employees.

HR Management in a complex organisation becomes simple

Pros

Performance of Staff can be easily measured by how far they have gone in completing the set tasks. Staff profile and all can easily be synced with the cloud and the user interface is very easy to understand. It is like having a virtual tool that can handle the management of all the HR responsibilities.

Cons

The price is pretty high but it is worth it when you consider the complexity of your organizations to the benefits of having the product.

Don't Fall For It

My People Ops team has gone to extraordinary efforts to fix a number of things. The service we receive and the quality of follow through is horrible. I would give Namely a 0 every day of the year, but this week's particular issue is that after a recent Open Enrollment period only about half of employee deductions were being made - despite TWO separate confirmations from my team with Namely that everything...

Pros

The HRIS part is good for onboarding and managing employee data.

Cons

Benefits Administration and Payroll products are very bad. Be sure you ask to see these in detail when you're buying because they will mostly show you the glossy front end. The part your teams actually needs to work in is pretty terrible and very poorly tied together. We are constantly finding things that Namely needs to fix, and they usually don't fix it correctly the first time.

Truly dislike this product

UI appears to be easy to look at for employees. Analytics finally improved out of beta. I honestly have nothing else good to say.

Cons

Everything? We we sold a full price beta product in July 2017. Implementation, bugs, carrier feeds taking months. Overall, a nightmare. Of the dozens of Namely employees I have had contact with, I believe 3 are still with the company? They are charging the same high price but decreasing their service level to downright awful. Email request response can take days or not get a response at all. Or multiple reps respond with DIFFERENT RESOLUTIONS!? Calling is a ten minute hold time. They are decreasing their service levels by the day, pushing payroll tax maintence back to the customer, I have been without a dedicated CSM for two+ months now. I cannot wait to be done with this contract and this product.

Overall experience has been great! It's nice to have one hub for all of your HR docs, files and software needs.

Pros

Extremely delighted with the fact that this is a super cool, easy on the eyes yet appealing software that allows you to have your people files, payroll, benefits and other critical confidential data all in one place. Employees can also have access to their data as they need it for self service. The software also provides HR with customizable and analytical reports by category or each individual employee. The software's dashboard is very simple to use and gives you everything you need at your fingertips as well as a mobile app.

Cons

It's expensive. Implementation time takes up to 2 months so be prepared in advance for the transition.

Namely is great for small to mid-size businesses

Namely has been great for our People Ops team and employee base. We tried out a much larger HRIS that really didn't fit our company's needs. We were able to get Namely up and running pretty quickly and it's been very easy to use for our employees and administrators. It's definitely a great tool for companies looking to upgrade to an entry level HRIS.

Our company just switched to Namely recently from another HRIS system and our team absolutely loves it. The platform makes it very easy to engage with your team and also keep and share information. The benefits team has been incredibly helpful with choosing affordable benefits that would be the right fit for our company.

Pros

The ease of use! Our team loves it because it is so intuitive.

We just launched Namely recently, any pain points I have at this time are more from still learning how to use certain things in the platform (more of the management settings).
