Great - I had not trouble.
I used the free version for a long time, and it met most of my needs. The ability to upload lists in different formats made updating subscribers very easy. I liked the signup form that we were able to integrate into Facebook Page Allowed me to add collaborators who could use my subscriber list but not edit it, great for our context. MailChimp has consistently grown and improved the platform and new features are being added frequently.
I did not have the need for all the features, and the paid version did not make sense for me. However, the free version's contact list size limit led me to us an alternative tool. If I had been using more of the powerful features of Mailchimp, I would have stuck with it.

It is a valuable tool for getting closer to our stakeholders. We have been using it for sending out corporate newsletters, invitations to corporate events, and in general to communicate with our customers and users. It has been working flawlessly all this time, providing useful insights on the status of our campaigns. Since it is important for use to reach out to our stakeholders, Mailchimp is our valuable partner in this effort.
I have been using Mailchimp for several years now, both in my current and my previous job. It is easy to setup and customize, and there are numerous customization options in terms of designing our content. One thing we love is the detailed information about the status of our delivered content (e.g. number of times opened etc.). so we can see how each campaign went and work on improving it. I think that this combination of customization and wealth of analytics offered by Mailchimp what makes it stand out of the crowd.
I have a hard time finding something negative (or at least less positive) to say about Mailchimp. I am not the purchase manager, but I know that they would appreciate a better pricing model, as it is probable the most expensive solution around. On the other hand, it gets the job done so nobody can complain about that.
